Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jace stared at her for a moment, his mouth slightly ajar. He had not expected that at all, and the news both pained him, and made him fill with joy. She had been hiding this? Because she was afraid? He couldn't feel more sick about it. Because she was right. In this state, he was a danger to the child, and to her, and this couldn't go on… but even that knowledge didn't make him strong. It just made him want to try harder, even though he felt more like crying currently. So he sat with her on the swing, gathering her into his arms and resting his chin on top of her head. He sat there in silence a moment, trying to let them both calm, before he started to whisper. "I was in a concentration camp for one year, eighteen days, and nine hours. First day I got there, they branded my neck with a number. I didn't have a name anymore. I was just one more number among the masses." the scar on his neck started to itch, but he kept going. "We ate watery oatmeal and little else most days, sleeping ten people in a room the size of a closet. Most nights I couldn't even move, under the two people sleeping on top of me. And when you woke up, after two hours or less of actual rest, you felt bruised and weak, and still, they put us to work." He kept talking, even though, at some point, his voice had grown hoarse with emotion and he could no longer see through the tears. Still, he spoke of his work, of the fellow prisoners he watched die. Of the two times he tried to escape, both after which he was brutally tortured. And of all the times he thought he would go, or had already gone insane because of the mundane routines, the tiny quarters, the claustrophobia, and paranoia, constant hunger, and droning silence, and the never ending question of who would die next. When he finally talked of getting rescued, he felt he had talked for so long that his tongue hardly worked anymore, but he finished his story. He would try, for her, and he had. Not that talking made him feel any better, beyond feeling accomplished. It just made all the feelings more raw, reminding him of memories he had not wanted to relive.

Brandon looked down at the boy in his arms, amazed and awed all at once. It was almost too good to believe in. "Such a handsome little baby…" he cooed, managing to rock his son, even though he was weak. He was so grateful to have this moment, to have been able to be there with Delaney.
Lilly peered over the edge of the bed at the baby, her eyes wide in wonder and she smiled. "AppleJack!" She said, naming the most fun name to say that she knew. Plus, she loved Applejacks.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Mai cried softly with him as he told the story, he hugged him around the neck tightly and buried her face just holding onto the fact that he was alive and here with her. She sniffed and dried her tears grabbing the notes the doctor had given her to read off after each night "the d-doctor found a prisoner friend of yours...he wants you to call him and reunite. He says it will definately be the biggest step forward for you..." She placed his hand on her stomach trying to get him to understand why he was doing this, what was coming up in their lives.

Mai laughed softly "that can be his nickname ok? But what about Jack? Or Jackson?" She watched the boy and found that suited his chubby kissable cheeks and dark, dark eyes. Couldn't even see the pupils at this light. He would be a heartbreaker like his daddy "what do you think Brand?"

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jace held onto her, both to comfort her, because he didn't like seeing her cry, and also to comfort himself, because he knew he needed the support right now. The emotions were too raw. He had unblocked them and torn down the walls with the notebook, and now he was just reliving memories, and it was painful. "I'll call then." He said softly, knowing he didn't have much choice about it anyways. He held his hand on her stomach, marvelling at the fact that they were on the way towards a family. It was almost surreal. But he couldn't have been happier. He just wished this tension was gone. And he knew if he worked at it, it could be by the time the child was born. They still had nearly a year to go. "I'm sorry, Mai, for all the trouble I've been. You deserve someone more stable."

Lilly thought hard about that, as if contemplating those, and then she nodded in satisfaction, clearly deciding that those would suffice. "I like Jack." She said honestly.
Brandon nodded from his bed, as he too thought it was a cute name. And what a sweeter way to gain it than through the suggestion of his older sister? "Jackson could be his given name, and everyone could just call him Jack. And then we could call him Apple Jack." the corners of his eyes wrinkled into a smile.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Mai smiled softly and pulled his face down to kiss him "Do you remember when you abandoned me on the date? That I didn't deserve, but when you...when you saved me from Derrick and got all jealous about Pablo...that was worth it. I love you, I deserve you...you deserve me! We are having a perfect little baby...can't we just be excited about that?"

((want to start the other charries? I'm feeling blank.))
