Sounds like it. I would think at least they would contact the customer and ask if they would want expedited shipping even if it was an additional fee.

In my case, it's been ~9 months since June 2021 preorders and I'm still waiting for half of it to be processed due to all the sliding release dates/delays/industry issues: https://imgur.com/a/mcgZcQR

I'm happy I got it all for 50% off, but tying up all that money for nearly a year with nothing to show for it doesn't feel great. Who knows what's going to happen to all these piles of books sitting around the warehouse for that long too.

I haven't ordered from DCBS since. I just wait for post-release sales now (e.g. Target) since books aren't selling out nearly as fast. I'm also just being more selective and spending much less than I used to.

Just received this from DCBS. It’s almost like they are reading this group. :)

Hi,

First and foremost we truly appreciate and want to thank you for your patience as we work to get the delays cleared up.

There have been several factors that put us behind and caused delays. We did close for a few days due to extreme weather that put us behind during our busiest time of month. We had supply chain delays as well and did not receive some of our shipments until much later.

All staff are working extra hours and taking on extra shifts to try and get everything caught up. We have also hired additional staff to help get your shipments out to you in as timely as a fashion as possible.

DCBS Team

message 7806: by noelbeast (new)

noelbeast | 489 comments Hmm. Has IST ever broken up an order for anyone without you asking for it? A couple of weeks ago I placed an order for 2 newly released books, and one was holding the shipment up.

Today I got a tracking notification, but order details on the website says only 1 book was shipped and their other is still waiting to process. I know I’ve contacted them before about no movement weeks after order and they’ve offered to break it into multiple shipments, but this is a first for me.

message 7807: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 146 comments Yup, my last order this happened. It was a two book order and for some reason the second book shipped separately just a few days after the first book shipped out.

message 7808: by noelbeast (new)

noelbeast | 489 comments Thanks Ryan. First for everything.

message 7809: by J (new)

J | 531 comments Noel, it has happened to me a few times actually. I usually have at least one item from the back catalog in my order and there have been times when it will take forever to arrive from the distributor so they basically put it on backorder and send the rest of the shipment. A little different than ordering two new books but maybe one sold out at IST and they're waiting to receive extra copies? I will say that they never sent an email to me when this happened, but it was marked on the package invoice.

message 7810: by Relstuart, Mod+ (new)

Relstuart | 2964 comments Mod
I've had the same thing happen. They probably take a bit of a loss on these since they end up shipping you two packages but don't charge anything extra to make up any difference for it.

I haven't ordered from IST in a few weeks but ordered the DLX Blade of the Immortal volume 4 and 5, Snyder's Justice League DLX vol 2, and decided to try out the Hellbound TPB vol 1 (of two) from Dark Horse.

DCBS new content for the month is live.

Image has new printings a few out of print hardcovers; Descender HC vol 1; Incogneto Classified; and Alex and Ada Complete Collection.

DC has a handful of omnibus volumes and an Absolute Swamp Thing by Len Wein all at 50%. Taylor's Batman run has a DLX vol 6 which I think will collect the end of his run.

There is a reprint of the slipcased Life and Time of Scrooge McDuck by Don Rosa: https://www.dcbservice.com/product/ma...

There is a nice art book for Timothy Trueman: https://www.dcbservice.com/product/ma...

Because I'm running out of shelf space, I was playing around with display options. Pushing the main series to the back and just have one or two additional books lying in front. What does everyone else do with overflow?

message 7813: by Omni (new)

Omni Theus | 99 comments I stack my books lying down as I fit more in. Once that's used up front and back.

Maybe you could look at the covers and feature the most timely one that month in each cubby? Just a thought. That way the books get rotated so you can enjoy them all equally.

Hahaha—I never thought this topic would give me as much stress as it does…

I’m planning soon on renting a storage locker to put some seldom used furniture away so I can add another bookshelf. Maybe I can get creative, but I think this might be the last one I can squeeze into my house without taking over more than 2 rooms. It’s a bit ridiculous, but I should be able to fit about 140 more omnis, so that’s like, at least 2 more years of purchases…? Ha!

message 7816: by Blindzider, Moderator (new)

Blindzider | 3293 comments Mod
@Omni, I just tried that for a few months. It's not bad, although harder to fit that one extra book in vertically. Maybe I'll do some one way and some the other.

@Darth Bane, I do like that idea. When rearranging I had kind of forgotten I had certain things. Just moving things around was a nice change of pace.

@noelbeast, ah the never-ending problem of space. 140 more omnis is a LOT. Have you shown pics of the second room? Your link to your room doesn't seem to be working anymore.

Nice! I still have that one on my backlog list as well since I did pick up the first volume. I read the run and felt the quality dropped off towards the end as Snyder moved away from telling a Batman story grounded in his usual mythos. =)

I think his Fantastic Four run might be my favorite so far. Secret Warriors might be second. His Avengers run was really fun but it's also him tearing down the universe and building it back so it's hard to judge a story told on that scale against others. Looking forward to getting more into his X-men run. =)

message 7838: by Blindzider, Moderator (new)

Blindzider | 3293 comments Mod
I agree with Rel: his FF run is very, very good. In general, I think he's an excellent "idea guy": big sweeping changes and out of the box thinking. That's best exemplified by HOX/POX and his run on X-Men. Avengers had those grandiose ideas but it meandered a little too much for me before the finale His New Avengers run was much more interesting. FF is sort of the best of both worlds: true sci-fi ideas but still had an entertaining story along the way.

Nickviola | 1019 comments This was my first big week in a really long time. Doctor Strange Omni (Aaron's run was one of my favorite recent marvel runs), War of Realms (anticipate once Aaron's Thors come out in omnis this won't be included and will want it to finish the story), FF Hickman 2 (had sold my old one when I gave up on getting FF1, thank goodness for reprints now I have the set), and Captain Britain which I had sold so I could buy other things and now finally get back.

Does anyone know if the Deadly Class reprints have the new Remember brand imprint on the spine? If so, I am tempted to switch out my old vol. 1 so the spines match.
