I read multiple books/ebooks/audiobooks at a time, so if one story grips me more than the other or is more convenient I'll prioritize it, otherwise there isn't any real formula.

.

Favorite: Address Unknown by Kathrine Kressmann Taylor
Least Favorite: Half Broke by Ginger Gaffney

Too many books.

QOTD: In celebration of Black History Month, what are some of your favorite books that feature Black talent, creators, and voices, that you'd recommend to readers to enjoy this month and all year round?

There are so many on my TBR that I'm very excited to get to, but here are some that I've read and really enjoyed:
All Boys Aren't Blue by George M. Johnson. This has recently been banned in 12 states I think, which is crazy to me. It's a great memoir and I highly recommend the audiobook, since the author narrates it. It's a raw, honest, and beautiful memoir that really packs a punch. While this book was hard to read at times, it is a powerful and important story. This one would be great for YA or adult, but it's targeted more for YA.
From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home by Tembi Locke. This was a beautiful story of how life can be unexpected, how to heal from loss, the importance of family, and to fully embrace love and life to its fullest. This one is targeted to adults.
For a YA fantasy, I'd recommend Legendborn by Tracy Deonn. This is a King Arthur reimagining that deals with a unique magic system and secret society.
For a graphic novel, I'd recommend Bingo Love by Tee Franklin. It's a touching story of love, family, and resiliency that spans over 60 years.
For a children's book, I'd recommend Just Like Me by Vanessa Brantley-Newton. The author is super sweet. It's an ode to the girl with scrapes on her knees and flowers in her hair, and every girl in between. It features bright portraits in Vanessa's signature style of vibrant colors and unique patterns and fabrics, this book invites readers to find themselves and each other within its pages. It's a great one for young readers to pick up or have read to them.

How the Word is Passed by Clint Smith.
Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates
The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin
Fiction:
The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Dare
The Water Dancer by Ta-Nehisi Coates
Mystery:
Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby

The Burning duology by Evan Winter
QOTD: Many people use reading as a form of escape or as a way to practice self-care. How do you practice self-care?

I'm excited for:
The Violence by Delilah S. Dawson
House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J. Maas
Dead Silence by S. A. Barnes
A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross
League of Liars by Astrid Scholte
The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen
These Deadly Games by Diana Urban
Delilah Green Doesn't Care by Ashley Herring Blake
Cherish Farrah by Bethany C. Morrow
Not the Witch You Wed by April Asher
A Lullaby for Witches by Hester Fox
Extasia by Claire Legrand
Only A Monster by Vanessa Len
QOTD: Today is National Pizza Day, what's your favorite pizza? Is there a book or a movie/tv show that features pizza or makes you want pizza?

Anytime I watch the tv show, Friends, I want to order in a pizza. I guess it just gives off those cozy vibes.

I usually have 5 or 6 books checked out.
QOTD: Favorite biography or memoir? If you haven't read any that you've loved, are there any on your TBR?

Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates
84. Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff

- My Friend Dahmer by Derf Backderf
QOTD: What book have you read that has hilarious banter and/or what book have you read that has emotionally ruined you?

A book with good banter is The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams. If you don't read romance, then it's probably not for you.

I, personally, don't like ambiguous endings. I don't need a "happy ever after" but I need some form of closure. Unclear endings just aren't it for me.

Oh boy. Its been a while ago now, maybe fourth grade, a few girls were passing around and group reading a book called Wait Till Helen Comes, I read it, and it gave me such a scare I never read another ghost story again lol! I actively stay away from horror because I'm a scaredy cat lol

Yes. Dracula by Bram Stoker. It has been 20 years, but I still remember seeing Dracula in every shadow. Time for a reread. ....no nightmares.
QOTD: What are you currently watching? (This can be movies/tv shows you have checked out from the library, Hoopla, Kanopy, or what you've been watching on Netflix, Hulu, etc.)
