DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments It would probably be one I'd have an interest in if I hadn't given up on Xbox. Haven't been near mine in many months, and I think I'll stick to one console going forward.

That said, am I right in saying there's going to be another Forza Motorsport next rather than a Forza Avatar Fashion Show (aka Horizon)?

Thats good to hear, i didnt watch the whole dive , but what i did see looked very NMS, glad tp hear there is more to it.

Yes Decks teh next Forza is normal racing one

Its so nice to see something more than just Forza, Halo and Gears from MS, seems like thats all we have had for like a decade

AlienGirl54 | 46 comments Hi guys, hope everyone's ok. Sorry I'm not on here much but work is still stupid busy most of the time.

Finished Valhalla, all of them, I think it was around 345 hours ...

Knocked Arkham City off my backlog and I've got Chernobylite locked and loaded at the moment. Played a little bit and I think the mechanics might take some getting used to for me, but we'll see how we go. Some good and bad things said on here about it and it looked really good to me, so I'm hoping it all works out.

May be back on here in a few months time!! :)

Wow...I'm extremely impressed by your dedication to Valhalla. That play time is just ridiculous. The only Assassin's Creed I've ever been able to finish is 2, no for lack of trying others.

Morning all

Finished Atomic Heart.
It was a cool game. It could have been a lot more but in the end i consider it just a fps with traces of immersive sim that never go anywhere.
It had material to go way beyond that but the devs kept it simple and focused on a solid and imaginative fps.
I had fun with it and hopefully they make it a bit more complex in the sequel.
I give it a 7/10.

Started Dead island 2 and so far so good. It feels a bit diferent from the DI1 but its too early to tell.
I was blown away by the house that becomes the first safe zone.
Jesus Christ...how can people live in houses like that? I spent more time exploring and admiring the house than actually playing the game.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Yeah Dead Island 2 does have a different feel to it. To me it seemed less fun and more of a struggle. Maybe I wasn't quite in the mood for it at the time though, I'll go back to it at some point but not looking forward to a certain bit after the first safe house

Last night was my second session and i confess i wasnt feeling it after the first one.
But yesterday it clicked a bit more. I upgraded my fist weapont and got acess to the workbench and i imediately felt like in DI1.
Again, its too early but im confident i´ll enjoy it.

That said...what "certain bit"? :(

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Not sure how far past the first safe house you've got, but there's an enemy who really isn't a lot of fun.

345 hrs??
That a lot of time spent.

Is it better the Odyssey?
I think its a good game but it never clicked like Origins did.
I think it was the setting. AC games are all about the setting, imo and it ends up depending a lot on the personal taste of the player.

Valhalla draws me a bit more then the greek world in terms of setting so i´ll probably enjoy it more.

Im in the first safe house. Emma´s mansion. Not sure if its her name but she´s the actress with the ridiculous big house.
Just met Sam B who gave me acess to the first workbench after defending from a horde and closing the gate.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Up to that point, I was definitely enjoying it. Thought it had got off to a promising start. Be interested to hear how you get on with the next bit Glass ;)

Haha.
Now im stressing it out. :P
Is it a boss???

Im trying to remember the worst parts of DI1 and the only thing that comes to mind is that part in some slums where the runners kept coming endlessly until we leave the area. That was annoying as hell.

Im curious to see what what you make of it.
I still think its a good game with also a good if somewhat confusing story.

Its on Gamepass.
Not sure if you have it though.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I cancelled my sub a few months back, might sub again once Forza Motorsport is out, but in no hurry.

Glassmoon - The Benny Hill of Plats | 779 comments Mod
I see.

I have a good balance with both my PS5 and Xbox X.
I use Gamepass to play games on the X with the ocasional hawing and only buy games (mostly on sale) for the PS5.
That´s why i dont upgrade my Ps Plus subscription. Searching for cool games on the sales is part of the fun.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Spent most of the weekend on Elite Dangerous and Park Beyond. Park Beyond is pretty much what you'd expect from a theme park type, but the interface is a bit more clunky than Planet Coaster and had a few other niggles that hold it back a little. But overall, not bad if you like the type.

Also decided there's no point in me subbing to the higher PS+ tiers either, so knocked it back down to basic. Just doesn't really fit the way I game

Not much gaming for me at the weekend. Lost my gaming mojo a bit. I did play a few hours on Planet of Lana which is still excellent but Sunday I was feeling a bit knackered so didn't fire up my consoles.

I've learned a bit more about Alan Wake 2. It appears to be quite a lengthy game, the devs say 20 hours long - probably means a little less in reality but still sounds meaty. The one thing that has put me off the game is that it sounds like they moved it to be a Resident Evil clone rather than be its own thing as a continuation of Alan Wake (which I loved). So bullet spongey enemies, much more survival horror and scarcity of ammo. For many this will be music to their ears, but for me this is why I don't play Resi games. Alan Wake 1 was not a Resident Evil clone game. So, for me, defo wait for reviews and a price drop on Alan Wake 2.

Also I checked on future releases on games pass. In September and October games pass games which launch on day one: Starfield, Forza, Lies of P and Payday 3. That's pretty impressive.

Morning all

Making my way through Dead island 2.
Im really liking it.
I reached that boss Deck was teasing me and its done.
This game is all about using the right tools for each situation we´re facing.

After leaving the hotel i went back to the safe house and, after loading the next area...its night time. I instantly got that Dying Light scary vibe and call it quits. I need to be mentally prepared for the darkness. lol
Great game so far.

Oh, i also hawed Dear Esther as i heard a lot about the game and it was 1,25 eur so whatever.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments It's the thought of more fights like that (and likely worse) that put me off continuing Dead Island 2. There are definitely worse bosses out there, but compared to the rest of the game to that point, it's just wasn't a lot of fun.

I think you may have entered the fight underleveled and probably used the wrong type of weapons. I believe chosing the right type is very important in the game.
I started the fight using a 160 lv maming weapon and i was doing small amounts of damage.
Then i changed to a lv 90 bulldozer weapon which drains the enemies stamina very quickly and always deals critical damage with strong attacks and everytime she became stunned and vulnerable (after the stamina drained completely) i used critical strong attacks and she was down very quickly.
I also kept using the bait curveball whenever there was too many zombies around and it was less stressfull then you might think.

This game as a more strategic side then DI 1 that we must pay attention when in combat.
Im now learning that i need 2 strong weapons of the four times always available for any situation.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments To be honest, I might go back to it sooner rather than later. Nothing's really scratching the itch at the minute

Phil, psn: p4tiny | 197 comments Last night I finished TLoU remastered (so that's the ps4 game) which was the first time playing the first TLoU in 10 years.

Still fantastic. Played on ps5 and even technically holds up pretty well for what is essentially a ps3 game.

Started TLoU pt2. Wow. It's like GoW 2018 and Days Gone in that if someone told me it was a native ps5 game I wouldn't question it. And the facial animations, the realistic expressions...it's just second-to-none.

I'm only just at the start still really so can't comment on the story (although I know the main beats) but gameplay is brilliantly improved and I'm liking it all a lot.

Hi Phil

I plan to replay Tlou 1 (for the 4th time) once the re-remastered is on sale for PS5. After that i´ll also replay Tlou 2 with some fresh eyes.
I didnt like the story at all but the game itself was good despite some serious pacing problems imo.

Still enjoying Dead island 2.
I have to say this. DI 1 is the most gamer friendly AAA game i´ve played in a long time. One can tell it was a labour of passion from the devs and the attention to detail is impressive. It truly feels like a game made just for us to have fun with what we paid for.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Really not sure what I'm in the mood for. Taking a scattergun approach and have reinstalled Pathfinder, Phoenix Point, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, Remnant from the ashes & Salt and Sacrifice. Hopefully one of those keeps me from jumping around too much

AlienGirl54 | 46 comments Hi guys, hope you are all well.

re my hours on AC games, it nearly always includes every DLC and expansion, so it's not just the main game.

Also, I get so involved in the worlds, I hate leaving them and so will often spend hours huntin', shootin' and fishin' and just wanderin' around the place.

Not sure about Chernobylite, it's turning out to be something other than I thought. I'm not much into basebuilding (or even making friends!) so I'm not sure how much longer I'll carry on with it

message 2787: by Error (new)

Error | 408 comments Oooh...Salt & Sacrifice. That is one I've always wanted to play. Love that art style. I thought Remnant: From the Ashes was really great and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments The sequel was part of the reason I've reinstalled Remnant. Plan to do the same with Lords of the Fallen. Two upcoming games I'm mildly interested in, but a bit wary of so will probably pick up cheap rather than day one. Giving the older games a go might push me one way or another

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments .....so of course I spent most of the weekend playing F1 Manager 22 instead....

Morning all

Finished Minecraft Dungeons which i was playing over the last 3 or 4 weekends.
Its a cool game. A very simplified but very enjoyable Diablo style game but with some surprisingly difficult spikes that left me wondering who is this game for.
Overal its a 6,5/10.

Still playing Dead Island 2 and so far its my Goty.

Morning all. Finally completed Planet of Lana. Absolutely cracking game - same genre as Limbo, Inside - with excellent artwork, graphics, atmosphere, puzzles, music and some really errie and impressive vistas. Good little story - nothing complex but switches between happy, sad and tense moments. So good it's probably a 10/10 on the r-score-o-meter. I'm trying to fault it but can't. Maybe one or two platforming moments were a little flaky but nothing game breaking.

Next for me. Could be Death Stranding - downloaded but still unsure I even want to start it.

Will definitly check Planet of Lana.
I like to play games i dont usually play over the weekends.

Death Stranding...I stopped playing after my last summer vacations but i do plan to start again on the PS5.

Try it but take your time with it. Its not a game to rush but more to cherish the most simple moments.

TLoU pt2...absolutely fantastic gameplay, acting, graphics, animations, but I do have to say that everything feels a bit drawn out...every section feel like it has at least 2 too-many encounters. Still, it's all very enjoyable. Roughly 16 hours clocked and only just finished Ellie day 3 lol.

I am playing on hard though, and being extremely meticulous in searching absolutely everywhere for resources.

Both TLOU1 and TLOU2 are both so good. TLOU2 though is the better game IMO. It's a long old game for a linear game but as it's so good it more than justifies its length. And the controls and mechanics feel better than TLOU1. And of course the environments and graphics are better. For me the only part of TLOU2 that's up for debate on being worse than TLOU1 is the story. And without intending to spoil anything - as I know the TLOU2 story divided opinion - the story in TLOU2 is brilliant. It really creates conflict in the player and actually makes you think whether certain characters are good or bad and do you forgive them or not, or at least understand their justifications and reasons. And you can drop on either side of the fence depending on how you feel about the reasons for certain actions. Such a brave and well constructed dilemma created by Naughty Dog - even if you disagree with certain aspects of the story.

I personally had many issues with Tlou2.
Visually and gameplay wise i have no complaints.
I did find the pacing not that good and i do remember feeling very bored in the last section of the game.

Regarding the story...I understand where they were aiming but i dont think the way it was written was good.
There were some plot holes, inconsistencies and out of character choices that simply cannot happen when a writter wants to create a clever and deep story.

I felt mentally drained when i finished and not in a good way.
its like somebody asks me if i want to feel something and then kicks me in the balls and says "do you feel it?"
I feel it alright but not in a good or deep way...
That´s the best analogy i can come up with.

"its like somebody asks me if i want to feel something and then kicks me in the balls and says "do you feel it?""

That's exactly what happened lol. Honestly, the game definitely kicks you in the balls and then asks questions about it.

I quite liked the changes in pace. As the game play can be very intense so to just soak environments and some dialogue was needed - for me at least.

The only bit I didn't like of the game was a certain boss fight near the end that was in two parts - and I didn't like the first part at all.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments To be honest, I didn't think the story was too bad, nothing to throw the toys out of the pram about. But I do think you are being a bit generous towards ND though R. From a company that thought growing old serial killer Nate a sibling out of nowhere was a good idea, I'd wager the story was stumbled upon and they are a bit fortunate that some people choose to interpret it differently.

I was never a fan of Uncharted for story, or even the characters. And I only really liked Uncharted 2 - but that was more from game play, improvements from Uncharted 1 and the multiplayer - which was something a little different from other multiplayers at the time. U3 and U4 yea they were decent games but I couldn't tell you the stories. TLOU1-2 however I remember the stories and characters.
