What have you been playing: before the forum was deleted?
I'd watched an extended gameplay video a couple of days ago and thought, hmm doesn't quite look as satisfying as I remember. But having started it, it's still a great wee game, with loads of atmosphere .
Up to Chapter 6 in Dead Space, which, considering it took me a couple of years first time around, is good progress. Not finding it half as intense as I did back in the day but still think it's a great wee game.Being playing more Persona 3 alongside it, and enjoying it as well
Hi all. Not a lot of gaming for me this weekend despite wanting to make a dent on a list of games. Just can't find the time/energy these days but have a few days off this week so will get some quality time in soon at least.
I decided to chip away at some DLC so did a few races on the Dirt 5 add ons as I want to get this to 100% like I did the PS4 version.
I noticed the other week PS+ Extra grants access to the PS4 Spider-man GOTY edition so deleted my standard version and downloaded that instead. Made a start on the Black Cat Heist DLC which is OK. Having recently played the PS5 version of Miles Morales, the PS4 games are noticably less crisp and smooth. Still OK though.

Finished Assassin's Creed Origins over the weekend (might have been late Friday night, not sure!). Cracking game, and played on ps5 with locked 60fps and all that it was a pleasure. When I say finished I mean the main quest and enough side quests to get my level high enough to make the main quest doable. I think about 80 quests completed from the total of 127 available, and in about 30 hrs. Nowhere near the plat - 51% of trophies, but that's all she wrote :) fantastic but finished :)Quite a step down technically from everything else I have played so far on the ps5 which has either all been native ps5 games (e.g. Resi Village) or Sony first-party games which have been patched to within an inch of their life to look and play like native ps5 games (Days Gone, GoW 2018). But Origins was still smooth, vibrant and a fantastic world that just felt full of life.
Next Crysis remastered and then I reckon Resi 2 and Resi 3 back-to-back, but am really looking forward to Odyssey because Origins was so fun - I just don't want to suffer AC/open-world burn-out.

Yeah, Origins was great, and personally, Odyssey was a significant improvement. Valhalla, on the other hand, just doesn't do it for me for some reason. Kind of like the Far Cry games, I know 4 doesn't do much differently than the rest but just doesn't feel the same

Im been resisting playing AC Odyssey for ages now only because i know i will get sucked it and play for 100+ hrs for sure.
Origins was enough to show me I much prefer the old style AC games. It was nice looking but was just a bloated exercise in removing question marks from a map. I've steared clear of Odyssey and Valhalla as a result.
Halfway through chapter 9 of Dead Space and its game of the year 2023 ;) Joking, maybe... Bit more backwards and forwards than I remember, and either I'm a lot more wasteful or there's less ammo than I remember (probably the former), but in general, still a great play

Yeah I really got sucked into Origins which I didn't think would happen after GoW 2018 took about 35hrs to reach the end credits. I booted up Origins almost straight away and dived back into my save from 2019(!) thinking i'd just see how it looked/played on ps5 compared to base-ps4 but didn't expect to really get into it straight away as normally I like a bit of breather between games (especially big timesinks) but before I knew it the Ubisoft open world had its hooks in!
I have loved all the AC games I have played (2, Brotherhood, Revelations, 4, Syndicate, Origins) and the same with Far Cry (3, 3 Blood Dragon, 4, 5).
The only Ubisoft open world I've played and not gotten into was Watch Dogs 2 (San Francisco). It just felt so devoid of life, hardly any NPCs nor traffic around etc. and couldn't gel with the main character being a stealthy computer hacker who also kills people. Binned it off quick.
Up to Chapter 10 in Dead Space and had gotten the maximum security clearance, so thought I'd spend a while searching all the areas I'd already been. The first 9 chapters, I'd pretty much saved the game at every opportunity but thought - not much need for that when I'm retreading old ground....so of course after an hour of exploring I got myself killed by an extractor fan...
Finished off Dead Space there, and even though I loved it back on the 360, I think I managed to enjoy it even more. I said half jokingly game of the year the other day, but even at this early stage, anything else is going to have to be very special to beat the level of fun I've had. I'll definitely come back for a replay. Don't see me managing impossible difficulty and finishing the game only using the plasma cutter, trophy wise, but I'll give it a go at some point

I felt the same but with Watch Dogs 1. I tried it. Played 10 hrs aprox but the game never clicked. The world was like a poor man´s GTAV.

Also finished The Heist DLC on Spider-man. It wasn't bad, especially considering they'd put another MJ stealth section in it but only short thankfully.
I see Mafia Definitive Edition is a Feb PS+ game. I'm glad I bought it in 2020 and still haven't taken the disc out the box 😖. Only £15 which was a bargain at the time. Never mind and it has renewed my interest in finally playing it. I really enjoyed Mafia 2 on the PS3.

Thought I'd have the post game blues after enjoying Dead Space, and did for a wee bit. was tempted to just go straight into NG+....but then stumbled upon PowerWash Sim. Weirdly addictive

Just picked up the ps5 version of Spiderman Miles Morales for £15, perfect condition, off Facebook marketplace :)It wasn't a game I really had my eye on, but then spotted it cheap, and figured I really enjoyed (and platted) Spiderman on ps4, and will be getting Spiderman 2 at some point, so snapped it up :)
That's really good Phil. It's still around the £30 mark in CEX for some reason.
Miles Morales is shorter than the first game but I preferred it. It concentrates on the good stuff and cuts out the not so good stuff like the stealth missions.

Sounds a bit like Wolfenstein The Old Blood which I actually preferred to both the mainline entries before and after it (The New Order & The New Colossus - although they were both superb too).
Yeah I thought Miles Morales was better overall. Still doesn't do much amazing but cuts out a bit of the busy work.More Power Washing for me, one of those I'll half question why I'm playing it and next thing you know it's Tuesday.
The Old Blood is my fav Wolfenstein game too. The challenge maps were a great addition.
I've not played The New Collosus and probably won't due to that stupid Mein Leben trophy. I've still got Uber difficulty to do on The New Order but don't have much enthusiasm for making a start on that.
I did however make a start on Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep - A One Shot Adventure. The standalone DLC that was originally DLC for BL2. Having a blast with that and starting a new commando character from scratch. I love the turret and all the upgrades that can be added.

The New Colossus...play it for the fun! It's fantastic fun :) better than The New Order imo. Great hub area between missions which puts the Normandy to shame! Forget the trophies!
Going back a few messages, I clocked up 325 hours on AC Odyssey, mostly because I loved the world so much I didn't want to leave. About 100 or so on Origins and now I'm already at 125 for Valhalla and there are NO signs that I'm anywhere near the middle of the game, let alone the end!I have to do everything, collect everything and go everywhere in these games. Still, they work out at pretty good value for money for me. All those hours of entertainment for £60!
I still can't quite figure out something new to dive into. So I'm now back in Elden Ring with a bow/claw character that just beat Radahn. I might end up starting Persona 5 over the weekend. I've been curious about it for a long time.
Only a couple of trophies left in Powerwash Simulator, but one of them looks like they might be a bit of a pain. I'll give it a few tries, but if be moving on...which is probably a good thing, I'm starting to powerwash in my sleep ;)

Morning all. I didn't do too much gaming this weekend either as I went to visit family. Managed a good few hours on Tiny Tina DLC yesterday after I got back and I'm making steady progress.
I wish they'd re-release Borderlands 2 (the whole game)for the PS5 with a new trophy list. I'd love to play the whole thing again and be able to get a load more trophies in the process. This stand alone DLC is scratching the itch for the most part though. Its the 4th time I've played it having done it on the 360, PS3 and PS4 in the past.

Ping! Powerwash Simulator. Weirdly satisfied with that one.I'm thinking a Witcher 3 replay next, though I'm tempted to try and get back into Valhalla after the recent AC talk on here. I've a feeling by the time it's installed, I'd have lost interest though.
Tried to play The Callisto Protocol yesterday but the recent patch has meant I'll have to uninstall and reinstall before it'll work for me. That dulled my enthusiasm, that said I can't say I was completely convinced by the combat from what I'd played. Might just not be one I'll get on with

Yeah, didn't risk starting the PS4 version, think too much would have left me a bit washed out. Still, it was good clean fun and not a grubby plat either
Very punny lads!I found a game - Ghost Song. It's the most Metroidish Metroidvania since the original Metroid. Yes, this includes Axiom Verge. It really nails the tense exploration of an alien world while unraveling its mysteries. Beautifully art direction and atmospheric soundtrack. I just started the game yesterday but it really captured my imagination in the few hours I put in.
Gave The Callisto Protocol another go and started to get into it a bit more. Still not 100% with the combat but getting into the swing of things. Not finding it particularly scary or tense and getting lost quite a bit, but other than that, think I'll probably end up rating it fairly well.
And I'm at it again. Not satisfied with the Powerwash PS5 plat, I've made a start on the PS4 version....
Hope you can power through it quickly.

Been having a real good time with Chernobylite.
Its a very unusual RPG with a lot of Stalker into it.
Its not very "dense" and it allows a lot of exploration of the map at our own pace (apart from a particular stress-inducing gameplay mechanic) which makes it a somewhat relaxing game at points.
Im 17 hrs into so i assume im near the end as the game is not suposed to be very long.
I highly recomend it for those who played and enjoyed the old Stalker games.
Still powerwashing here but unfortunately I'm clean out of puns.

I've started a true vault hunter run on Tiny Tina in order to get to level 35 (max level on this). However, it might be quicker to just keep hammering the circle of slaughter thing. That might help with the kill challenges I have remaining too.

The 2nd playthrough was a bit more slick than the first. in terms of time, showed it a clean pair of heals and definitely left it in the dirt.....Went back to Persona 3 after that but it's really dragging on. Nearing the 65 hour mark and still not done. The plat would require a 2nd playthings so don't think I'll be doing that straight away.

Finally finished Persona 4 after 70+ hours, then for a change of pace, stuck on Persona 4....
Or maybe Persona 3 finished even, think it's going to be one of those days
I finished up Ghost Song over the weekend. What a great Metroid-like. The atmosphere of the world you are exploring really is tense and incredible. The art style is so vivid. Everything pops. You never know what kind of side-character may appear as discover new areas. So many mysteries...There is a new game plus that contains more story beats but I didn't start it yet. Very happy with this one. 8/10FYI - if you find yourself stuck and unable to progress without new items, just keep going ALL THE WAY LEFT.
After that I picked up Mass Effect 2 and resumed my Insanity playthrough of the new trilogy collection. Dying a lot as a remember how to play the game.
Made a start on Persona 4 and, although it's early days, feels like it's somewhere between Persona 3 and Persona 5 ;)

I see Cities: Skylines & Journey to the Savage Planet have got free PS5 upgrades. Might stick one of them on as a break from Persona and while I wait for PSVR2 next week. Then again, might just mess about in Elden Ring instead

Started the last piece of Spider-man DLC and been levelling up and completing challenges on Tiny Tina.
I saw yesterday that Horizon Forbidden West is coming to PS+ Extra. That's ideal for me as I was quite underwhelmed by the first game but happy to play FW without having to buy the game.
Outriders which has been on my radar for a while is going to be available soon as well.
I've not had Extra that long but have got my money back several times over already.
