What have you been playing: before the forum was deleted?

A bit more Wreckfest for me last night. I'm onto the last championship now and cleared the challenges trophy despite still having one left to do. Will Tale that though.
The road to the platinum looks fairly clear but getting to level 50 might be a grind.

Hi all. I’ve been having a break from work this week but did manage to complete Atomic Heart. A real mixed bag of a game with bioshock type combat, a really pointless and frustrating open world, the game shines in the below ground more linear levels but then suffers from being too OTT with enemies coming at you relentlessly. And the story is ok, nothing special but told in such a way it just goes on and on and on with voiceovers, and the dialogue is childish at times - if I hear ‘crispy critters’ again I could lose it. Difficult to score on the r-score-o-meter but it would vary a lot, but probably somewhere around a 7/10.
Not sure what to play next but I do have PS Plus Extra now after it went on sale. I’m thinking either Horizon Forbidden West or Ghost Wire Tokyo. If you guys have any thoughts on these, either way, good or bad, that would be great. I did play the first Horizon game and for me it was a good game but nowt special and in the latter half of the game I found it monotonous but I do like nice shiny graphics 😀.

Ghostwire Tokyo is decent enough, bit more style than substance though.
Both decent enough plays, maybe not anything to write home about but solid efforts
I've not played either of those yet R but Horizon Forbidden West would be my choice of the two.
I wasn't overly fond of Zero Dawn either but looking forward to playing FW using the extra grunt of the PS5.
I saw they'd added the PS5 version bundle of UC4 and Lost Legacy too (Legacy of Thieves). Weirdly both games share a trophy list with only 1 plat between them.

Thanks Deckard. Yea I think I’ll probably go Forbidden West. I read some reviews on Ghostwire which hasn’t excited me. Plus I really want to see Horizon graphics on PS5. I’m also slightly drawn to Death Stranding but I’m really not sure on the game play but I do love Kojima’s craziness.

Played around a bit in Dark Souls and Dragons Dogma yesterday, but don't think either of them is going to stick at the minute. And still waiting for that last legendary car in GT7, it's getting a bit ridiculous. Might reinstall Grid once it finally pops ;)

I have a friend who raved about the Diablo IV beta all last weekend and now I'm tempted to pre-order so I can play it this weekend. Buying a full price game is kind of against my video game morals but I don't know...I'm torn.

I'll be picking it up day one and was planning to avoid the beta to go into it with a clean slate, but I'm curious now, so it's queued to download
Hi all. I’ve managed to put a good few hours into Horizon Forbidden West, around half way through the campaign. Actually really quite enjoying it. The world looks really good and I’m actually enjoying the combat. However the game is by no means perfect IMO. The cut scenes are so frequent and long they’re starting to grate. I’m constantly getting stuck on the terrain in the middle of combat which is annoying and the platforming mostly is fine and then some jumps just end up in failure even though it seemed straightforward beforehand. Anyway minor niggles and on the whole so far glad I gave the game a go.

Resi 4, I'm not really feeling it at the minute. No worse than the 2 or 3 remakes, but the early areas at least feel a bit dated in terms of the level design. Gameplay wise it's fine but other games do a better job of giving the illusion the area you are in is just a small part of a larger world. I'm sure once it gets going it'll be fine though.
And finally Ping! Gran Turismo 7 double plat. They really dragged that last car out but pretty happy it's in the bag now.
Hi all
I almost cracked and hawed Resi 4 yesterday.
But im so unused to spend full price on a game that i managed to resist.
Not sure it will last though...

Morning all
I think i will be trying Atomic Heart for a break from AC Odyssey.
AC Odyssey is pretty good but i feel like i´ve been doing the same things for 36 hrs now and i still so much left to explore that im starting to think i need a second game to alernate a bit.
...or i could haw Resi 4.

I played a bunch of the Diablo IV beta. Maxed out a necromancer and then tried a rogue for a while. Essentially, it's Diablo aspiring to be the best version of itself. Giant map, great graphics, everything feels organic. The story missions were surprisingly well acted and impactful. I'm wondering how much I'll enjoy the endgame, but playing through the campaign should be a treat.

Wo long gets a thumbs up from me as well. Initially wasn't sure about the pretty major gameplay changes from the 2 Nioh games but by the end would have happily played more. Considering how crap I am at parrying in other games, deflecting blows was mostly satisfying and enjoyable

I did learn an invaluable lesson that is sure to benefit me greatly in future....I seem to be marginally better at left hand turns than I am right ;)
Mates
My 10 year old kid tried to indocrinate me this morning on Roblox.
All of his friends play and all that jazz.
Does anyone know if its a cool game for him?
Im very strict on what games i let him play so im not sure. He can play games like Fifa, Minecraft (offline), Pokemon etc.

Mullet guys, come on.
I've not heard much about Roblox but I know JackFrags recently played a COD clone in Roblox which was impressive. So I think it's a platform where people can create their own games - some quite sophisticated like what you'd see in a AAA game but anyone can be a creator. So in that case anything goes in terms of game type. Whether it's suitable for children I've no idea.

Thanks guys
I´ll investigate a bit more and install it on the xbox.
This way is easier to see what he´s playing.
Cant be worse then the scare he got one day when i was playing Alien Isolation and he was peeking.. haha.

Despite having a silly backlog again, I was hoping to find something in the PS Sping Sale to haw but everything I want is still too much.
TLOU Pt1 shouldn't still be ov..."
TLoU pt1 went down to £42 for the physical edition at a few places (including Amazon) in Black Friday, but has gone back up and is staying up everywhere again now.
Frustrating when newer games like Callisto Protocol can already be had for £35ish quite easily.
I've decided I'm just going to get TLoU remastered the next time it dips under £10 in a sale, rather than pt1, unless pt1 is in a sale for £35 or less before then - which I doubt will happen!

The online WRC10 trophies aren't as bad as they sound. I generally try and avoid online trophies but these weren't much of a hassle as far as I remember. Even the co-driver ones, just pick a short, simple course and say nothing. Takes a few minutes and minimum effort
Morning all
Thank God its friday!
So, anyone´s getting Dead Island 2?
Cant believe its finally coming.
I truly hope the game its actually good as im in the minority who still prefers Dead Island over Dying Light.

Dead Island was a perfect mixture of fun (when in the vacations area) and horror (slums).
And not having the night and day cycle was great as it let us play at our own pace.
I hope DI2 retains the same formula.

i was interested in a more in-depth game about being a paper route, but i've played lots of varying-quality small indie games and didn't go in with many expectations.
it's made in unity, sprite work is fun to look at, and it has a sense of humor. i was really intrigued when i thought it was simply top-down, and an NPC told me i could rotate the camera. i haven't played very long but my expectations were surpassed for the little 3 dollar game. i really like it.
seems like a lot more features than i expected. after i played the first day, some more stuff showed up. what looked like a bonfire savepoint appeared in the work headquarters, and i was given the option to sleep at work, as well as skipping my day at work to play in some weird janky "fight club".
i really dig it, i'm gonna keep playing more and see if more fun features appear.

Today started and binned off both Resi 0 and REmake. I appreciate their classic status (especially REmake) but they're massively products of their time and life is too short to try and slog through games which in all honesty just aren't up to modern standards. It's not the graphics, which are still remarkably pretty, but the controls and almost debilitating camera angles. Obviously I knew all about the tank controls, but you can't fully appreciate it until you play!
Anyway - not for me, so a trilogy it is, ps5 remakes of Resi 2, 3 & 4. That's still plenty to be getting on with i think!!

Titanfall 2 will most likely remain unplatted because of THAT trophy and I'm put off playing the PS4 versions of UC1-3 as they decided to include speed trophies. I don't know why they do it.
