Charlotte took a couple more seconds to fully comprehend before a smile split her features and she laughed with joy, flinging her arms around him, her tail curling tightly around his. "Oh baby, it's so wonderful." She whispered, tucking her face between his neck and shoulder. Jay nodded, willing to try that. "Alright. A fact at a time." He agreed, enjoying the feel of her fingers in his hair. It was so strange to him to be this close to another person, but it was a very nice sort of strange. Then he laughed lightly, his ears turning pink again. "If you were feeling better, I would say you could give me a bath. I sure do need one. But you need your rest."
Stefan smiled and leaned in to kiss her deeply "did he hurt you darling?..." He asked worriedly and cupped her face looking deep in her eyes "Char...I want to create an egg, it must be more likely now that I am merman?"Drina ran her hand down his chest and smiled "I can rest and watch you bathe..." She smiled and flicked his nose and pecked it "tell me something you enjoyed as a child?"
Charlotte sighed, leaning into his touch. "He did... but it's ok..." She promised, trying to smile bravely. "It is unlikely that I conceived because of it. It was brief." She promised, closing her eyes tightly in shame that someone else had touched her. She tightened her tail around his a little, curling against him. "It would be much more likely." She agreed, still not looking up at him. Jay laughed softly. "We'll see. I don't know if I want to give away everything just yet." he teased, kissing her forehead. "I enjoyed boating as a child. My family grew up with a river in our backyard. It was beautiful, and I would sail boats I made in it."
Stefan frowned and tilted her chin up "it never happened." He convinced her "it has just been you and me darling...as it should be, Jason is a maimed sea serpent that will be devoured at time." He promised and smiled "this is a happy occasion!"Drina smiled listening closely and imagining a river though she had only seen oasis pools. "Would they float?....how did you build them?" She asked curiously and played with his fingers lightly.
Charlotte nodded, her smile slowly returning as she relaxed in his arms again. Her hand gingerly ran over the scales she could reach on his tail. "You have a tail..." She breathed, excited. "You have a tail! We could have kids together..." She smiled, kissing his cheek. Jay nodded, closing his eyes as he smiled. "They sure did float! I would make them out of whatever I could get my hands on. Tin cans sawed in half. Logs I carved, even old papers." He shrugged.
Stefan carefully laid her on the clamshell bed he nodded and kissed her "it feels wonderful when you touch my tail..." He whispered and nuzzled her "I motion that we shall try and create a child..."Drina smiled and thought about it "what else would you enjoy?...did you do lessons?"
Charlotte nodded, smiling softly. "I second that motion." She whispered, kissing him gently. "I know." she said then, stroking her fingers over his scales. "I know what it feels like, trust me." she said, smiling. Jay thought for a moment, and then nodding. "Quite a bit actually, hunting with my father, horseback riding, marksmanship, woodworking, piano, man... lots of lessons back in the day." He smiled a little.
Stefan shivered and smiled moving his tail against her, they fit so much better together he kissed her passionatelty lacing his fingers in her flowing hair.Drina smiled "I did a bit of that as well." She was glad they had so much in common, "I'd love to hear you play the piano..." She mused wrapping her arms around his neck.
Charlotte smiled, so filled with love, and joy. She let her fingers drift over his scales, not able to take enough of him in. Moaning softly, she kissed him back hard, loving that they could be together now, that they could have a child.Jay grinned. "The second I find one, I'll play for you, deal?" He asked, running his fingers through her hair. It was so soft after just being washed.
Stefan held her close after, he kissed her gently and nuzzled her neck, their fingers laced together. He was sure that they created life, he could feel it he couldn't explain it.."I love you my Charlotte..."Drina smiled and nodded "if I ever had my lute back I could play for you...I'm pretty sure that's the only talent I have..." She loved his fingers through her hair "don't stop..."
Charlotte smiled softly, curled up in his arms. "I love you too darling, and I trust you with my life. She could feel the child inside her already, starting to form as an egg in her womb. She let her fingers run over her stomach, feeling it in wonder. Jay smiled. "Lute? That's an awesome talent!" He said seeriously, honoring her request and continuing to play with her hair. "Piano was never very interesting..."
Stefan smiled and put his hand over hers on her stomach, he kissed her cheek "I will support you and our child forever...should we create an egg nest?"Drina shook her head "no it's so beautiful...and melodic, it can call out the birds in the sky and the roar of the waves! I once heard it when I was a child..."
Charlotte smiled, leaning into his touch. "Yes, a nest is a very good idea." She agreed. "Something to keep the egg safe while it is warmed." She agreed. Jay smiled, watching her in plain awe and wonder. "And you are a poet my dear." he whispered, kissing her nose. "I will try to play piano for you sometime, if I can."
Stefan smiled "just tell me how to build it and I will!" He promised excitement swelling in his chest. He strung pearls over her stomach as a decoration.Drina smiled "that would be the most wonderful gift..." She said honestly and leaned her forehead against his "I want to dance with you..."
Charlotte smiled, her heart beating with love for him. He already new his job, he was already trying to take care of her, and it made her flush with pride and joy. "It will be made from a layer of corals woven together with seaweed." She explained. "And on top of that, seasponges to soften the bottom." She told him, fingering the pearls. They meant more to her than words could. Jay smiled, taking her hand gently. He helped her up from the bed and gently guided one of her arms to his shoulder, and took the other in his own, his hand going to her waist.Then he slowly started to move them around the room in a nice slow waltz for her. "How's this?"
Stefan smiled and started to gather the coral outside of the cave, it was so fragile it nearly crumbled in his hands. He carefully gathered enough and pulled out large strands of seaweed "show me love..."Drina smiled and followed his lead, she felt no pain and it felt wonderful to glide across the room in the arms of the one she loved. "Perfect...don't stop..." She whispered and moved closer to him.
Charlotte smiled, falling in love with him all over again as she watched him collect coral. She swam out and gently took a couple pieces from him, smiling at him. She wrapped the seaweed carefully around each piece, weaving them together. Jay smiled, letting the hand on her waist move around to the small of her back, pulling her a little closer. "I'm glad." He whispered, practically floating around the room with her. She was so close, he swore he could feel her heartbeat against his.
Stefan smiled and watched her starting to weave a few pieces itself "this is beautiful...isn't sea sponge alive though?" He asked worriedly. He knew it was squishy and soft but what if it decided to move?Drina smiled and when they slowed to a different tempo she leaned in close to his chest and kissed it "this is very different from the dancing I know..."
Charlotte laughed softly. "Yes. Yes it is. But it will not move. I promise." she said, smiling at him. She was amused by some of his worries, worries she would never even think of. "Come try." she urged. Jay smiled, holding her gently, like a baby bird. "Teach me your dancing sometime." He said seriously. "If it's any faster than this, I doubt I could do it, but it would be fun to try." He said, smiling.
Stefan took a piece gingerly and started to weave it watching closely so he didn't mess it up. He smiled with a shrug "I'm still human darling, I have much to know..." He poked the sea sponge "very soft..."Drina smiled up at him grateful he wanted to know some of her customs as well "it's very fast! Not so graceful...we would dance around the fire while the fiddles play..."
Charlotte nodded, grinning at him. "Oh I know. Don't worry." she teased, kissing his cheek and bumping her tail against his. "The sponges need to be soft, so the egg does not crack before it should." She explained. Already her stomach was starting to show signs of slight swelling. Jay laughed. "Well then, I'd probably just watch you dance. I'm not that coordinated." He said honestly, kissing her forehead. "I'm a bit of a clutz to be honest..."
Stefan form the basket like shape, the edges curled around and would wrap around the egg keeping it stable and safe. He nuzzled her lovingly putting his hand on her stomach "what do they look like when they are born?"Drina shook her head "nonsense..." She insisted and cupped his face "you are a very coordinated fighter, I should know..." She teased lightly and kissed him "Im sure that you are a wonderful dancer..."
Charlotte wrapped her arm around him, smiling. "The egg? It depends on the parents, each is different. But generally they are very beautiful, like the scales on our tails." she said honestly, smiling. Jay laughed and kissed her back lightly. "Yeah... well... fighting is different than dancing..." He mumbled, his ears growing a little red again as his stomach fluttered.

Stefan smiled and kissed her head "and when it hatches? Does it look like a baby with a tail?..." He asked curiously imagining her warm the egg till it hatches. So incredible...Drina shook her head "no...see look." She pretended she had a sword "If you were attacking me I would spin out like this." She demonstrated and moved close to him "putting a blade to your throat you grab me." She demonstrated again "I move away again...you pull my arm to you again..." She orchestrated the whole thing and it truly was like a dance.
Charlotte smiled, thinking about it as well. "Yes, sort of. But they aren't as chubby as human children I'm told." She said, shrugging a little. "I guess we'll both see in a little while. She was excited and nervous for the upcoming while, knowing that she was undertaking a big responsibility. Jay followed her through the first couple motions, responding as he would in a fight. It was a dance, he noticed. Much quicker than what they were doing before. A sort of strange and deadly dance. But it was beautiful, and their movements flowed together perfectly.
Stefan nodded and helped her to the clam "rest love...growing a baby egg would be easier if you rest right? I love you so much...and I am already madly in love with that egg."Drina smiled when it was over and held him close and lovingly "see, you are a wonderful dancer..." She groaned in pain and leaned into him.
Charlotte sighed, nodding softly. "Yes it would. Night baby." She whispered, curling up, her tail around herself. "And just so you know, I was crazy for you from the start." She whispered, smiling a little, before drifting off. Jay smiled a little proudly. "Thank you." He said, kissing her forehead. He frowned though, when she doubled over in pain. "Drina? Honey, you ok?" he asked softly, worried that they had overdone it.
Stefan smiled and ran his hand down her tail before curling up and falling asleep tiredly. He was so grateful that they were going to start a family and Jason wouldn't be bothering them.Drina shook her head "Jay I need to lie down..." She said honestly and let him pick her up. She was so tired and sore and she had to finally admit if "just hold me..."
Over the hours of the night, Charlotte grew dramatically in size, as creating an egg was much faster than conceiving a child. Jay nodded and scooped her up, carrying her back to bed. He lay her down gently, tucking her in before laying beside her ontop of the covers. "Are you feeling ok?"
Stefan woke up and expected to be in the sheets in his bed and to see the sun filtering through the blinds. But what he saw was bubbles and the oyster shell...he turned to look at Char and gasped in surprise at her swollen stomach.Drina sighed and shook her head "I think I pushed it too much Jay...I just feel sick..." She admitted and lay on his chest "I hate this..."
Charlotte stirred a little in her sleep, her eyes slowly blinking open. "What is it?" She asked him, worried by his sharp gasp. "Is something wrong?"Jay stroked her hair gently, fully blaming himself for that. "I'm sorry. That's my fault. I should have remembered how careful you need to be." he said softly, sighing.
Stefan smiled "look at your beautiful stomach..." He said stroking it "there's a baby egg growing in there..." Drina shook her head and nuzzled his chest "I'm too stubborn to admit I'm in pain or tired...I like to be strong and tough, acting like a damsel was never me!"
Charlotte looked down and smiled softly. "Yes. Isn't it beautiful?" She asked softly. She let her hand rest over his. "And that baby egg is going to be out soon."Jay smiled softly. "Well thanks for letting me know that trait of yours." He said, lacing his fingers with hers. "Though its always nice to be taken care of once in a while, don't you think?"
Stefan smiled "will it hurt?" He asked worriedly thinking about the human deliveries and how painful those were. He didn't want her to hurt, it would kill him to see her in pain.Drina sighed "I've never let anyone help me Jay...I was supposed to be a son...my father wanted a son and nearly killed me...my mother died giving birth to my brother and my father disowned me ...I had to fend for myself and then care for my brother when my father got sick..."
Charlotte shrugged. "Sometimes it hurts. Depending on the girl. But most of the time its just a lot of strain." She explained, taking his hand in her own. Jay frowned as she started her story, and his frown only deepened as she continued. He hated it, hated how much she had been through. His arm tightened around her protectively. "I'm so sorry." He said softly, not knowing how else to express what he felt.
Stefan nuzzled her neck and kissed her "how will I be able to help?..." He wanted to be there at every step. He flipped his tail happily and smiled "I still can't believe I have a tail!"Drina shook her head "don't...no pity, I just need your love and forget my past. It's time to start over and love with you...to learn your customs and to be a lady."
Charlotte smiled, curling up into his arms. "Just be there ok? And make sure I don't tire before its done." she said seriously, running her fingers through his hair that slowly brushed around his face in the current. "You are beautiful with a tail honey. But I love you without one as well."Jay nodded, kissing her neck gently and just inhaling her scent. "Ok. No pity." he promised, closing his eyes. "And you know you have my love. We can start over in America. I promise."
Stefan smiled and nodded happily "I will..." He paused "if you do tire is it possible for me to remove the egg?" He brushed his tail against her cheek "I worry every second with you..."Drina smiled and shivered "that sounds so wonderful..." She snuggled closer and rested closing her eyes and immediately falling asleep.
Charlotte nodded slowly, closing her eyes and leaning into the touch of his tail. "It depends on how far along it was, but yes, potentially you could." She said, smiling at him. "It's nice to know I am looked after."Jay smiled down at her and gently ran his fingers through her hair once, before closing his eyes and he too fell asleep.
Stefan smiled and nodded "now you rest, I'm going to go on my first hunt to get you food." He promised and kissed her quickly "will you be alright?" Drina woke up as the sun blinded her in the morning she tucked herself in the blankets "go away sun..." She kissed Jay lovingly "wake up Captain...."
Charlotte smiled softly, loving how handsome and brave he seemed right at this moment. Hunting. He would try to hunt for her without having any idea of how to do it. It warmed her heart. "I'll be right here waiting. Don't be gone too long." She said, squeezing his hand. Jay squinted his eyes and groaned "morning already?" he asked, shading his eyes with one hand. The maids were bustling around them, getting them their breakfast and getting out again.
Stefan nodded and grabbed the bag that she used for hunting, he swam out of the cave and looked around for oysters and crabs. He knew he couldn't catch any fishes or anything he'd learn.Drina slowly sat up and looked at the food "I don't understand how someone could wait on a person all day..."
Charlotte sat in the clam shell, just waiting for him. The egg was growing quite large inside her, stretching her stomach more than she thought she could grow. She knew it would be soon. Jay nodded, pulling the trays on the table over to them. "I am very thankful to our maids, that's for sure. They do make life easier." He said, handing her the warm bread carefully, before taking his own piece.
Stefan came back and frowned seeing her the fetal position and looking like she was about to pop "Char..." He swam over and took her hand "are you alright?"Drina sighed "I don't like to be waited upon...i don't think it's right, one would not know how to do anything themselves!" She sighed "too early to rant..." She took a bite of her bread.
Char smiled weakly, squeezing his hand. Then she paled and sighed. "Will be in a minute." She whispered, getting up from her spot and trying to swim out to their next, but found it very hard with her large stomach. Jay nodded, understanding what she said. "I get where you're coming from." He agreed, eating the buttered bread slowly. "Man..." He whispered. "This is so good..." he finished the bread quickly and moved onto one of his fried eggs.
Stefan helped carefully lead her to the nest, and had her lean on him as lay on the nest. "You are doing beautifully...."Drina smiled and fed him a bite of egg "enjoy it...you need to take care of yourself besides me." She took a sip of milk "what is this?...it's so delicious!"
Charlotte smiled weakly at him and held his hand, her tail straightening out as she grit her teeth and pushed, starting the process of laying the egg. Jay bit the egg off the fork and smiled a little. "So good..." he breathed, grinning. Then he laughed. "That would be milk my dear. I suppose you have not had much in the desert?" he knew they had goats, but goat milk was much more bitter than cow milk.
Stefan rubbed her back and down her tail trying ease the strain. He watched under her and massaged where he knew the indent was.Drina smiled "you don't drink milk...it has hair in it usually and it's warm..." She took another sip and smiled up at him "breakfast was very different..."
Charlotte kept her eyes closed tight in concentration, her muscles bunching in effort to move the egg out. Jay grimaced. "Well that doesn't sound very nice." he said, his nose wrinkling up. Then he smiled. "I bet. You lived off what you could. There is more than enough in abundance here." He smiled, and then sighed.
Drina smiled and pecked his lips "we'll take it slow, just a fact at a time..." She assured and ran her hand through his hair "I don't think it is very fair however that you have seen all of me and I not you." She smirked wondering how he would take it
