What have you added to your collection recently?

I dont own the omni's but have the hole thing in trades, i just finishen the war of the green lantern story and everything has just been amazing.. very grand scale epic storytelling!
Going to read the new 52 stuff next couple of days. I just hope it is just as good as the rest of the GL run.

I have almost no other experience reading Green Lantern. Now I kind of want to read Johns current/recently ended Justice League run but that would require me to pick up the standard size HCs. I feel like eventually we should see an omnibus run capturing his run since we've seen so much of his other work get the omnibus treatment. There are a couple large crossover type events, Forever Evil and Darkseid War. In the Green Lantern run we saw those get Absolute volumes. Nothing solicited yet though. If we see a Johns Justice League omnibus I'm guessing next year would be the earliest we might see it.

I was always a fan of the concept of GL but never found any of the stories to be worthwhile until Johns' run. From someone who was not a big fan or had a lot of history with the character, I highly recommend the run.

Nice. :) Sounds like a good brother.

I've picked up a ton of comic and art-related HC's in the past 2 or 3 months, and the biggest comic purchases have been original art facsimiles; Artist's Editions from IDW, Gallery Editions from Graphitti Designs, and Dark Horse Curator's Collection with Kitchen Sink and their own Gallery Edition line.
And I finally upgraded from TPB's to deluxe editions on some of my favorites:
-Absolute Watchmen
-Absolute V for Vendetta
-Hellboy: Library Edition - Vol. 1-6
-The Art of Hellboy - Signed OOP HC
I also found a copy of the Limited Edition 'Humbug' 2-Volume HC slipcase set from IST, signed by Jack Davis, Al Jaffee and Arnold Roth; sometimes they leave books up that are sold out -- like with the Top Ten Absolute -- so I was happy it showed up.

-Mike Mignola's Hellboy in Hell - Artist's Edition (IDW) 12" x 17"
-Mike Mignola's Amazing Screw-On Head - Artist's Edition (IDW) 12" x 17"
-Frank Miller's Sin City: The Hard Goodbye - Curator's Collection (Dark Horse) 15" x 22"
-Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Gallery Edition (Graphitti Designs) 13" x 20"

-Kevin O'Neill's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Volume 1 - Gallery Edition (Graphitti Designs) 12" x 17"

P.S.: I know my LCS in Toronto has a couple brand-new, still-sealed copies of Absolute Top 10 (& 1st/2nd prntg Parker: Martini Ed.); the price is a bit high, but it's better than anything I found online. He'll be heading to the US to mail off his American customer orders at the end of the month, and the price is $150.00, US shipping included. It probably won't be getting any cheaper, and it's one of the top 3 Absolute editions, IMO.
The Beguiling is one of the best comic shops on the planet -- it won the first Eisner Award for Retail Excellence -- but they don't have an online store, using order-by-email instead. If the price doesn't scare you off, contact Peter Birkemoe (interesting side-note: he and the store itself have been recurring characters in the comic memoirs of Chester Brown, Seth, Joe Matt, and others): mail@beguiling.ca
Nice update Eisnein. :) I really like that Steranko art book. All those art books are really impressive (as is the fact you have shelves with room for them). But so far I'm staying away from anything that breaks the $100 for one book price tag.
As far as Wood's work goes, I picked up Cannon when it came out. It's a bit old school on the writing but it's great old school pulp stuff.

Not sure if I should wish you luck in selling those or not. :) I actually just sent the second half of Fraction's Iron Man run in to be custom bound. With as much time as has gone by it certainly appears we won't be getting any more of the run in OHC or omnibus.

Nice!
@ Rel: yeah i know! Re iron man i was really pleased by Bendis' vol 1 of the new iron man, i wasn't blown away by Fraction's. I've seen reviews for vol 2 on the Benids run get really bad reviews.

You left off the book in looking forward to the most: Goon Library 4!
It looks like Goon Library Edition vol 4 has been bumped a week so we should be seeing it next week.
Cheese, I do want to read what Bendis is doing on one of the Iron Man titles. He is doing two Iron Man titles right now Invincible and International. Bendis has a 15 year old girl that is supposed to be the smartest person in the universe or something in one of them as the new Iron Man with a very different (but interesting character) taking Tony's place in the other one. I'm interested in what is happening in the latter, and I think Maleev is doing the art. They worked together really well on Daredevil.
At this point with so many legacy characters replaced I'm starting to wonder when Heroes Reborn II is going to come out and bring them back?

The Shang Chi variant is supposed to be on IST 1 Nov per IST. It's probably worth checking every week though just in case it is early.
The three Sale/Loeb Batman Absolute volumes look good next to each other. :)
I still have the Absolute Green Lantern/Arrow on my wish list.

I actually had the new avengers omnibus in my shopping basket for awhile and I had a hard time deciding if I actually wanted it - I've heard different things about it.
But price dropped a bit and I decided to order it. And hopefully I won't regret it.. but it looks good on the shelf so far..

I think Locke and Key Master Edition 3 is supposed to drop this week on IST. I think I'm in the "I'll believe it when I see it mode" now. :)

I was very pleased with Deadly Class (both in story and the physical book). I wish V2 would come out sooner rather than later.

Yeah believe it or not it actually ends up the same price if I was to buy it from bookdepository once I buy something as well. Except if I'd ordered it from book depository I'd have it now

Agreed. Much like Brubaker leaving Cap, it's tough to fill the shows of a really good writer leaving a character after that writer has accomplished a high level of work. I've read Johns Flash and Hawkman and neither IMHO are as good as his run on Flash. I have yet to read his JLA run.
I am waiting, I don't think they will be available this week.
