MountainKat | 31599 comments Hi team, just a comment about the last task. I had asked for a link to the teammate's review or read shelf in your completion posts so that it would be easier for me to confirm your books and none of you did. I was able to confirm without it, but it did take extra time. Please try to include links or whatever is needed going forward. Thanks! 😊

MountainKat | 31599 comments And I just realized that you can't get your task this evening, so I will be back tomorrow morning my time with your task. 😊

I totally missed the comment about the link. I apologize for that. Thanks!

Our bad, Kat, sorry...

MountainKat | 31599 comments Here is Task 19:

62. Read a minimum of 1000 pages in books written by an author whose first or last name begins with the first letter of a teammate's screen name.

Select a book written by an author whose first or last name begins with the first letter of a teammate's screen name. You can not use your own screen name for this task, you need to use a teammate's name. So Nayara couldn't read Nora Roberts for example. The M's are lucky though, they can choose from all three options. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count. 😊

message 407: by Nayara (new)

Nayara (nayalink) | 630 comments I'll read Who We Truly Are by Victoria Sue. It has only 226 pages but if we need I have an "M" author I can read too.

message 409: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 1103 comments I might read this:

Gods of Gold (DI Tom Harper, #1) by Chris Nickson

it's only 336 pages so I might look for something else unless Shan and Michaele's books get us to 1000 pages.

message 410: by Michaele (new)

Michaele | 6545 comments I'm going to start with Mud & Lace, but it's fairly short, so I can read another after.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 1103 comments Those 3 put as at 802 pages already. So we're probably good.

eta: changing to this because the other one isn't in audio and I take longer with ebooks.

Archangel's War (Guild Hunter, #12) by Nalini Singh

so now we have 944 pages.

Review: Marissa and Trace's story ended up with the curse that sometimes accompanies 1st books in a series. There was a lot of time preparing the readers for the books to come, and not enough time spent making the reader have any appreciation for Marissa and Trace together.

I didn't feel the connection, but I was told (several times I might add) that there was connection that they both were denying and have been for years.

I left this book unfulfilled for the most part, because there was a lot of repetition and I couldn't figure out 1) why Marrissa wouldn't confide in her family who are in a security business so it is clearly there job to protect people, and 2) how is this business thriving with the lack of communication between the people who work at this company (who also happen to be family).

Here is Task 20:

104. Read 8 holiday books.

Holiday for this task is the American type of holiday as opposed to the British type. Qualification for this task can come from the title, series, precis, tags or lists. It can be the generic 'holiday' or more specific like Christmas or Halloween. Remember to let me know how you know the book qualifies, so I know where to look to confirm your books. Please include any necessary info or links in your completion posts.

I read this years ago, so I don't really remember it - it is set in Colonial Williamsburg, right? Or am I thinking of the wrong book? Why didn't you like it?

Review: I really like the angle of these 3 friends becoming lovers. It made the possibility of a ménage relationship seem more real.

When Ry, Bram, and Lacey came together it was supper hot, and the author did a good job showcasing Lacey being reluctant due to her being hurt in the past.

It was a short, hot read.

Definitely interested in reading Jana's story, because I absolutely think that it is going to be a crazy ride.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 1103 comments I found a 200 page Christmas book that I checked out in both audio and ebook. I can try and get it done today. I am at work so I it probably won't be until this afternoon when I'm most likely alone at the office. I'll start it at lunch.

If someone else finishes something go ahead and post and submit. I just figured I'd get one going as a back in case no else found one.

I like that these can be read in any order. They have overlapping characters but usually just one or two peripheral characters from the Monk series. No continuing story to try and remember if I haven't read on in a while. Just a short, entertaining mystery set a Christmas time.

MountainKat | 31599 comments So I have Shan using the pass for Task 20, is that correct - I didn't see her comment about that?

Also, Mary make sure you are using the first edition Kindle page count. Two of your books didn't. No worries this time, but for the last task it could matter. 😉

MountainKat | 31599 comments Here is Task 21:

57. Read over 1000 pages in books that are MPG Romance.

Books for this task MUST be MPG Romance. If you've participated in the Bachelor Challenge, you know what that means. 😉 Basically, Romance has to be listed as a Main Page Genre. Romance can be combined (Historical Romance for example) or alone. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count!
