We can definitely have more than one book planned for each color. We'll just apply the first one finished. That way we all have a little push to keep up our reading speed.

I know I would love to finish 4-5 books this week :)

Is the author female? Yes

Raquel (Silver Valkyrie Reads) My book is the only down for green, and I still have over 500 pages left, so someone else is welcome to read for the that spot. (I didn't realize how quickly we were going to move through buckets!)

bamaace83 | 47 comments I just finished this book.

Book: The Sun Is Also a Star Movie Tie-In Edition by Nicola Yoon

Author: Nicola Yoon

Pages: 384

Date Read: 6-10-19

It should count for the green cover.

bamaace83 | 47 comments I loved Beartown! It was really good. You'll have to tell me what you think about it. I binge read the second book in the series this past weekend because I needed to know what happened with all the characters.

message 305: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa | 282 comments I finished

Gwendy's Button Box by Stephen King

for yellow cover.

message 306: by Marta (new)

Marta (gezemice) | 859 comments I have just finished Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones. About 160 pages (converted from audio). It does have a lot of sport examples in it, and while it is not a sports book, I would say the sport examples are pretty important. Baseball, basketball, swimming, running, bicycling are a few that are mentioned.

message 307: by Rachel (new)

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 3266 comments I read 149 pages today to finish off Empire of Storms, and also did that My Favourite Things activity.

To be honest, I've completely lost track of where we stand in terms of buckets. If we need anything specific in the next few days, let me know and I'll try. I have quite a few library books stacked.

message 308: by Andrea (last edited Jun 10, 2019 09:21PM) (new)

Andrea | 456 comments I finished The Flight Portfolio by Julie Orringer today. I do not think that it will help to meet the current bucket qualifications except for page count. I have noted the page count on the spreadsheet and in my progress note (message 33.)

message 309: by Tia (new)

Tia | 128 comments Hi Team, am just back from a weekend trip. Very impressed with our team's progress so far!
I have read 112 pages since my last update and completed the Antonyms and Synonyms game. I have also updated the team spreadsheet. Will try to finish my book (A Pelican at Blandings) today.

I'm a little on the fence with the color of the Empire of Storms cover. Does it look blue enough?

I will definitely be finishing The Craftsman today for the 6th page prompt.

We still need:
- Orange
-Blue
- Purple
- 6th page of TBR

I have a book for purple but someone else might beat me to it.

Marta, unfortunately we're not quite ready for the sport prompt so we will need a different book for that.

message 311: by Tia (new)

Tia | 128 comments I can finish my book today for the blue cover.

message 312: by Khristina (new)

Khristina (readingreckless) | 33 comments Commonwealth - Would this work for Orange?

message 313: by dalex (last edited Jun 11, 2019 05:28AM) (new)

dalex (912dalex) | 2646 comments I finished reading Under the Udala Trees yesterday. It would work for an orange cover.

Under the Udala Trees by Chinelo Okparanta

message 314: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) I can do a purple cover if noone else does.

message 315: by CM (new)

CM We've got another question under the games section.

message 316: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) I have done the books adaption game

message 317: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 697 comments I also did the Guess the Movie Adaptation, will add it to the spreadsheet when I get home.

message 318: by Debra (new)

Debra Barstad did the movie game and posted on spreadsheet

message 319: by Perri (new)

Perri | 886 comments I humiliated myself with my lack of movie knowledge Guess the Adaptation Game and added to spreadsheet. The things I do for my team! :)

message 320: by CM (new)

CM Is anyone currently working on the page 6 of the TBR one? If not I could pause my current book and work on it.

message 321: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) I think Laura is working on that.

message 322: by Katie (new)

Katie | 2360 comments For anyone who felt stumped by the movie game, I added a note
on that post that linked to Bookstr, where the game came from. They included multiple choice options for each movie, if that might make it more fun for people. But of course, you aren't required to get all the answers to count toward playing the game.

message 323: by CM (new)

CM Devin wrote: "Candie wrote: "We've got another question under the games section."

You want to ask if she's currently alive? I'm being completely unimaginative and following the pattern we used last time lol"

I'm good with that question. The list one was good too. It really helped narrow it down last time. Only if it's on it though I guess.

message 324: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 215 comments I'm good with the alive or deceased question as well

message 325: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) I think either the list question or the dead/alive question is a good start.

Raquel (Silver Valkyrie Reads) Personally, I'd save the list question for later in the guessing, after we find out if it makes a lot of sense. When we guessed it the first time we knew we had a dead European guy, so the list seemed very plausible.

I do like the 'is the author alive' question, and I think some of the other questions we asked, like narrowing down which letter the name might start with, and time period, worked really well.

message 327: by CM (new)

CM Yes I think the question if she is alive on not is a good one.

message 328: by Katie (new)

Katie | 2360 comments Everyone seems to be in support of that question, so I'm going to take this as consensus.

Is the author alive? YES

message 329: by dalex (new)

dalex (912dalex) | 2646 comments Someone should go spy on the other groups to see what questions they're asking to guess their authors. Haha.

message 330: by [deleted user] (new)

I'd go with:

Is the author American? or European?

Does the author's surname being with a letter A-M?

Was the author born after 1970?

CM Lori wrote: "I'd go with:

I think one of those questions would be good.

Is the author American? or European?

Does the author's surname being with a letter A-M?

Perri | 886 comments dalex wrote: "Someone should go spy on the other groups to see what questions they're asking to guess their authors. Haha."

I'm on it. (taking off my butterfly and ladybug disguise) Mostly the same questions. One about if the author writes novels , which was one of our possibilities, and one about being Caucasian, There was a 1001 books which might have been stolen from us! haha

message 333: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) I feel we should narrow it down by surname first, then birth year.

message 334: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) I just did the Synonyms and Antonyms game

message 335: by AnnaNeverLands (new)

AnnaNeverLands | 15 comments Today I read:
- 288 pages of The Prince and the Dressmaker

-118 pages of The Sun Is Also a Star (Counts towards a book with an epilogue)

-96 pages of The Wicked King (Count towards book with blue cover)

message 336: by AnnaNeverLands (new)

AnnaNeverLands | 15 comments Just did the Guess the Movie Adaptation Challenge, A Few of My Favorite Things and Synonyms and Antonyms

message 337: by Hilde (new)

Hilde (hilded) | 821 comments I also (finally) did all the games! Will head over to the spreadsheet to update now.

And I am very sorry, but I have lost track - which bucket are we on now?

message 339: by Debra (new)

Debra Barstad Finished Baby dear by Linda Huber for the blue cover book 240 pages

I agree. As I was struggling with keeping straight which questions in the spreadhseet were for author 2, I added a tab with questions (and my apologies if I didn't get all the QA correct) just in case anyone else is having the same problem.

Ok, I think I got it, working on Bucket 8.

message 342: by Laura, Celestial Sphere Mod (new)

Laura | 3780 comments Mod
Just an FYI, we stole the 1001 list from another group first 😂

But I'm working on the page 6 prompt and am finishing up my book.

So we have that and the purple cover left for bucket 8.

Like I said, I have a purple book but since I wouldn't be starting until later tonight, someone else will likely beat me.

Just a heads up, I am in the process of adding new buckets to each team.

message 344: by Debra (new)

Debra Barstad I'm working on the purple cover book I should be done in about 2 hours or less To Mend a Broken Heart by Myunique C. Green at 60% now

message 345: by Rachel (new)

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 3266 comments I can do a blue cover if no one else grabbed it already. I'm about to start Men Explain Things to Me and my copy has a blue cover. It's definitely more blue than Empire of Storms.

message 346: by Debra (new)

Debra Barstad finished To Mend a Broken Heart by Myunique C. Green for the purple cover 144 pages

The blue cover has been done

I just finished The Craftsman so we're now ready to move on to bucket 9!

That means we need:

- 2 books that span several years
- A book in which a sport/game is important to the story

I put off dinner to finish my book but I can check my stack after I eat :)

Ok, great. I was about to offer a purple cover instead, but I see that's been done too. Guess I need to be quicker than that, lol.
