Hi mates

Still playing Chernobylite and getting a bit bored by it.
The missions structure has remained pretty much the same since i started playing and, although its great to keep exploring the same 4 maps, i cant help to feel like im constantly waiting for something diferent that never comes.
Currently its sitting on a 6,5 maybe 7/10.
Its a good game but im not gonna remind about it in minus 1 day.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Played a little of Wild Hearts and quite liked what I saw. Seems like Monster Hunter only a bit more responsive combat wise, which is my main gripe with MH games

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Did have to have a laugh at the Wild Hearts opening - EA Originals.....it's a Monster Hunter clone, is taking someone else's idea original? ;)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Played a good bit of Wild Hearts over the weekend and quite like it. If you like the Monster Hunter games, it's definitely worth a look. It pretty much follows the same formula but there's enough different with the actual combat to make it feel erm different. Has a lot of the MH frustrations too, spent a fair amount of time swearing at it

Morning all. Finally completed TLOU pt 1 over the weekend. Really enjoyed playing a second time after so long. The characters, story and world were as good as I remember. Game play was solid fun. I loved mixing it up with stealth takedowns, arrow kills and going in all guns blazing depending on what took my mood in any given moment. Some minor annoyances - still friendly NPCs moving in front of the enemy and being invisible to them. And the boss fight in the restaurant I found particularly annoying. Getting a game save with the boss right next to you needed special timing not to get inst-killed after reloading the checkpoint. And I'm not a big fan of excessive weapon sway as being a game play mechanic and upgrade - it's just not fun regardless of what it's trying to achieve (realism?). All in all though very special game and loved it. Will play Left Behind at somepoint. 9/10 on the R-score-o-meter. Atomic Heart next - looks really good, but you never know.

Morning everyone.

I finished and platted Chernobylite.
As i was near the end i realized i was only 3 trophies left and they were all story related so i guess this is an easy play for your guys.
Overall i enjoyed the game but it could have been a lot better.
Since it was a small team with few resources i give them some slack and easily recomend this game to anyone who enjoys exploration and a slow paced Stalkerish game despite its flaws.
I give it a 6,5/10.

Im probably starting AC Odyssey tonight.

EDIT: I know have 4(!!!!!!!!) plats!!!

Chernobylite is now on my radar Glass ;)

I've still been playing the last bit of Spider-man DLC which has been OK but frustrating in parts. A lot of the missions in this bit of DLC require you to chase stuff down but I found it hard to build up enough speed sometimes. It would end up a bit Benny Hill-esque with me chasing the same truck round and round the block. I'd then notice they'd just keep doing the same route on a loop which whilst making things easier, was pretty emersion breaking. I've just got a couple of side missions, crimes and hideouts left to finish.

I've also been playing Tiny Tina and finished everything apart from the character skill specific trophies (except the commando as that's who I played with). Annoyingly I also need to do this for the 2 DLC character classes from the main game but at least their respective trophies look fairly straight forward. The Gunzerker and Assassin trophies are still a pain as you have to level up both characters quite a lot to unlock certain skill tree skills.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Chernobylite...i think I'll pass... From the sounds of it, Glass thinks it's worse than Andromeda, so no amount of plats could be worth the horror ;)

haha.
Its worth playing.
The visuals are really good on the PS5 and they nailed the atmosphere.
But there´s a clear sense that they wanted to do a bit more with the game but probably couldnt.

Hey Johh.
You get exploration, base building, rpg mechanics and a nice story.
If you find it on sale its well worth the hawing.

Error | 408 comments Speaking of Mass Effect - I'm still on my Mass Effect 2 insanity run. It's mostly fine and great fun. Every few missions I get stuck replaying a section for an hour though. Usually have to figure out some sort of cheese to move forward again.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments A few days ago I was starting to get hyped for PSVR2 when I saw mine was preparing to ship.....2 days later they are still preparing...

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Think I'm going to need a break from Wild Hearts. Definitely enjoying it, but like all Monster Hunter types (for me, at least) it can be as frustrating as you can get. Overall, do think it's a slight step up from MH.

Hi everyone.

So...i started AC Odyssey.
Will play another game in 2024... lol.

Also, i was about to haw Atomic Heart for the PS5 but at the last moment i turned on the X and found the game available on gamepass and saved 80 bucks!
Im really looking forward to play it and by the time i finish AC Odyssey the game will have 70 gb worth of updates which is perfect.

I've been reading a lot of the reviews for Atomic Heart. Not sure I'm so keen now. The open world parts are under used and have no missions in them, frustrating to navigate through for getting from A to B due to the constant and wearing battles, there is platforming which is frustrating and not well done and many reviewers struggled to get enough resources to get more powerful weapons. The story is apparently lacking but the world and artwork is supposed to be very good akin to Bioshock without being a rip-off. It doesn't look a bad game, it seems to sit around a 7/10 but I'm really not into frustration - might give it a try but I have so much I can play at the moment it's slipping down the list. I don't like starting games and then binning them off later.

Yeah. Thats why the game will probably be a lot better after a couple of updates.
I also feel the same way for Callisto Protocol. Im still waiting for more patches until i can feel confident im actually playing the most finished and better version.

Morning all. Finished off the last bit of Spider-man DLC last night and it wasn't very good. Mediocre at best. Not sure I'll do an NG+ on ultimate diff for the 100% either.

Came across my first problem trophy on Tiny Tina. Gunzerk continuously for 90 secs. I've levelled up a bit and put points into all the relevant skills for extending the time but just don't seem to last long enough. I remember it being a pain in the main BL2 game but in this standalone DLC I can't even go to the area I used to use get this trophy. I can't be that far away but it's difficult to start a stop watch at the right time to check. I'm level 13 with my Gunzerker and have a class mod to extend the time but I need to be level 22 to equip it. Not sure I fancy the grind atm.

Think I might put Tiny Tina on the back burner for now and start Outriders tonight.

Powerpyx, a YouTuber specialising in trophies guides has apparently said Atomic Heart is a bit of a broken mess on launch.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I'd have picked Atomic Heart up if it weren't for PSVR 2. If the trophies are broke, it's probably a good thing I'll be waiting to pick it up cheap.

Yea I think I'll give it a couple of months probably on Atomic Heart. Callisto didn't appeal to me after watching game play vids. Don't know why, perhaps it's the emphasis on melee. I'll play the Dead Space remake but it will be on EA Play eventually and as I played it back in the day I'm in no rush and I'll be able to play it for free.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments When it comes to deliveries, I tend to fear the worst. If 2 parcels were to be sent, 1 to the moon. the other to Northern Ireland, I'd normally bet on the moon one arriving first. So it's a bit of a shock to find my PSVR2 has arrived. Looking forward to a bit of GT7 and Resi Village later. Also got the Horizon VR game and although I'm sure it'll probably showcase VR2 well, it can wait. Seems to be quite a few cheapish launch games too that might end up on the basket

Had a wee look at what's inside, and thankfully, the new controllers are a bit more solid than they look.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I'll also say the decrease in cables is already a huge improvement. Might set it up at lunch ;)

Glassmoon - The Benny Hill of Plats | 779 comments Mod
PSVR was probably the worst money i´ve spent in the last 3 or 4 years.
I cant deny its pretty amazing when i play it but i can never find the right time to use it.
If its during the day i dont use it cause its sun outside and after 30 minutes i feel like i´ve been in a solitary detention cell for 2 days.
Ifs its night time, im usually tired enough not to feel like its worth the hassle and the brain exaustion.
So...i havent touched it for almost a year now. :/

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I definitely don't regret PSVR, but it did spend a lot of time gathering dust.

Obviously, it's dependent on games, but think VR2 will be used more. Extremely early days, but so far - the controllers are (unsurprisingly) far more intuitive than the Move controllers and not having to worry about the PS camera is a lot more freeing, for me at least, I feel I can relax a bit more in relation to my surroundings.

Played a little of Resi Village at lunch, and it is great. I think I'll be playing through it on the lowest difficulty though - healing for example, you have to take the medicine out of your pocket, pop the lid off, and pour it over yourself. I think on harder difficulties, I'm likely to punch myself by accident doing that ;)

So far, it's a sizeable improvement for me. Looking forward to messing about with it more a bit later

That sounds amazing mate.
I had a blast playing TWD Saints and Sinners in VR. It was really immersive. Way too much at times.

Hi all. I started Outriders last night but didn't make it past the end of the prologue. It's not quite what I thought it would be and the writing was terrible so quit out before unlocking a trophy and having to commit to it.

Will see how I feel about trying it again tonight as last night possibly wasn't the best night to start a new game but I might just go back to grinding the remaining trophies out of Tiny Tina.

Glassmoon - The Benny Hill of Plats | 779 comments Mod
Morning all.

Im already enjoying AC Odyssey as im feeling the same things as in Origins.
I just love the gaming loop. I do a couple of small missions, explore 2 or 3 undiscoreved locations and do a main mission before calling it a night just like i did in Origins.
I know it will take me forever and its the same formula but sometimes its good to play a game just for good fun.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Outriders doesn't make a great first impression, but once you start getting more powers it's not bad. Gameplay wise at least, can't say I remember the story in the slightest it made that much of an impression ;)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Played a mix of VR2 games and have to say it's a definite improvement for me. It changed GT7 from feeling like a very dated drive to being a lot of fun. No Man's Sky feels like a different game completely, a couple of things don't quite work but generally it's more fun. A few other smaller games played as well and I'm liking what I've seen....apart from Horizon so far. Its pretty much a mountain climbing sim but it's still early days.

I'm finding the device itself more comfortable as well, not had any in game uneasiness. Thumbs up so far

message 2383: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks Deck, I'll probably give it another chance soon.

@Phil - apparently Ubisoft are releasing a patch for AC Syndicate tomorrow to make it playable on PS5.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Should have said, Outriders is a 2 for 1 plat. Once you've pinged the PS5 version, stick on the last gen one for an instant pop. Dont remember any real sticking points either (comparatively)

message 2385: by Error (new)

Error | 408 comments Personally, I had a great time with Outriders. Twice. I loved the powers and shooting in the game. Very weighty. Great looking game as well. I thought the story served to set up the strange world the game takes place in. Certainly not worse than average. I'd recommend the Trickster or Pyromancer class if you try again Equinox.

message 2386: by [deleted user] (new)

I remember you saying before it was a 2 for 1 plat. Tbh that's the main reason it was on my radar ;)

I didn't find the combat weighty, quite the opposite in fact. Graphically it reminds me of a PS360 era game.

I'm guessing it opens up after the prologue, at which point I assume you pick a class.

message 2387: by Error (new)

Error | 408 comments Lol - perhaps I was playing some other game Equinox. Hopefully you find a better experience after the prologue. If not, oh well! Plenty of other games out there for all of us!

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I'm not seeing eye to eye with Horizon Call of the Mountain. Of all the games I've played on PSVR and VR2, it's been the least fun. For me, it's been a combination of poorly thought-out sections followed by tediousness. The climbing is a little awkward at the best of times, but when they have climbing sections that you have to sneak past watchers that don't give you much time to get past unnoticed, it's not great. Seems a daft thing to put in relatively early in the game. Maybe it'll get better further on, but at the minute I've more fun to be having elsewhere to put myself through it.

Guys, for anyone who played AC Odyssey...is there any way to disable enemy and animals outlines?
I really really hate this feature.
I did a mission yesterday where i had to kill a couple of sharks but it completely killed the immersion. I coulnd even see the sharks skin color. All i saw was a white outline of its body. Really stupid.
I get why it exists but there should be an option to turn it off.
Im pretty sure Origins had that option...

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments No idea Glass, it wasn't something I found intrusive or even noticed, so wouldn't have looked

Morning all. I didn't start anything new over the weekend since completing TLOU pt 1 last week. Did some quests on Warframe, some decent missions and a boss fight that at first I thought was rock hard but in the end I just needed to learn the best way to approach it. Completed several more levels on Sackboy - some levels were cracking and others I found a bit of a bind/frustrating. And then wasted a couple of hours playing COD and BF5 multiplayer. COD I rarely do well on nowadays but my final game I had 20 kills 8 deaths which is good for me. Next weekend I think I may have to do DIY again - :-( - but I'm going to start a new game too if I can which I think may be Atomic Heart.

I've been keeping an eye on PSVR2 watching youtube vids of reviews and the games. As a piece of kit it looks great but not one game that grabs me at all, at the moment. I think Half Life Alyx may entice me, or more games like it.

Oh and I've been watching The Last of Us TV series - I've seen all released to now. It's pretty good. I think they've caught the essence of the game, the actors aren't bad - I think the Ellie actor is good. Pascal is not bad but I think they've softened his character a little. And I've noticed they've left some sections of the game out completely, and changed some story elements for example Joel falling on a spike to being stabbed instead. All in all I like it but I do think the game story/character/acting wise is better. The episode that fleshed out Bill and Frank's story I thought was great even though they changed the ending of that too. I suppose the game is the benchmark but there's no reason why they can't equal or even surpass it.

Ping! Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A One Shot Adventure

It didn't take me too long to finish off the separate character trophies in the end and helped I got the awkward ones done first. Could have happily carried on playing with the Siren as that is my 2nd favourite class after the Commando. But no more trophies so I move on (and hope they do a PS5 re-release of BL2).

Decided to give Outriders another try if only for the promise of a straight forward double plat. I've chosen the Pyromancer class and can see it becoming more interesting once I start unlocking more skills etc.

Wasn't really in the mood to start it last week so will start again with a clean slate and give it another chance. Enough folk on here like it so it must be half decent at least.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Mostly knocking off some Gran Turismo 7 trophies in VR. No chance of the plat though, no way I'll be able to manage the gold in all licences. On top of that, of the few trophies left, one of them is apparently a massive grind for cash. I plan to try and knock out the multiplayer trophies over the weekend, then I can always come back to the others at some point if I'm feeling masochistic

message 2398: by [deleted user] (new)

It was mainly the S licences that stopped me getting the Gran Turismo 6 plat on the PS3. I had a few other awkward trophies too but didn't bother with knowing the plat was a bust.

Played more Outriders last night. The jury is still out but it is growing on me a bit more.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Yeah the times needed for the one lap time trials for the final licence in 7 doesn't look any easier. I've managed gold in the rest (with a bit of struggle) but trying to get gold in the rest would likely do my head in
