Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Laila brightened the moment she saw Chris on the screen. Even with the choppy connection and crappy audio, it was still amazing to see him and hear his voice again. She ran her fingers over the screen, smiling. "I'm alright, considering I'm at nine months now." She said honestly, making pleasant chatter with him. "And Parker's been crazy busy with puzzles and teaching Munchkin to jump through a hoop. She'll want to talk to you in a bit here." She said honestly, raking a hand through her now long dark hair. She hadn't cut it in a while. "But tell me about your work." She insisted. "Is it going well?" She surveyed his face, the worry clear. "You're not in too much danger, right?" Nothing worried her more than the thought of Chris getting hurt while she was here and defenceless to help him. Not to mention with child.

Ashley closed her eyes, the shivers running from every place he touched. He sure could be convincing, and she knew there was no way she was refusing. "I'm definitely interested." She whispered, broken from the trance he put her in, only by little Pudge's whining. "Good for him for holding it and not going on the lighthouse!" She said, picking him up and kissing his head as she ran down the steps. "Good boy! You're such a good little boy!" She cooed, setting him down on the grass so he could find a spot to go. "You're doing this next time, Malibu. I'm sure not going to do this every fifteen minutes…" She insisted.

Jace shook his head, amused by the fact that his sister and girlfriend were both scheming plans for him. And it was the sudden realization that he actually had just felt true amusement that spurred him forwards and put speed back into his limbs. "Keep up old lady." He teased, as he sprinted past her and gained speed. Man, it felt good to move again… to be active, to be free. He really just wanted to get on his bike and ride and ride and keep riding. But for now, sprinting into the wind through the streets was a good second best. He was alive, and there was still so much to live for. Jace whooped, not caring who saw him, or who judged him, or what shadows were lurking. All that could wait. He was free and he was going to revel in it.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Chris smiled softly "Are you still going to Cora to have the baby? Danny promised he would take you to the hospital when it was time. How is Krissy doing with the special needs hiking team?" he was worried about her and his family, he couldn't be with them and that was impossible "I uh taking some time off I got injured and Brandon won't let me back until I'm ok. How's Parker handling everything?"

Malibu chuckled "I will, I will...oh look there he goes, he's a good dog really I just guess we just have to get used to eachother." he picked up the dog and nuzzled him "Let's be friends huh? I'll let you sleep on the bed and get you the wet dog food deal?"

Delaney laughed and raced after him, she had never seen him so happy "Hey pregnant ladies should not be running this fast!" She rushed to him and laughed whooping along with him. She never saw him this happy and she knew that he was healing and feeling again, no longer numb

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Laila nodded quickly, as she knew right away that she didn't want to have a child any other way than with Cora again. It had been such a good decision to do it that way last time. "I'll definitely be going through Cora." She assured. "Krissy's loving her team. She still gets frustrated, and some nights I'm up to her crying or frustrated, but each week it's getting better." She said honestly. "She misses you too, you know. Talks about it all the time." She sighed softly. And it had only been a month. The next five would be a very very long time. Her eyes shot to him then when he started skirting around the topic of him being injured. She surveyed him carefully, and then let herself relax again. At least he was off and recovering, and he didn't look that damaged. "Parker sleeps in our bed with me. I think it scares her, you being gone, and she get's nightmares." She admitted. "But sleeping with me has helped, I think." Her thoughtful frown became a little pained.

Ashley smiled, warmed to see him making an effort with the dog. "Relationships are two ways." She agreed, watching as Pudge immediately reacted to Malibu's friendly attitude and started wagging his tail and yipping, trying to frantically like Malibu's face like the world would end if he didn't do it properly. "There, you see?" She laughed softly. "Just takes a little coddling and he's your best friend." She petted Pudge gently and gave Malibu's hand a light squeeze. "Let's head home…" She suggested.

Jace looked back at her, raising an eyebrow. "Then why don't you just let me win?" he teased, reaching the apartment much quicker than he had anticipated. They must have sprinted the whole way here. He felt the ache in his muscles then, and leaned against the doorframe, panting, but grinning. "Not bad for a pregnant lady…" he said, smirking at her. It was still so weird for him to think about his sister having a child. Beyond weird actually, he felt too young for that. In fact, he felt like he was just catching up on life now, and was still only in his teens. He felt like he had missed a good chunk of time.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Chris smiled softly at her but underneath the table his leg was half blown off, he had to make a decision and it was impossible. Lose the leg and leave the agency going back home to his family. Or going through multiple surgeries trying to save the leg and continue to be an agent, he was trying to let it heal but it got more painful after every new surgery he didn't know how long it could go on "Im glad you have eachother...I wouldn't be ok without knowing my girls were alright...tell Kassandra that I love her, that I am inspired and proud of her..." He sighed knowing time was running out he only got an hour of power "can I talk to Parker?" He asked softly getting choked up just thinking about having to tell her goodbye again, the next time he'd see her she'd would have delivered the baby...

Malibu laughed as the dog showered him with 1000 sweet kisses, he put him down handing Ashley the leash, his arm wrapped around her waist as they headed back down to the jeep. He felt a flash of anger as he saw all the tires slashed and written in blood on the windshield it said 'you're next' underneath was a picture of Brandon tortured with scared pleading eyes. He slammed his fist on the trunk looking for whoever did this. He immediately called Antony waiting impatiently for him to pick up.

Delaney laufhed lightly shaking her head as she panted her hand over her semi-flat stomach "I don't let anyone win!" She laughed and hugged him stepping into the apartment and grabbing a Gatorade for them both. Mai came in and blinked seeing how happy and alive he looked "good run?" She inquired raising a brow a smile forming on her face.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Laila nodded slowly in agreement. As she knew he probably worried about them just as much as she worried about him. Her only consolation was that he didn't look too hurt, and he was taking a break for whatever injury he did sustain. As long as he was safe and getting better, then she was content. "I'll let Krissy know." she promised. She turned then to call, "Parker! Your father would like to speak with you." She smiled as a beaming Parker ran into the room, plopping down into the chair her mother stood from. "Hi Dad!" She said, thrilled to see him. "Have you solved ze case?" she asked, as always, she was eager to know what her father was doing over wherever he was, as she had always thought that him being an agent was the coolest thing ever.

Ashley looked over Malibu's shoulder at their little visitor's message and her breath hitched. "Oh no…" She said softly, scooping up the no longer waggy tailed Pudge. Hugging him to herself, she stood by Malibu for when he would finish his call and they could talk about what to do next.
It took Antony a moment to pick up, as he was in the middle of feeding the twins, to give Mira a break and a little time off. "Hey, wassup?" He asked, balancing the phone on his shoulder as he held his two kids.

Jace smirked, pulling her into his arms and kissing her deeply. "Oh don't look too smug." He whispered, nudging his nose against hers. "How long did it take you and Dels to hatch this plan?" he raised an eyebrow at her. "And don't act all innocent. It was a smart plan, regardless of how I don't like being ganged up on by the females in my life…" He grinned, kissing her again, before reaching out and snagging a Gatorade from Delaney. "And I need a shower." he stated, screwing open the drink and chugging half of it in one go.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Chris smiled at his sweet daughter "Bug! You've grown a foot or two!" he teased her and smiled softly at her giggling bright face "I've missed you kiddo! I've heard a lot about your munchkin tricks and I can't wait to see them! Mom is going to have the baby soon are you excited?" he asked trying to keep the energy upbeat and personal so it didn't seem like they were continents away. He rubbed his leg wincing as he felt the pain trickle down the suture line, the pills were wearing off and he was going to be suffering soon.

Malibu started to pace frustrated and pained as he finally got Antony on the phone "Do you know the whereabouts of Brandon? I received a threat note and a picture of him in shitty shape...I think he's in trouble and I think that we are next on the black list..." he watched his frightened wife and winced wishing he could make it all better and not have her live in fear.

Mai laughed softly and kissed him with the same intensity and wrapped her arms around him and held him tightly "I think I might be joining you in that..." she teased and winked "Tell your sister goodbye I'm locking you in that bedroom and having my way with you!" she teased and sipped out of his gatorade finding great relief that things were starting to feel normal again. She had her guy back.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Parker beamed and leaned her arms on the desk so she could be as close to the screen and her father as possible. "I know!" She squeaked, clearly thrilled that he thought so. "I'm almost the tallest in my class!" She said proudly, "And I really want to see you soon so I can show you Munchkin's tricks. You'll love them!" she insisted. "But I'm nervous about my new sibling. I'm supposed to help Mom, and I don't know how to. I feel like I would just make it worse." And then the concerned look on her face turned into a frown as she watched her father wince. "Daddy… are you ok? I'm scared of messing up with Mom, but I'm more scared of your getting hurt. You aren't hurt, right? You're ok and you're going to come home soon?" she asked, clearly nervous.
Chris's doctor, assigned to check on him every now and then, walked in then, with his bottle of meds, setting it on the table beside him. "Power will go off in about three minutes, Chris, better wrap it up." He cautioned. "The pills are there for when you're ready."

Antony's expression immediately curdled into a frown. "No, I haven't been keeping tabs on anyone recently since I quit the agency." he admitted, starting up his watch again, which was a little rusty from disuse. "But I can find out his location now." He offered, typing in the commands as he balanced the phone on his shoulder. "Sucks that we're being targeted again though. Any idea on by whom?" He asked, watching as the red dot slowly narrowed in on a place. "Got a tab on Brandon. Warehouse. Outside of town. You're about three miles from there. Signal's going in and out though. Must be in a dead area. Or they're jamming trackers."

Jace smirked, amused, and he turned to glance at Delaney over Mai's shoulder. "Looks like my girlfriend is kicking you out…" He said, knowing she'd understand. She'd planned this after all. Jace turned back to the girl in his arms and he smiled softly. Man he loved her. And he knew that he loved her more now that he wasn't carrying any baggage around with him. "Come on then." He wrapped his arm around her waist and walked towards the washroom with her. "You can help out with my shower." he winked.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Chris had a decision to make, he saw the fear on his daughter's face and knew he just wanted to be home with them. He waited till Laila was back on the screen "honey? I don't have a lot of time but I'll be home soon I can't answer any questions right now but I love you..." He watched the screen go black and turned to the doctor "take the leg...I can't deal with the pain much more, I can tell by your face that this is pretty inevitable anyways..."

Malibu nodded in thought and grabbed his pack from the back of his jeep, he pecked Ashley's cheek "take pudge and head home I'll be there as soon as I can alright?" He nuzzled her and pay the whimpering dog's head as he started his run towards the warehouse letting HQ know in case he needed back up. He snuck stealthily in and saw him tied up to a chair he groaned frustrated and used the lazor point from quite a distance and sliced off the ropes without being detected.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Laila frowned when Parker came running out, saying something was wrong with Chris. She rushed back in just in time to hear Chris say he'd be home soon, before the screen went black. Hugging the very stressed Parker to herself, she stared at the black screen, wondering what he had meant by he was coming home soon. He wasn't due to come home for another couple of months! He wasn't in trouble, was he?
The doctor nodded slowly, not disagreeing with Chris that there was a good chance he would have lost his leg anyways. "Alright." he agreed. "We'll leave as much of your leg as we can, so you can still walk with an aid," He assured. "It'll all be done soon."
An hour later, Chris had undergone an extensive surgery, but the doctors were optimistic that the damage had stayed confined to his leg, and that enough muscle tissue was still intact that he would still be able to walk, albeit, with a limp on his fake calf, but it was better than nothing.

Ashley nodded solemnly, knowing better than to argue with him, and she put Pudge in the car, getting in and starting it up. She drove back to their place and sat tight, hugging the dog and watching the clock, counting down the minutes and worrying about her love.
In the warehouse, Brandon was hardly aware of what was going on. So when the ropes around him were cut, he slumped forwards onto the floor, groaning weakly. Inwardly, he knew this meant someone was here to help him. But outwardly, he was hardly able to do anything at all. He just hoped whoever was here would be able to get him out without being caught as well.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Chris worked with his new state of the art prosthetic, it hardly felt different then his leg. It felt good and lite, better then his damaged leg felt. He contacted HQ telling them that he was heading home. Shortly he flew home and knocked on the door of the beach house. He couldn't wait to see his family and he would be here for the new baby! He couldn't wait he was eager until Parker swung the door open.

Malibu swore, he was in really bad shape. Clicking a switch on his watch he started a smoke screen and killed the guards and people surrounding Brandon with a scorpion sting, a fish line shot out severing 5 carotid arteries at once. He quickly grabbed Brandon over his shoulder and got him to the HQ infirmary quickly.

message 3661: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Parker had run to the door when the knock sounded, and the pattering of feet along with Munchkin's happy barks came to the door as Parker yanked it open and shrieked in thrilled surprise, leaping at her father and hugging him tight. "Dad!" She cried, tucking her face against her father. "I missed you so much Daddy… I missed you so so so much." She said, not willing to let go of him. Munchkin danced around them both, frantically yipping and trying to lick Chris's hand. When everyone ignored him, he finally clamped down on Chris's shirt and tried to tug him inside. Parker immediately grew angry. "Munchy! That's bad manners!" She said, shaking her finger at the dog who sat down with his tail tucked between his legs. Parker looked apologetically at her father. "He's just upset because he wanted to see Mum and she locked him out of the bathroom." She explained.

Brandon went unconscious during some part of their trip back to HQ, where Antony was there to meet them and help Brandon onto a stretcher and into the emergency. They were kept out as the doctors started work, but they were informed as to what was being done to their friend as the hours passed. One nurse came out part way through, smiling gently. "You might wish to notify his family. He's in pretty bad shape, but he'll live. His skin will be forever scarred from the burns and cuts he received, he's lucky to have not bled to death." She said honestly. "And… he might lose one of his eyes. There was a lot of acid damage, and we're trying to work on it, but it doesn't look optimistic."

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Chris chuckled hugging his little girl tightly and kissing her head "my little sprout is turning into a beautiful flower!" He nuzzled her and bent down to give Munchkin a belly rub and giving him the attention that he was begging for. He smiled and headed to the bedroom and smiled at his wife "hey you..." He said softly and wrapped his arms around her and kissed her tenderly nudging his nose against hers. He rubbed her swollen stomach grateful he wasn't going to miss this event.

Malibu paced and cursed, feeling angry and frustrated. He should have been there! His friend was permanently damaged and his poor wife was with child..,Delaney rushed in fighting against the nurses and doctors "damn it let me see him!" She screamed her rage and fear evident in her eyes and quivering lips. She pushed past them being very strong and quick from training. She ran to his side and sobbed taking his scarred hand in hers and burying her face in his chest "Brandon..."

message 3663: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Parker beamed, happy that her father thought she was growing up. She felt proud of herself, and definitely accomplished, for if her father was proud, then she must have done something good. She grinned as she watched Munchkin whine and whimper happily as he finally got some attention, his tail wagging back and forth furiously.
Laila looked up when Chris entered the room and she sobbed in relief, throwing her arms around him, hugging him as best as she could around her large stomach. "You're back… You're actually back…" She said, not able to help her tears as she clung to him, kissing his cheeks and his nose and his lips over and over. "I missed you. I missed you so much it hurt…" She admitted, still holding onto him like she didn't ever want to let go. Then she seemed to remember herself. "But why did you come back? Are you ok? Is everything ok?" she asked, clearly worried.

Antony watched Malibu pace for a moment before he finally sighed, standing from his chair. "There was nothing more we could have done, Malibu." he said gently, gesturing towards the cafeteria. "Let's go grab a snack, and take a break for a bit. We can come back and visit Brandon in a moment." He promised, starting to walk over.
Brandon had never known so much pain. His whole body felt it, and it was burning through him. His skin hurt, his bones ached, and his eye burned. And then someone came in, with a lovely voice that he recognized. And that lovely voice scooped up his hand and buried her face in his chest. "Gently…" he wheezed, as even the soft touch hurt. "Delaney?" he asked softly, hoping he was right.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Chris was so grateful for the reunion the soft kisses, the tender embrace as he carefully wiped away her tears and nuzzled his nose against hers he smiled softly setting her back on the bed carefully and taking both of her hands in his "darling...I need you not to fret or be upset. I am without pain anymore and I feel better, stronger. I feel it kind of humorous that my hand is metal and my leg." He rolled up his pant leg showing her the intricate work of his prosthetic "I tried multiple surgeries trying to save it but it got too painful..."

Delaney quickly moved her head worried about his pain she just wanted him out of pain and at peace "im so sorry love!" She dried her tears quickly and took a deep breath. She saw a little bottle of lavender near his bedside and dumped a couple of drops on her finger and smoothed it over the scars and burns. It eased his pain and calmed him to a soothing state. "Better?" She asked softly her voice shaking slightly.

message 3665: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Laila let him guide her back to the bed where she sat and looked at him, clearly worried. And the sentence asking her not to worry made her worry even more, because she knew that meant that he had serious news. But he requested her strength, and so she called on as much of it as possible to brace herself for what news this would be. When he pulled up his pant leg, she frowned a moment, not even noticing a difference at first. And then she realized what it was, and what had happened, and she gasped, clasping a hand over her mouth in surprise. He had been injured somehow… and somehow he had been trying to save his leg, but it had been painful, and he finally took it off. Or that was the gist of what she got from his story. Be strong. Be strong. She lowered her hand again, surveying his leg and trying to decide if it was the very best, for if he had a prosthetic, then he certainly deserved a good one. When she was satisfied that it looked fairly functional, to the point that he was still walking and not in pain, she nodded slowly and looked back at him. "As long as you aren't in any pain… then I'm just happy to see you here safe and sound again." She said honestly, managing a smile then. "I'm so, so happy to have you back… and just in time to have this little guy." She said, resting a hand on her stomach. "It's going to be any day now, and I can't be more thankful for that. With the heartburn and you being gone I've been trying to sleep upright on the couch, but haven't gotten much rest." She said honestly. "Even if it means waking up every hour to feed the baby, I'll be glad for what sleep I can get when they come."

Brandon relaxed as gently fingers rubbed something over his wounds. Something that must have been magical, because the pain started to fade, and he found himself breathing easier. Now that his face wasn't scrunched up in pain, he could open his eyes a little to see the beauty that was his love. One of his eyes was milky-white and blind, but he was just thankful that he could still see out of the other one. "Much." He whispered, a weak half-smile forming on his features. "Guess I'm not much of a looker anymore, am I?" he asked softly, trying to lighten the mood. He hated seeing his girl so stressed and sad.

message 3666: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Chris flinched at her reaction, he grabbed her hand that wasn't covering her mouth and squeezed it tightly trying to help her through it. "It's the best the scientists have created, it functions with the same nerves and muscles that a leg does...touch it, i'll be able to feel your hand." he said honestly and smiled putting his cheek to her belly and nuzzling it "It's gotten much bigger, wonder if it even recognizes my voice." he had been gone about three months so it was an increase. He watched her worriedly and pushed her hair back looking deep into those gorgeous eyes "Why don't we get Cora to induce you, I don't want you uncomfortable anymore and it's far enough along that the baby would be fine..." he hated seeing those tired dark circles and stress lines on her ageless fave "I love you so much..." he admitted and smiled as Parker came in "Hey kid!" he pulled her onto his lap holding onto her tightly.

Delaney smiled softly as he relaxed and played with his hair "You are still my Brand...the man I fell deeply in love with, don't you get that I'm just glad you are ok? Poor Malibu got a tongue lashing and abuse when he called me...I was so scared...I didn't even know you were gone...I just went to see my brother and then...you were hurt...tortured..." she started to cry burying her face in his pillow.

message 3667: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Part of Laila marvelled at how far science had come, part of her mourned Chris's loss, and another part of her was extremely glad that he had the opportunity to have such a nice replacement. She ran her fingers through his hair as he nuzzled her stomach and she winced, taking a deep breath. "You don't have to worry about that…" she assured. "They most definitely recognize you." She promised. She leaned her head on his shoulder, taking a deep breath. Inducing? Might be nice to just get it over with. "I don't know… I suppose I would be open to it." she said honestly, as Parker ran into their bedroom. She smiled, watching as their little girl leaped onto his lap and circled up there, content to be held by her father. The baby kicked again, this time more insistently, and Laila's wince was accompanied by a gasp. Parker frowned, worried about her mother. "Daddy, what's wrong with Mum?"
Laila rubbed her stomach, bending over it. "Get the car started…" She whispered.

Brandon closed his eyes again, too tired to keep them open, and this time he smiled softly, amused. "I'll have to apologize to Mali later. I'm sure he didn't mind…." his smile dwindled when he heard his wife start crying, a sound that broke his heart. He swallowed and lifted a hand weakly, trying his best to hug her. "Hey…" he whispered, running his fingers through her hair. "Hey… shhh… it's ok. I'm alive… just like you said… a little battered… but I'm still here for you…." he turned his head and kissed her forehead, wincing at the movement, but he wanted her to feel better, and he hated seeing her so sad. "I'm not going anywhere… I promise." He vowed softly, squeezing her hand as best as he could. He was growing more tired already from how long he had been awake and doing things, but he wanted to spend more time with his love.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Chris quickly stood, he put Parker on her feet and ran to get the keys and got his old truck started, it took awhile since it hadn't been driven for the three months he was gone. He ran back to his love and helped her into the front seat and Parker hopped into the back since he didn't have a sitter for her arranged. He drove quickly to Cora's clinic and helped her inside they finally got into the exam room and looked up as Cora came in "She...I...the baby...is...coming." he said stressed running a hand through his hair and getting a coloring book for Parker to stay busy with.

Delaney shook her head and dried her tears knowing that it was upsetting him "I'm ok...I'm ok, I'm sorry...it's just these hormones and everything..." she snuggled to his side being careful to not hurt him and sighed "Get some sleep...you are probably exhausted, Lilly is with my dad..." she assured him and sighed "Do you need some pain killers?"

message 3669: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Laila had slumped further over her stomach when Chris came back for her, and she leaned heavily on him for the walk to the truck, grimacing the entire time. It was a relief to get to the hospital, because by that time, her stomach was really starting to cramp up and she didn't think she could walk a step further. But somehow they managed to get through the hospital and into Cora's clinic. Not a moment too soon either, as Laila's knees buckled and she whimpered. A nurse had seen them approaching and had immediately got the bath water started up, knowing that that was what Laila had requested. It was starting to bubble and fill up, but it would still be a little longer before it was ready for her to go into. She smiled at Laila as she left, patting her arm gently. "That's going to be a big healthy baby, dear. Good luck!" She left them as Cora entered and smiled gently at the couple. "So nice to see you two again. And Chris, I wasn't expecting you! What a lovely surprise." she smiled, checking on the bath. "It'll just be a little bit longer before that's ready for her, so if you could just help keep her breathing and get her undressed that would be great." she said, disappearing into an adjoining room to gather some supplies for the birth.
"That woman is always so confoundedly calm…" Laila grit out, wincing.

It was Brandon's turn to look worried then, and he reached his hand over to her stomach. "You're doing ok, though, right?" He asked, clearly worried. "Everything is fine? You're feeling alright?" This was going to be his first baby, after all, and he was nervous about something going wrong, or happening to compromise the pregnancy, and he wanted it all to go smoothly. "I'm not that tired…" He insisted, more focused on making sure she was ok, at the moment, than for his own comfort.

message 3670: by McKensie (new)

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Chris felt some relief as Cora walked in, he felt like he could release his stress and give her the responsibility of birthing his child. He smiled over at Parker wondering if she would be traumatized by this, he got Laila into the hospital gown and undressed as he rolled out the balance ball and helped her onto it rubbing her shoulders and letting her breathe, "you've got this..,hey at least you didn't have to be on the exam table!"

Delaney shook her head "stop arguing..,get some sleep, I am fine...we've got some time before it wants to come..." She was scared that he wouldn't be well enough to help her with the delivery. She nuzzled his chest and sighed closing her eyes listening to his heart beat "Lilly wants to visit you tomorrow..."

message 3671: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Parker glanced up from the table, smiling lightly and then looking quickly back at her colouring. She knew what was happening, and she didn't really want to watch, so she just focused on what colours she would pick for her pictures.
Laila was just trying to focus on breathing steadily as her stomach rolled in waves of discomfort. "Yeah. At least this isn't complete torture." She agreed, huffing through pursed lips. "I'm more thankful that you're here." She said honestly, bouncing on the ball he had rolled out for her. Cora walked in again then, checking up on Laila. "Bath's almost ready there love. Still doing ok?"
Laila nodded, not bothering to open her eyes as she just focused on breathing, in out. It wasn't to bad yet, the key word of course being 'yet'.
Cora smiled. "Good girl. Looks like you're coming along fine. Keep breathing."
Laila grimaced, wanting to retort sarcastically, but she waited until Cora was out of the room to start muttering under her breath. "What was I going to do, just stop?" she shook her head, wincing again. "How long does a bath take to fill?"

Brandon sighed softly, trying to convince himself that she was ok and that everything would be alright. He wouldn't be able to sleep otherwise. So he relaxed beside her, absent mindedly playing with her hair as he listened to her speak. Her voice alone was soothing. "I'd love to see Lilly tomorrow." he said honestly, missing their little girl. "But will she be ok, seeing me like this?" he asked softly, worried, no scared of what expression he might see on his baby girl's face. It terrified him.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Chris chuckled shaking his head, he missed his girl's short quips and sarcasm. It what made him laugh for the first time in a long time on their first date. He rubbed up her back and smiled massaging her neck and shoulders "you have this, you are in control and you've done this before...im here im never leaving you again." He promised and kissed her temple "I missed you...the other agents didn't have family, they chose to have vasectomys I coukdnt even imagine it. I wouldn't be the great agent I am without my family's support." He admitted holding her around the waist from behind.

Delaney pecked his cheek caressing it gently with the back of her hand "it's ok...she's been pre-warned of your condition she's 9 years old Brand...not our sweet little girl...she's just happy her dad is ok. The doctor's told me you woukdnt live..,"

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Laila grit her teeth as discomfort rocked her. But he was right. She was strong. She'd done this before. She could do it again. But this time… the baby felt so much bigger. She leaned into Chris for comfort and strength, and smiled. "Missed you too, loverboy." She whispered, turning her head to kiss his cheek. "We need you just as much as you need us, you know. It was a rough couple of months without you…" She admitted softly. She winced then, rubbing her stomach. "Baby's impatient to see you…" She murmured, trying to keep breathing steadily, but it was growing harder. Cora came back in then, smiling lightly. "You can get in the bath whenever you're ready, Laila. And Chris, you might need to help her…"

Brandon nodded slowly, a little bit comforted by that fact. "Alright." He said softly. He would like to see his little girl, and she was right. She wasn't a baby anymore. Their little Lilly could handle herself just fine. "Well I'm alive. And yes, exhausted. G'night love… I'll see you in the morning…" he said softly, a smile on his face as he drifted off beside his love.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Chris smiled encouragingly and lifted her wobbling to the pool and lowering her in, he was shocked to see the baby crowning already "impatient indeed! My word how have you handled this pain Laila?" He got in with her hdibg her from behind as Cora got prepped and ready to deliver the baby. He was still astounded how something that was smaller then a head of a pin can become a baby and then a child!" He motioned Parker over to join them so she could be part of it.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Laila couldn't really get in the bath herself, as she was just putting all her energy in maintaining her calm, and continuing to breathe, which was growing harder and harder to manage as the baby shifted in her. "Third time's the charm…" She grimaced in answer, leaning back into him for support as the pain grew stronger. Stabbing rippled through her and she cried out, panting. "Can I push yet!?" She gasped, as Parker walked hesitantly over, a little weirded out at seeing her mother almost naked, and the bath water starting to grow bloody around her as the baby came closer and closer to emerging. "Is everything alright?" She asked, frightened.
A nurse patted her arm and nodded, explaining that as the baby drew closer to coming, it was normal to see some blood. She pointed out how the head was starting to show, and gently explained how during the next bit, Laila would have to work and push to get the baby's head out, after which the rest would follow. The explaining made Parker grimace, but she wasn't panicked anymore, and she watched in fascination and suspense.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Chris was proud of his girl, he helped massage down her legs and hips trying to help ease and relax the muscles. He saw the nod from Cora and pecked her hair "push honey you are almost there!" He encouraged and watched Parker feeling good that she wasn't freaked out by it. It was natural and beautiful, he remembered holding Parker after this and never wanting to let her go.

Mira went to Antony balancing the twins on each hip, he promised they were quitting but low and behold he got sucked up again. She was worried about Brandon of course! They were team mates and what happened was sickening! But, she wanted her husband back, juggling three kids was neary impossible for one person.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Laila squeezed his hand tightly through the pain, just gritting her teeth and screwing up her face as she moaned and gave it her all, pushing, and then taking a break as the wave passed. She panted, preparing herself, and then tensed up and cried out again as the cycle started over. Parker winced each time her mother cried out. She didn't like seeing her in pain, but she was interested in the whole process, and she watched as the baby kept growing closer to sliding out, her eyes growing steadily wider.

Antony looked up from the caf table where he had his head in his hands when his wife came over, and he put on a smile for her, standing up and walking over to embrace her and take one of the twins so she didn't have to balance both at once. "Hey lovely…" he kissed her cheek. "How have you been?" he asked, wanting to talk about something else other than all the morbid things he'd been thinking about while Brandon was being worked on.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Mai was walking with Jace to the counselor appointment. She held his hand tightly smiling reassuringly up at him "please dont throw the book this time...the book is helping and you know it." She checked him in and sat on the couch waiting for his counselor. She had to be included in this session and she didn't know why.

Delaney was a wreck sitting by Brandon all night. She couldn't closr her eyes knowing her husband could die. Plus the cramping was getting pretty awful, she was going to pick up Lilly at the airport and head back over. She was exstatic to see her little girl but was worried how she would react to her father's injuries even she would look away.

Chris watched enthralled as the squalling baby slid out kicking it's little legs and stretching like a starfish. The nurse laughed "very active little girl!" She put the baby on Laila's chest as Cora worked on Laila. Chris smiled proudly and pulled Parker closer to see her new sister "what do you think sweetheart?"

Mira sighed softly "not been the best of days." She admitted and pecked his lips "Nimu is suspended from school for fighting a girl and giving her a bloody nose..." She said stressed and rubbed her temple "she won't say why to me...maybe you can find out...im so damn frustrated..."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jace still didn't like this whole councillor idea, but he couldn't deny that it was helping. So he nodded, gripping the book in his hand as they walked into the room and sat at the couch together. He too, was wondering why Mai was supposed to be in this meeting with him. That hadn't been required before now… so why the change? He looked up nervously as the doctor entered, trying to look normal and at ease. "Hello doctor." he said softly.

Lilly had been thrilled to see her mother, and had immediately run to her, hugging her tight and marvelling at how much bigger her stomach had grown since the last time she saw it. So she was careful to be gentle. As they sat in the car on the ride to the hospital, she bit her lip and was silent, imagining what her father might look like now. She was frightened, to see him. She had seen kids with some scars before, and she was scared of how badly her father had been hurt. "He's ok now… right mum?" She asked softly.

Laila cradled their new baby daughter, panting and exhausted, but so happy to see their new member of the family. "She's beautiful…." She whispered, running her thumb over her cheek.
Parker edged closer, hesitantly looking at the baby girl in surprise and wonder. "Why is she so blue?" She asked.
Laila smiled gently. "She's been in the dark for a long time love… don't worry, once she's dried off and cleaned, she'll be regular baby colour." She assured, happy that Parker was interested and not disgusted.

Antony's guts sank and he swallowed, hating to hear that their little girl was having a hard time in school. He knew there had to be a reason for it. He would try to find out what it was. "I'll talk to her." he promised, pulling Mira into his arms and rubbing her shoulder gently. "Try to take a deep breath and focus on what we have to be thankful for…" he whispered, kissing her hair. "Today was rough for me too, and I'm trying to see the bright sides to life." he admitted, swallowing. he didn't want her to feel so down.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Greg smiled at Jace "Jace, great to see you again! How have you been doing? Following the protocol alright?" he took the book and flipped through the pages and nodded glad to see them filled "Good, good...so we are on the next steps. This is why Mai needs to be here, do you talk to her about what happened to you?" Mai bit her lip looking down knowing not to say anything but they had sex to avoid talking about it...a lot of sex.

Delaney sharply inhaled as her daughter squeezed her cramping swollen stomach. She pat her back and kissed her head "I've missed you Lilly bug." she said softly and leaned down to look into her eyes "Lilly, your dad is very hurt...we don't know when he is going to get better but he isn't going to die ok? But he...doesn't look like your dad anymore...but he still loves you and we just need to be there ok?"

Chris smiled amazed at how many questions Parker had, and good questions at that. She was really interested "Maybe one day you'll be a baby doctor Parker!" he helped the nurse clean and dress the baby "What should we name her Lailia?" he asked bouncing the sweet baby who finally stopped crying.

Mira sighed and hugged him tightly glad to have his support "Thank you...I am trying and I'm sorry that you had a rough day honey...Want to come home and make love till we pass out? Because I need something to distract me from my crappy day and so do you."

message 3685: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jace smiled politely when he greeted him and he nodded, handing over the book, still tense at the idea of someone even opening the pages. But the doctor didn't read it, he just flipped through. "Yeah, I've been writing in the thing." he said simply, knowing the doctor already saw that. And then that little bit of confidence in him shrivelled in panic. Talked to Mai about it? Of course not! He didn't want to put that much stress on her. Not to mention he didn't actually want to talk to anyone about it. Writing had been painful enough. "Uh… no…" he said softly. "I don't." No point in lying about that.

Lilly looked up at her mother, worried, and yet determined to see her father, so she listened. Her father was hurt. Not dying, but hurt. And apparently he didn't even look like her father anymore. Panic surged through Lilly, and her expression grew more grim as she thought about that. She was nervous, but she just wanted to see her dad. So she nodded bravely and tired to square her shoulders as best as she could. "Ok. I still love him. I want to see him. I want to make sure he knows I love him." She said as bravely as she could.

Parker beamed, thrilled that she was doing something right, and that her father was proud of her. She watched in interest as the baby got cleaned and dressed and then sat at the colouring table with the nurse again, when she decided her parents needed some time alone.
Laila looked over at the sweet little girl and she smiled tiredly. Parker was such a fun tomboyish name, she almost felt they should name her something sweet to compliment it. "Something elegant…" She said softly, closing her eyes as she rested her cheek against the side of the tub. "Like Evelynn. Or Kataryna, or Rosilea. You know?"

Antony nodded, kissing her cheek again, just holding her. He was glad to have his love. For it had been a hard day for him too, what with the whole thing with Brandon, and everyone panicking, and him having to leave his family to come back to the life he had said he was done with. He nodded, standing and wrapping an arm around her waist. "I totally agree to that plan."

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Greg nodded and grabbed his prescription pad, he scribbled down some things and handed him the paper "Get used to celibacy then, until you two talk about it deeply you don't get to have sex or even make-out. You are using sex as a blocker, you don't have to talk when you are in the bedroom all day. So...it's up to you. Talk or no sex, or marriage proposals." he knew about the ring Jace had, talking week after week he knew he was thinking about proposing. Mai looked at him surprised not knowing he was even thinking about that.

Delaney nodded and hugged her tightly as they walked into the room, she gave a small smile glad to see him awake and doing better "Hey handsome guy..." she stroke his hair back "Your girl is here..." she motioned her over to his side that he could see. She knew they were both scared but love would prevail right? She sat down her pain getting worse, she breathed through the cramping quietly not wanting to be the center of attention.

Chris smiled softly picking her up out of the tub and getting dressed as she tucked her into the bed and kissed her lips tenderly "I love any of those, you choose ok? I'm just glad you both are ok!" he said softly and nipped her neck as he handed her the wrapped up bundle "She looks more like you, Parker got my looks glad we have a girl that looks just like his gorgeous wife."

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jace's shocked expression darkened into hurt, and then annoyance. No… something more like anger. He had trusted Greg, even come to view him as a friend, even if their meetings had been some what sheltered as he guarded his answers, but now, he had given him an ultimatum. A muscle in Jace's jaw jumped. He could either hurt his love by scarring her with his stories, or he could hurt her by staying away from her completely. They weren't even allowed the promise of marriage. Jace was tense, and he listened to the crumpling of paper as he clenched the prescription in one hand. No way… no way was he going through with this. This was stupid! He stood and headed for the door, not about to stay any longer.

Brandon was awake and in the middle of snacking on lunch when the girls came in and he immediately swallowed and put the fork down, reaching out his hand to squeeze Delaney's. "How's my two favourite girls?" he asked, still too weak to talk much louder than a whisper, but getting better every day.
Lilly slowly walked up to her father's bed, just staring for a few seconds, enough so that Brandon started to get nervous. "Hey baby girl… pretty gruesome, huh?" he asked softly. Lilly hopped up onto the bed in response, curling up under his arm with her face tucked against him. "Daddy you're a pirate!"
Brandon chuckled, glad she wasn't too scarred. "I am, aren't I? Maybe I should get an eyepatch. Arrr." he said, tickling her.
Lilly giggled, but the sound was broken.
Brandon immediately hugged her, kissing her hair. "Oh baby… don't cry for me… you Dad's gonna be ok." he promised, rubbing her back gently. He looked over at his love then. "Delaney… are you all right?" he asked, ever worried about her and the child.

Laila tucked the blankets up to her chin, just resting and enjoying the feeling of being dry and lighter again. "I like the name Kataryn." she said honestly. "We could call her Kate for short." She rested her head against him as she looked down at their little baby girl. "She's got your spirit though, mister. You should have felt how much she kicked all those months…" She said, a light smile curling up on her features as she remembered how happy their baby had been to hear her father again.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Mai ran after him she remembered her ultimatum those many months ago "walk out that door and we are through Jason!" She said tears streaming down her face "you promised you would follow everything the doctor said! You promised you would try and get better..." She was so tired from all of this but they were so close! Now he was throwing it all away? That hurt her worse then not being intimate with him, she wanted a relationship where they could talk openly and trust each other.

Delaney looked up watching the two of them, she was grateful to see that Lilly wasn't scared of him they still had that daddy, daughter relationship that was strong even the first day they met. She winced feeling the pressure increase "Lilly...go and find Grace and an OBGYN..." She said strained, she was terrified she didn't want to give birth alone without Brandon she wanted him to be there and wished the baby could just wait a little longer!

Chris smiled tickling her cheek gently with the tip of his finger "I like Kate..." He said honestly and pecked her hair "Mmm hope she stays out of trouble unlike her old man..." He was so grateful to be home with his family, even without his leg he was happy. He pulled her against his chest and snuggled close "Hows your pain? Need me to get the nurse?"

message 3689: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jace froze, the anger on his face dissipating into deep sorrow. He turned and glanced at her, "I'm just going to the washroom." He said softly, clearly hurt that she would even think of something so serious. Of course he would try to get better. But he was trying to protect her for her own sake, and now she was saying she would leave him? He went to the washroom only for a few minutes, to pace and vent and damage his knuckles on the wall a bit. Then he composed himself and came back in, his face blank as he sat down, his hands in his pockets. She was right. He wasn't happy about this. But he wasn't leaving her either.

Brandon immediately frowned, not liking that she was asking for the nurses and still hadn't answered him. That must mean that she was hiding something that was seriously wrong with her. Immediately worried, he watched as Lilly nodded and hopped off his bed, running to go find Grace and the other nurses. He watched Delaney for a moment more before his eyes widened. "Love… are you going into labour!?" he asked, shocked and immediately scared. He wanted to be there for her! And yet here he was bedridden and hardly able to talk at a regular volume… He felt useless.

Laila smiled lightly, tucking her face into his chest and just breathing, still not completely believing that he was home. He was back and right here, and he felt and smelled just as comforting as ever. She laced her fingers through his and allowed herself to relax for the first time in a long time. "I'm not too bad. Stitches aren't all that comfortable…. but I'm just happy that's all done with, and we have a happy healthy baby… and that you're here again. I could never be a single parent long term, Chris. I nearly had a break down over little things twenty four seven." She said honestly, smiling against him. "Just so you know, your presence is greatly appreciated."

I only say those things so you have a reason to keep going!"

Delanry groaned and nodded grasping onto his hand and squeezing tightly "yeah...they aren't waiting..." She saw Grace and a female doctor run in after her daughter "I want to do it here...so Brandon can be with me..." She breathed out crying out as she bent forward her jeans soaked.

Chris smiled "well I freaked out everyday hoping you and Parker were ok...I hated not being able to talk to you after I got your letters. I was so grateful for the pictures and drawings. Parker is becoming so smart and accomplished! Think she is going to want to be a doctor?"

message 3691: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jace immediately felt warmth and relief flood him. At least there was hope. If he could ever make it celibate through the time it would take him to work up the nerve to talk to her. That wouldn't come easy. "I love you too, Mai. And I don't want to subject you to the pain I've gone through." he admitted softly, his face wrinkling up in pain. "I don't want you to bear the weight of what happened… it's not a happy story." he admitted, aware that the doctor was still in the room and listening. But it didn't matter, he wanted her to know. He wanted that understanding between them.

Brandon tried to sit up best as he could but didn't really get anywhere, his eyes wide and panicked as he squeezed her hand and held Lilly with the other arm. The nurses helped change Delaney out of her clothes and get her laid back on a bed beside him and hooked up to an IV and a monitor as they positioned her for birth. "Deep breaths honey." One of them said, smiling encouragingly at her. "You're already started labor, it won't be too much longer." She promised.

Laila smiled, liking to hear about how he found the time, and his thoughts and feelings. She liked to know how her love was doing, and she smiled at his comment about Parker. "She is becoming quite successful." She agreed, thinking about their daughter's puzzles and good grades in math. "She's very smart… definitely smart enough to be a doctor… and she sure seemed interested in the profession." She pointed out. "I don't know… she might get to biology in high school and love it, or hate it. I suppose we'll see…"

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Mai hugged him tightly and shook her head "Hey...Hey...I've read the journals Jace...when you go to bed I read them. I hurt for you and I hurt thinking that you were suffering alone. You can talk to me, I'm emotionally stable, I won't take it upon myself. I already have 75% of my body burnt away...I'm ok, I just want you to be ok...I want you to trust that I won't leave when you tell me. I don't think you are broken, you are strong and I love you more then anything..."

Delaney cried out her hand clamping tightly onto Brandon's as she shook her head "I can't...I can't!" she screamed not one to be good with pain. She sat up and started to push feeling her entire abdoman ripping. She didn't really want her daughter to see her like this but having her entire family there was miraculous "Lilly...look away..."

Chris chuckled lightly and smiled playing with her hair and down her cheek "I hate to say it but she's a lot like her old man!" he smiled at Kate "I bet she'll be a momma's girl...she looks just like you and she'll be quiet until you get to know her and then you won't get her to shut up!" he teased and nipped her "She's so pretty..."

message 3693: by Lara (new)

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jace was surprised by that, a little bit upset that she had read them without telling him or asking, but mostly just relieved. Because she knew what he had gone through, and telling her how he felt about it would be easier if she already knew what had happened. "I love you." he whispered, hugging her tight, drawing comfort from knowing that there was someone there for him. "Let's go home… I don't think the doctor has anything else to tell us…" he glanced over at Greg. "Right?" he didn't want to be in that office any more, he wanted to be at home with his love.

Brandon winced when she gripped his hand but he let her hold it, shaking his head weakly. "You can… I know you can love." he whispered. He hated seeing her so in pain, and hearing her crying. It killed him, and being weak already, it was really putting stress on his heart. But he was staying strong for her, and holding a curled up Lilly who was already hiding her face even before her mother had told her to look away. She didn't want to watch, and had stopped watching when the nurses started taking off her mother's clothing.

Laila's smile turned indigent and she elbowed him lightly, laughing softly. "So I talk that much, huh?" she asked, catching his lips for a quick kiss. "She is quite the beautiful baby…" She agreed. "We make pretty handsome kids…" She winked at him. "No thanks to me… but I'm glad they at least get your good looks, good lookin'." she grinned, leaning her head against him again. She was still tired from all the excitement and work.

Complete the week without problem and you'll be free to do whatever."

Delaney was grateful as the medications slowly started to work, she stopped screaming and was more relaxed as she pushed holding onto Brandon for support. She was so grateful that he would be witnessing this with her that she wasn't alone. She lay back exhausted feeling like nothing was happening. She watched Grace as she panted "can you see it?"

Chris stroke her hair and smirked as he kissed her lovingly "we do, because both of us are abnormally attractive. It's true, and Kate got no looks from me they look like their gorgeous mana! No boinging your awesomeness!" He made a bouncing ball motion off of her as he said it and tucked the blanket around her more securely "hungry, thirsty?"

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jace swallowed. An hour!? Every day!? He had expected that it just had to be short… one time… and then he was done. He was so screwed… no way would he be able to survive that long! He knew he wouldn't be able to talk to Mai tonight, so already that was at least one day longer… and who knew how long it would take to work his courage up? He'd probably be insane by the end of this. But he had promised to try, and try he would. "Right. See you on Friday then." he said, smiling rather tiredly and standing to head to the door. He looked like a man about to get his head cut off.

Brandon relaxed a little more when Delaney stopped screaming, but the look of fear on his face remained as she continued to work. Grace was calmly helping Delaney through the labour, instructing the other nurses on how to help, and prepare for the child. "I can, Delaney, I can see it. It's almost here… you're almost done… keep breathing. One more push." She encouraged, ready to take the baby and clean it up when it came out. "So close…" she coaxed. Brandon was tense with anticipation, waiting to see his little baby, and hold it for the first time.

Laila laughed, the tension from the earlier labour completely gone as she joked and spent time with her husband. "All right… all right." she caved. "We're both devilishly handsome, and we make wonderful kids." She said, pecking his cheek. "I'm a little thirsty, to be honest… but not really eager to get up just yet." She said honestly. She was tired, dead beat. She hadn't slept for a few days, and the labour had been longer than her first and second. "I'm pooped." She smiled up at Chris sheepishly, knowing that that sounded childish, but she had said it anyways, just for the fun of it, and just because she could.

McKensie (that-one-girl) | 5564 comments Mai sighed feeling drained, it was hard to keep his moral up and her own. He didn't understand everything she did for him. He never would understand how much she loved him. She drove them to a little side park that never had many visitors and tugged him to the swings "Come on, let's start the first day...I know you will try every excuse to avoid this so, lets do this. Rip off the bandaid."

Delaney moaned leaning back into the pillow and pushing her eyes closed as she cried out, her cries got overpowered by the cry of the child. The boy was fairly large, 9 pounds and very chubby and sweet. She laughed feeling accomplished and exhausted straining to see the baby "Brand...it's a boy...it's a boy!"

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Jace looked around the park, equally parts frightened and annoyed that she was trying to get him to go through with this right away. He didn't want this! He didn't want this for their relationship, this constant pushing and balking, and more pushing, and more balking. He reached over and squeezed her hand. "Mai…" he said softly, the concern clear in his eyes. "I know you want me to get better… I want it too… but you're taking this on yourself too much. I appreciate that you're trying to help me, and honestly, I'd be lost without you, but this isn't what I want for us. You're wearing yourself out over me, and it's killing me to watch. I'm trying so hard, mainly so that you'll get a break after this is all done and through with… but please… its getting to be too much, and it would save me from greying at twenty five if you didn't feel like you had to take this all on yourself." he said honestly, almost pleading. "In the end… if I take longer to heal, it'll be me that suffers that consequence until I'm healed. I'm ok with that. I just don't want to see you hurt with me."

Grace scooped up the child and beamed, laying him in Delaney's arms. "Yes, a beautiful little son." She said softly, always so happy to see new life come into the world like that. It was the sweetest thing, and a miracle to watch.
Brandon had tears in his one good eye as he looked down at their son… their very own son. "Delaney… you're wonderful… my goodness… I'm at lost for words…" he choked out a laugh, as if surprised at that. "Lilly, come see your new little brother."

She said frustrated, not really trying to be cruel to him it was just so much "im pregnant...im scared to death of bearing a child amongst all this. That's why I push and I cry, im not trying to put all of it upon myself but...this is a baby, and I...I can't take care of you both..,what if you have an anxiety attack while holding them? Or your playing on the playground and they trip and cut their leg the blood reminding you...I know your triggers, I know everything. The nightmares and locking yourself in the bathroom. You want me not to hurt? Take away that worry...push yourself to speak and heal...you may deal with the consequences but it doesn't end my suffering either..."

Delaney cradled the red and blue crying bundle feeling overwhelmed and joyful as she helped Brandon carry him. She smiled at Lilly and pulled her in her arns "what do you think we should name him?"
