Book: When You Are Mine

After reading the precis I already knew this was not for me. The "falling in love for my best friend fiancee" trope will hardly work for me and I'll probably not cheer for the main couple. This is what happened here... nothing between the two protagonists made me like them, and their do-gooders ways only seemed manipulative for me (see... they are good people. You can hate them too much... well, I can certainly try).
So... why do read this book anyway, Nayara? Because I made a lot of bad decisions, that's why. And apparently I like my own suffering (there's a word for that).

No surprises here but I didn't expect any. It's exactly what you think it is, a fun shape shifter romance.

Here is Task 22:79. Read 6 books that have the same romance trope, teams decide which trope.
As a team, select a romance trope and read 6 books featuring that trope. Remember to let me know how you know the book qualifies - from the precis, title, tags, lists, whatever, but I need to know where to look to confirm your book. Include the selected trope in your completion posts along with any other info or links as necessary.
I'm good with whenever for this one... I probably can find a book that's going to insterest me in any trope.Just no love triangles 😂
Friends to lovers? Enemies to lovers? Crush on best friend's brother/sister or brother/sister's best friend? Sports romance?I hate love triangles too!
I have 2 historicals that I was going to read anyway tagged enemies to lovers. I think it's one of the easiest tropes out there.
I'm good with either of the one Michaele named. The book I'm currently reading is a Sports Romance, but I have books on my line up for all of the above.
My vote would be enemies to lovers because I just found a Julia Quinn book on that shelf here and my library has it.But I could also do another hockey romance for sports.
and I just found a friends to lovers book.

Like some others LK book's this one DID NOT aged well. The slut-shaming runs strong, you can see where the story is going early on, and Grant is in my very selected list of worts heros written in the history of mankind.

Another enjoyable entree in the Bridgerton family saga. I've kind of been reading these out of order. That's one thing I like about this series.
We're going out to dinner tonight for my daughter's birthday. She turned 23 yesterday. So I'm not likely to get another book in but it looks like that won't be a problem.

This is probably my least favorite Sarah MacLean so far. Her writing and pace are good as usual, but Lilian and Alex are the most boring couple. The side characters (are the best part and I bet this book would be more fun if it told the story of another Dangerous Daughter.

Here is your LAST TASK!Read a book written by an authors whose initials are both in the first half of the alphabet (A-M) or both in the second half of the alphabet (N-Z). No pass for this task.
Books selected for this task have to be written by authors whose initials are wholly contained in either first half or the second half of the alphabet. You do not have to decide on first half or second half as a team. Each book just needs to fall into one or the other to work. If the author uses a middle name or initial, it must also fall into the same half of the alphabet as initials of the first and last names. Examples of qualifying authors would be Lorelei James, Amy Lane and Nora Roberts. Authors that would not qualify would include J.D. Robb, Sawyer Bennett and Sloane Kennedy. Also Jennifer L. Armentrout would work, but Susan Elizabeth Phillips would not. Each teammate must complete a book that qualifies for the team to complete the task. Additional books will add to the team's page count total in case a tiebreaker is needed. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.
Oops, I just noticed you shouldn't have gotten this until morning! Go ahead and plan if you want, but please don't start reading until tomorrow. 😊
Nayara - thank you so much for posting the tracking posts - they have helped me so much! I've been re-reading a lot of books this year and it's hard to keep track of which books I've read for which challenge so I don't repeat something . Seriously, thank you!

I tried to pick a long book to help with page count, but it took forever to finish. Hopefully I can finish another before this ends!
Nayara wrote: "Wait, why the page count is important in this task? Am I missing something?"It'll be used as a tie-breaker. Even if we don't tie for first, it'll be used as a tie breaker for other places in the ranking too.
If I am not mistaken :)

No problem. I just wish I saw it before I wasted my day listening to this book since it wasn't that great, but it's all good.
