What have you added to your collection recently?

After 6 issues, Tom King Batman is a good read so far, i really liked the dialog. Especially Alfred's lines. They are so sarcastic and funny. (:
DCBS has my copy of Seven to Eternity and the new Alex Ross Fantastic Four graphic novel and I'm waiting for them to ship them to me any day now. =)
I see IST has Priest's Deathstroke omnibus back in stock and it's 60% off which is the best price I've seen it.

So I'm expecting 7 omni gn on a shipping packlist from a vendor; and another 3 listed as unshipped.
I think some of these omni's have been released. So I'm a bit at a loss about how and when to expect my preorders.... (note: direct pre-orders process are still pretty new to me)

I placed a few pre-orders with CGN and I had to order each book seperately and pay the shipping fee per item. Other than catching some books I missed on DCBS, I didn't find that an attractive offer for monthly pre-orders. Not familiar with other vendors.

I'm not good at reading T&C stuff (ADHD); but it seems to say that some vendors like DCBS, group shipping costs extra PER ITEM, like if you want insurance, which would be $5.50, with seven books so far in a package, that's about $38 or more. (I mean, with that many omni's in one package, who wouldn't want insurance.. right?)

You can ask for a shipping update but it's clear that if you have monthly shipping your order ships at the end of the month.

Thanks for replying again.
I don't have monthly shipping; it seems I have standard shipping, whatever that means...

Can you give me a link to the "spider man newspaper strip oversized hardcovers"?
I just ordered Uncanny X-Men Omnibus 5 (which means I'll have to buy and print a new custom cover to match spines) and Daredevil Omnibus V2 (which I've never read and will probably also need a custom cover). I held off on Thor V4.

I also order a lot of current titles in either HC or TPB format. I'm also a big fan of DC's kids books (don't laugh) and they had a few of those on offering this month.
I've also been ordering the softcover PS Artbook editions of Blackhawk's 1940s comic. Can't say the reproduction is all that great, but I'm a big Blackhawk fan so I've enjoyed these. This month PS also offered soft covers of Military Comics (first appearance of Blackhawk) and the first Plastic Man comics. I know Golden Age material isn't for everyone, but I'm glad these editions are available.
I also ordered the DM version of the Uncanny X-men Omnibus vol 5. Maybe the DM version will match the old look?
As I'm sure most folks are tracking, the DCBS orders for the next month are up.
A few random books I like to think are worth highlighting:
The Exile by Erik Kriek - I Googled the art and like it so I'm going to give it a shot: https://www.dcbservice.com/product/no...
Adam Strange Between Two World DLX (this was solicited over a year ago and canceled, glad to see them finally re-solicted): https://www.dcbservice.com/product/no...
Snow Angels Library Edition by Jeff Lemire and art by Jock:
https://www.dcbservice.com/product/no...
Reprint of The Complete American Gods slipcase:

I'm interested in reading that Adam Strange but not enough to drop the money for it.
I hate when I can't see the cover images (even if I know what they are), but I also bought the UXM DM cover.

So this version is only two volumes, covering the Romita portion of the run (what I mostly cared about). They were available in OHC and SC. The OHC is the same size as omnis, so they look great on the shelf.
Vol 1:

Lee definitely wrote the issues in these volumes. Later on he is credited but its largely accepted that he had some help. Still, it is Stan's vision long after his ASM run concluded, which is cool. It ran for a while, and there is another, more pricey collection that collects more (not all sadly) of the run. Most volumes are OOP and I decided against dropping the cash on them. There are five volumes. Here is the link for Vol 1:

I'm a huge Spider-Man guy, so I felt the need to have these in some capacity in the collection. They are really cool to have, especially since I never had the chance to read them as they came out. Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks, I hadn't seen those. I have the first volume (used and a little beat up) of the second collection (the widescreen/landscape series) but like you said, they are OOP and hard to find so I didn't pursue them.
I actually was around for at least some of the strips and did read them in the newspaper but always wanted to read them straight through in their entirety. I also always felt they needed to be in my collection somehow since I'm a Spidey fan.
Thanks!

I recieved the Garth Ennis and Steve Epting WWII Soviet Sniper story Sara in Deluxe hardcover this last week. The hard cover is really nice. They did a big Soviet start cutout in the front cover and used red endpapers, and good paper. It's a nicer quality than the average oversized hardcover.
The story was good but grim. I liked Epting's art. It WWII comics are of interest this one is worth picking up.

I was reading Tom King's Batman run and the guy spent a great deal of his run expalaning how stupid the Batman was... It was super annoying, rather than fixing whatever was wrong with Batman like they did in the Films... Tom King just kept on explaining in great extent how stupid this and that in Batman Comics... Well, you are the kind of writer worthy of writing that stupid thing, dude... Better think about this...
Whatever, even new writer who writes the book thinks that i am writing a mega stupid book... Well then i am not reading it anymore, happy ? I am done... Long live the Manga !

I'm reading less of the new stuff too. I'll continue the Captain America Masterworks and looking to start getting the Masterworks for Avengers again now that they are changing the spines for the omnibus volumes. Plus, on reflection I like reading those size books better than massive omnibus volumes.
We are still getting some great modern stuff on occasion. Some of the Star Wars comics were pretty good. Tom King's Vision is still the best thing I've read by him.
Are Bendis and Brubaker on Daredevil still modern runs? :) I think they still technically count but those aren't reflective of current comics any more.
I do have a couple omnibus volumes on pre-order - Savage Avengers (haven't read at all), Wolverine vol 3, Star Wars Bounty Hunters, and at least one other Star Wars volume. I wanted to grab the latest Loki omnibus as it has Loki, Agent of Asgard and that run got a fair amount of positive buzz. I'll have to pick it up on release.

Same, I'm reading less and less new stuff overall. My next DCBS shipment is pretty large, but only a few Omnibus next year (and mostly older stuff).
If I recall, the comics industry has cycles, from a creativity perspective and it sure feels like we are in a downturn if true.

I think I am most excited for this book from the list, it has been delayed and cancelled so many times now. And it will be great to finally be able to finish the TMNT Ultimate Collection HC line.
Does anyone know how to access your digital Marvel Comics through a web page?
I have a lot of digital comics from back when Marvel was putting them inside single issues. I can access them using the Marvel Comics app on my phone and tablet and I used to be able to read them on a web page but I can't find any way to see them on the marvel.com site. Everything there is Marvel Unlimited and that's not what these are.
On top of that, since Amazon bought Comixology, I'm not sure how to view them there either. My Comixology login is different than my Amazon one and if I try to go to the Comixology website it just wants me to login to Amazon.

Why does that not surprise me? Just more profile building. That's why I was hoping there was still a separate marvel website that I could go to.
Thanks!

Even though I'm basically done buying, I did order the DCBS Exclusive version of Deadly Class V4 HC to finish out the series. Did they completely stray from the previous design of the other Exclusive covers or am I just misremembering what they looked like?
Looking forward to reading this series straight through.

I want to order that version as well but I'm worried the spine won't match the other volumes. I read the first two volumes but I'm holding off on the third to read it with volume four when it comes out.

Well I just made the mistake of thinking I could edit my order (still within the ordering time frame for the month) but I didn't realize you could only add stuff and not remove stuff. *face palm* Cue email to customer service but I suspect I'll end up with one copy of both versions.
