I'm really torn here. I've read 90 books off of the group bookshelf. If I read nine I'll still be in the licorice section of the clubhouse. I do have a weakness for licorice. But... Chocolate. Hmm...I'll try to read 10 anyway in 2020 and hope that no one sees me sneaking back.
I am going to try this but will aim low since I am foolishly signed up to do the Popsugar challenge for the first time in some years. I do plan to include some scifi in those reads. I have said 5 so far, but if I am doing well, can I up the goal?

Oh, I see you just signed up for the 2019 challenge. The 2020 challenge opens on January 1st, 2020, which is when you can sign up for that!
I am currently on 273 and I aim to read another two this year, so I will go for 25 to make it a nice round 300.
My goal for 2020 is going to be 15 books, either this year's books or books from previous years, with a stretch goal of 18, which would get me to 40% of the bookshelf read.
I have to go for either 25 (doable) or 75 books (quite ambitious), cause I need nice round numbers (150 or 200 from the shelf)
Not sure on how many I'm going to read, because I failed the current one and forget about it. Maybe I'll start with 15.

very useful, thanks!
Jen wrote: "I'm going to aim for 10 and see how that goes!"I'll also aim for 10. I read 8 books from the shelf this year, and want to step it up a bit!
I'm going to aim for 12 (I have more unread then 12) so that gives me 1 a month, and if I read more I'll up my number.

Thank you!!
I have 81 already on my TBR and physically own 12 so I'll go for the 12. I'm trying to read my owned books so this will help. Should probably sign up for the TBR challenge too...
This year, I signed up in September and committed to reading 8 books from the group shelf, which I've already exceeded.I'll commit to 15 next year: 12 group reads and 3 extra (I don't know how much time I'll have for reading next year and like setting myself easily-achievable goals). Maybe I'll increase the number once I've completed the challenge.
I'm spending way too much time fussing with this, but I just had to know for sure! So, it seems as though I've read 83 from our shelves and own at least another 24 unread. I'm going to aim for 12 from my list of already owned books and I probably won't be able to resist a few of the new ones. We'll see!
I'm going to start with a low goal that I can raise if things are going well quickly. Also, I need to recount how many I've read from our shelves; I am going to figure out an easy way to see at a glance what I've read without messing up my sorting.
I managed 42 in 2018, and forty-and-two-halves so far in 2019, so I think I can make a hat trick and get 42 one more year.Due to break 200 in the spring!
34 because thats how many I currently own off of the group shelf that I haven't read (they do tend to accumulate huh?). And after that I'll probably be reading the rest of the series that half of these have following them.
Wow, great pace, Mike!!
Ben, a worthy goal haha! That's the problem with books, is reading one tends to lead to more reading you gotta do. *Shakes a loving fist at the books*

I have generally been a part-time sci-fi and fantasy reader so I thought I might be out of my element here. I was happy to see that I have read 32 books from the group's bookshelf, and see several on my TBR list. Being new to this club's reading challenges, I am setting my goal at a modest 12.1.
