Sonja (sonjac) | 1364 comments Hi MountainKat!
You picked for me in January and, while I didn't really get to do justice to your picks this month, I do get to return the favor sooner than later! YAY me!
So I really liked that your list was short - made picking easy for me! And I tried to utilize that you had them ranked - since I do that as well! Hopefully I'm on the right track. Here are your picks for February!
1.
TBR:
Fatal Scandal (definite conflict)
NEW: The Bridge Kingdom (war/conflict) Admittedly I left this one on my TBR much longer than I should have. This series was free on Kindle Unlimited, but is now only available on Audible – I recommend the audible anyway if you like listening to books sometimes. I really enjoyed that version so much that I had to read the second book, The Traitor Queen right away and am impatiently waiting for the third and final installment!
Fatal Scandal (Fatal, #8) by Marie Force The Bridge Kingdom (The Bridge Kingdom, #1) by Danielle L. Jensen

2.
TBR:
The Unseen (fantasy)
NEW: Enemies (Sports romance) I was surprised how much I liked this book!
The Unseen (Elder Races #9.9) by Thea Harrison Enemies by Tijan

3.
TBR:
Hiding the Moon (MC’s name starts with L)
NEW: Well Met (MC moved back home to help family) I loved this book and this series!! I’ve read both of the first two and am waiting for the third. Really loved this couple and enjoyed their fun and sweet story! Plus, you know, all the geeky references and Ren-Faire background was fun and hit all my dorky points!
Hiding the Moon (Fish Out of Water, #4; Racing for the Sun, #2) by Amy Lane Well Met (Well Met, #1) by Jen DeLuca

4.
TBR:
Loyalty in Death (evil stalker!)
NEW: The Tourist Attraction (winter) I’m reading the second book currently in this series. All set in Alaska – so winter year round! I liked the story even if there’s a definite element of delayed gratification as well. Sorry, making you work for it this month! LOL
Loyalty in Death (In Death, #9) by J.D. Robb The Tourist Attraction (Moose Springs, Alaska #1) by Sarah Morgenthaler

5.
TBR:
Witness in Death (an arrest is likely)
NEW: Idol (‘animal’ in the story) Okay, this is a bit of a stretch, but in the very first paragraph of the story, the MC, Killian, describes the ‘animal’ – i.e. the ravenous crowd at a rock concert from his perspective as the lead guitarist on stage. I thought it was a fun interpretation of this rule. Also, in a way, the heroine, Libby ‘kidnaps’ Killian, as his bandmates and buddies complain later in the book. I’m clearly obsessed with this series! It just gets better and better as you move through each member of Kill John. These characters go through some serious demons and I love the way this author writes!
Witness in Death (In Death, #10) by J.D. Robb Idol (VIP, #1) by Kristen Callihan

6.
TBR:
Wrong Wrong (grand realization)
NEW: Paris Is Always a Good Idea (grand realization) What can I say about this book? Soon as I saw the grand realization rule, I thought of this one and hoped you hadn’t read it yet. Voila! I really loved Chelsea's story and the squishy, satisfying HEA ending!
Wrong (Cafe, #1) by Jana Aston Paris Is Always a Good Idea by Jenn McKinlay

7.
TBR:
GhosTV (Paranormal)
NEW: This Time Next Year (Celebration – NYE) I just finished this book for January and really enjoyed it! Was a great start to the new year, even if it was a bit of a delayed gratification – and no serious nookie scenes! Still, very enjoyable read!
GhosTV (PsyCop, #6) by Jordan Castillo Price This Time Next Year by Sophie Cousens

8.
TBR:
The Forever Girl (peaceful cover!)
TBR: Siren Unleashed (deceptively peaceful cover!) I’m taking pity on your reading this month, especially since I subjected you to a couple of really delayed gratification books! It sounds like this one will make up for it! LOL This one is a TBR, not a new one and while I’d like to suggest a dozen more books, I thought you could use one more from your list added. This one definitely seems like an ‘adventure’ too! ;)
The Forever Girl (Wildstone, #6) by Jill Shalvis Siren Unleashed (Texas Sirens, #7) by Sophie Oak
Happy reading!

TBR - A Kiss at Midnight: This was an awesome book! I am yet to read an Eloisa James that I didn't enjoy but this book was a perfect blend of sweet, angst and funny.
New - Scoring Wilder: Coach Wilder 💕 Imagine a young Kulti, younger Sal and a not-so-slow burn
A Kiss at Midnight (Fairy Tales, #1) by Eloisa James Scoring Wilder by R.S. Grey

3. Amidst the snow and trees, Lucy meets Mr. Tumnus, a faun! He gives her cookies and tea, and lulls her to sleep with his magical flute. He plans to turn her over to the White Witch (gasp!) but his conscience gets the better of him. He quickly helps Lucy find her way back home.:
TBR - Schooling the Duke: Pleasant enough read. Books with kids will always be one of my favorites!
New - Stepbrother Dearest: If you are not familiar with Ward's work, she usually blurs the lines between acceptable and unacceptable behavior. This book isn't as crazy as some of her other books, but the MCs were step-siblings at some point. The romance is great though!
Schooling the Duke (The Heart of a Scandal, #1) by Christi Caldwell Stepbrother Dearest by Penelope Ward

4. Lucy soon makes a habit of visiting Mr. Tumnus. One such time Edmund, her brother, follows her into Narnia where he runs into sleigh drawn by reindeer, driven by a dwarf and the Queen of Narnia a.k.a the White Witch as the passenger. She charms Edmund into returning to Narnia with his all his siblings.:
TBR - Up for Heir: This book is a perfect example of a modern day fairy tale. Cute, funny and angst-free!
New - Life and Other Near-Death Experiences: This book is a little heavy despite the name and silly cover. Be ready to cry!
Up for Heir (Rosavia Royals, #1) by Stella Starling Life and Other Near-Death Experiences by Camille Pagán

5. One morning not long thereafter, the kids are forced to hide in the wardrobe to escape the stern housekeeper Mrs Macready. Lucy leads them back to Narnia and to Mr. Tumnus' house. However, they find the house ransacked and the faun arrested for treason! Lucy being the sweet kid she is, insists on rescuing Mr. Tumnus.:
TBR - Bringing Down the Duke: Angsty (not too much), sweet, romantic with a perfect finish!
New - The Lightning-Struck Heart: I couldn't help but notice this is still not on your TBR :-O Even if you don't want to listen to the audio book, you'll still love the print! This book is unforgettable!
Bringing Down the Duke (A League of Extraordinary Women, #1) by Evie Dunmore The Lightning-Struck Heart (Tales From Verania, #1) by T.J. Klune

6. All will be set to rights in Narnia when the two daughters of Eve and the two sons of Adam sit on the throne in castle Cair Paravel. The beavers whisk the kids away to the Stone Table to meet Aslan the Lion. En route, Edmund slips away to find the White Witch. He soon discovers that the witch only wanted to kill them all and ends up in prison in the witch's castle.:
TBR - Beyond the Highland Mist: I read this book years ago but I remember it being quite good. I read the entire series back-to-back!
New - Widdershins: Very cute historical MM. Historical MMs usually don't work for me, but this book was very good!
Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, #1) by Karen Marie Moning Widdershins (Whyborne & Griffin, #1) by Jordan L. Hawk

7. Soon, the witch faces the lion and the rest of Narnia in battle, where Aslan eventually kills the Queen. All of Narnia cheers and celebrates the victory of Aslan's Army.:
New - The Wolf at the Door: I think this was a debut book but it was very good! I must have re-read this series at least 4 times! I totally aspire to have a relationship like Cooper and Park!
New - Not Dead Yet: This book was light and funny. Mystery was entertaining enough. I'm told the series gets much better!
The Wolf at the Door (Big Bad Wolf, #1) by Charlie Adhara Not Dead Yet (Not Dead Yet #1) by Jenn Burke

8. Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy take their rightful place as the Kings and Queens of Narnia, where they reign peacefully for many years, forgetting all about England and the war. Many years later, as they hunt for the fabled White Stag, a creature that would grant any wish, they stubble upon the wardrobe again. As they walk through its doors, they realize no time has passed in their own world and the nasty housekeeper is still looking for them! :
TBR - Enemies of the State: Because!
New - P.S. I Spook You: Another awesome PNR series! Second chance romance too.
Enemies of the State (The Executive Office #1) by Tal Bauer P.S. I Spook You (The Spectral Files, #1) by S.E. Harmon

Happy reading!
