What have you been playing: before the forum was deleted?
Yea I’m still looking forward to AW2 but I might not buy it on release.
I’ve completed Jedi Survivor. Really enjoyed it. A definite improvement on the first game which in itself was decent. I liked the varied environments, the exploration (with fast travel) and combat. Characters were engaging. Probably one of my favourite games of the current generation. Only let down by poor performance and low resolution albeit with really great graphics and artwork otherwise. Probably a 9.5/10 on the r-score-o-meter but I’m knocking a point off due to the really poor performance so an 8.5/10 ;-).
I’ve started Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart. Probably played 2-3 hours. Really good so far. And ok it’s not as big scale wise as Jedi Survivor but the choices between Performance Ray Tracing, Performance and 120hz are really well implemented. No real massive hits to resolution like Jedi Survivor. A really crisp looking game whatever you choose.

Morning all
Fought my first boss in Atomic Heart.
The giant ball robot in a huge round garden.
After dying 6 or 7 times i turned it down to easy and kill it at the first try.
Either im too old for these quick moving bosses or the devs went a bit crazy with this one but before i let my irritation get the best of me i turned it down to easy.
Im still enjoying the game quite a bit and, so far, it still hasnt lost its charm.

Yea some of the boss fight Glass are tricky. I played it on easy too and it still had some difficultly spikes. Honestly those two upgrades I mentioned earlier make it a lot easier. I died a few times on the same boss fight as you and later on one or two other boss fights were even trickier. Then some are pretty straightforward - but all a lot easier with the upgrades I mentioned.

If I can do it, with my intolerance to frustration, it's not that tricky. That being said it does have it moments but not too bad. Defo worth it if ever on PS+ or picked up for cheap.

Dont get me wrong mate. The game is not easy but its no Dark Souls.
Im playing on normal (apart from the boss) and, with the upgrades im using, im not having a tough time.
I died several times in the boss i mentioned but, after starting to figure out his moves and turning it down to easy, i beat it in the first try and with no great effort.
I think its worth you try it out.

So...aparently i bought this game called Antartica 88 last night while i was browsing the Xbox store and almost falling asleep...
I checked my email and i have the hawing ocnfirmation and i vaguely remember reading about the game and thinking it was somewhat interesting.
This is what i call a stealth hawing if there ever was one... :/

Never heard of it.
One game I am looking forward to playing is Planet of Lana. It's lined up for me to play after Ratchet and Clank. In the style of Limbo and Inside and has received great reviews. Included on Games Pass.

You like the Lego games?
I´ve been playing them over the weekends when i just want a nice colorfull and innocent game to entertain me.
It turned into its own thing at the weekends to a point where i dont have all that much lego games left.
I just finished Lego Harry Potter and had a blast. Enormous games though. It took me 30ish hrs believe ir or not.

Hey Deckard - I'm sixty some hours into Persona 5 now. I've identified my next target after recruiting the hacker. How much longer is the game at this point?

I've played one Lego game: Lego Batman 2 - quite some time ago. I remember quite enjoying it but it's not a series that floats my boat to play another.

Played a wee bit of Street Fighter 6, and not many complaints about it either.

been playing PSVR2 all weekend, Resi 8 and Beat Sabre !! amazing

Not sure its for me , but i would like a look at it .
As Xbox name has been all over it i assumed it was Gamepass game, gutted to see it wasnt

I seen many folks online getting excited about the art direction. Did you find anything interesting in that Deckard?
I generally don't get to play games much during the business week, but I'll be digging back into Diablo over the next few days. Maybe I'll complete chapter 2 while Deckard gets the plat or something.

Morning all. I had a week off work last week but I did manage to complete Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. It was really good. Really good graphics. Really good combat and a good mixture of worlds and environments to explore. I'm not sure I liked the spider bot and clank puzzle missions - seemed to pull me out of the fun worlds and combat but hey at least they added some variety. I was suprised how buggy it was though - missions not progressing because I couldn't kill all enemies as they were stuck in out of reach places where I couldn't kill them, or actually inside inaccessible buildings - I could see them popping through. And enemies getting stuck on the terrain out of sight which made it difficult to find them to progress to the next part of the mission. I liked the openness of it all. An 8.5/10 on the r-score-o-meter.
Oh and I got the platinum trophy ;-). Although one trophy was a pain to get - took me 90 mins to get ten kills in a special way which was really annoying.
I've started Planet of Lana on Games Pass. Very much a Limbo/Inside game and very very good - great graphics, atmosphere, artwork and nice but relaxing puzzles. And really chilled music. Every bit as good as Limbo/Inside so far. And I love the alien invasion theme - it's really well done.

I've started a new character in Diablo IV, plan to take my time with this one. Only started Act 2 but already my necromancer is a higher level than my druid finished the game at.
I’m not sure what to play after Planet of Lana, seeing as it’s just a short game. Nothing really on my backlog which is AAA and new, nor anything much I’m excited to play on ps plus extra and games pass. I am wondering about giving Death Stranding a go but it really doesn’t look my thing game play wise and it’s a long campaign for a walking sim but I do like Kojima’s craziness. I loved MGS 4 and 5.

congrats on the plat , its one of my few plats, i really enjoyed the game.
Death Stranding is such a weird game, i played 40+ hours and I still couldnt tell you if i liked it or not. Its certainly nothing like a MGS game. Apart from the weirdness. It took a good 15 hours before i got even close to getting the hook

Thanks guys. I can only give it a go and see how I get on - I don't like binning games but I'm not that adverse to it really. It's a game that's always intrigued me but on the face of it looks a bit tedious and long - but you never know until you try.

worth a try , its definitley different
I guess it does look a bit MGS in places. But don't go in expecting MGS, expect DPD delivery simulator and lots of walking

Yes delivery simulator doesn't really float my boat. Worth a go.

It's weird tho R, its a kind of theraputic loop and even though i cant say i liked the game and i did literally ask myself why i was playing it ..... i kept playing it and finshed it . Im still amazed i finshed it and i dont think i want anything to do with a sequel ..... but then again as i say there is something about it

Strangely I’ve enjoyed a few walking sims in the past but they’ve only been a few hours long. 40 plus hours definitely wouldn’t have suited the walking sims I’ve played.

Technically you could call it part walking sim I suppose, but you'd have to sue all other walking sims for misrepresenting their products. In fact, I'll happily sue the makers of Everybody's gone to the rapture, I might not be able to get the time wasted on looking for glowing orbs back but they should definitely have compensate me for even attempting that rubbish ;)

yeah its not a walking sim at all, albeit you walk alot , but there are also a lot of gameplay mechanics to contend with too, including through grenades full of your own piss and poo at Ghosts ... got to love Kojima

That’s why I like Kojima games lol.

What about Firewatch? Did you play it and like it?

i really liked firewatch
I dont mind a walking sim if its got a great story

I will say the dungeons are a bit too samey and can feel a bit of a slog once you are past lvl 50. I've no other real complaints about it and will likely play it on and off for the foreseeable future.
Definitely a big improvement over 3 but it's not replacing Diablo 2 for me
I'm interested in Starfield. The recent Xbox Showcase presented a lot more and it looked good. Seems to offer a hell of a lot more than No Man's Sky - more RPG elements, combat which looks decent, conversations, story, locations which are not procedurally generated. The only things that seem common are the procedural generation of some but not all of the planets, resource gathering and space travel and maybe combat (but combat looks a lot deeper in Starfield). There are procedurally generated worlds but there are also crafted worlds too with a hand crafted cities to carry forward a story with NPGs and dialogue. Starfield seems a lot broader and deeper than No Man's Sky.
Hopefully, it'll keep me going until Diablo and away from doing something daft like pick up Streetfighter 6 at the end of the week....
