So we have a deceased male European author who was born in the 1900s with a surname that begins with a letter from A-M
We're now at bucket 6! Go team :)
No pressure but team butterfly has guessed their author. We could still pull ahead if we can beat them on our buckets so I say we still buckle down and give them a run for their money

I have input the books in the main tracking. If you finished a book after Devin's let please check to see if it counts for a category in bucket 6 (published in summer or discovered during the read-a-thon)

Here's what we have so far:
European Deceased Male, born before 1950
Last name beginning with A-M
Published more than 10 books

Not George Orwell (surname starts with A-M)Some other options are Samuel Beckett, Kingsley Amis, Anthony Burgess, Martin Amis.
I have about 100 pages left of Interview with the Vampire. Hope to finish today or tomorrow, but can wait if needed. It was first published May 1976 and no J UN E characters, so no help there. But if Vampires work for "Frankenstein Day" we can use it as a quirky holiday. Or my copy has a sun on it for Bucket 10 Celestial Body
I didn’t finish Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine in time for Bucket 5 (and it doesn’t fit for Bucket 6). But I can have it finished in time for Bucket 7’s “Quirky Holiday” prompt — July 11 is Cheer Up the Lonely Day
We still have 3 questions. Some ideas that were suggested:“Did he die before/after (insert date here)?”
“Was he know for writing (insert genre here [fiction/children/poetry/thriller])?”
“Did he win (insert literary prize here)?”
Should we see if he has a book in the 1001 books to read before you die (or another list) to see if we can find a list to go through?
I read 140 page today, and completed the Synonyms and Antonyms game. Hoping to finish off Empire of Storms early tomorrow and squeeze in something else afterwards.

This was the first Peter Heller book that I have ever read and I really liked his writing style and I am a nature lover so I really enjoyed this book.

Thanks Candie, also a nature lover and know I like his style. Entered the give-away :)
I finished Cursed: The Complete Series for another 400 pages. Not sure if it would fit the purple cover, but there is some purple on it.
I just read the las 250 pages of A Court of Wings and Ruin and it can count towards the page count and book with a green cover
If we still need a second quirky holiday book when we get to that bucket I can read Gone Rogue for space exploration day. I also found a couple of short-but-still-over-100-page books from page 6 of my TBR in case we need a back up there. (Submerged and Beloved: A Fairy Tale Retelling of Northanger Abbey in case I forget later...)We might need a back up for 'book with a green cover though' because I'm not reading Wives and Daughters nearly as fast as we're tearing through buckets.
Quick reminder that if you *finish* a book it can only count toward the current bucket we're on. :-) I think we have three questions still to ask, which is probably where we're falling behind the other team--on actually using the questions we have.
I like the idea of the 1001 books list question, narrowing down language and/or country, and narrowing down which letter his name might start with. I'm also fine with the genre question if a couple other people want that one, I'm just not sure how much it helps if the answer is 'classics' or something like that.
Yes, Raquel is right. Be sure to still added finished books to the page count but if you did not discover the book during the read-a-thon then we are still on bucket 6.
We're definitely not behind the teams as far as reading but we need to get on the author :)
Are the above questions officially being asked? They need to be more specific (i.e. which genre, award, name range, etc.)

I would say yes but not sure if the team is for it I know both question have been posted or asked about before
Does the author have a book on the 1001 books list? YESDoes the author's surname begin with letters A-F? YES
I can cover quirky holiday for Interview with the Vampire - I have about 20 pages to finish after work tonight. It can be "Frankenstein Day" or "Son and Daughter Day".I also atarted Things Fall Apart, with an orange cover.
I have it narrowed to 30 I think that meet the criteria.Updated:
Amis, Kingsley
Andrzejewski, Jerzy
Ballard, J.G.
Bassani, Giorgio
Becker, Jurek
Beckett, Samuel
Berger, John
Bernhard, Thomas
Blanchot, Maurice
Böll, Heinrich
Borowski, Tadeusz
Calvino, Italo
Claus, Hugo
Delibes, Miguel
Durrell, Lawrence
Eco, Umberto
Farrell, J.G.
Fleming, Ian
Fowles, John
Frisch, Max
Narrow down the first or last name would work I believe! And once we finish the "discovered during the readathon", I only have the last chapter of Eleanor Oliphant to finish for the quirk holiday slot
Got it down to 30 I think. It is a bit hard to tell if they wrote more than 10 books or what counts as a book. Hope I didn't miss any!!!
I'm going to go ahead and push through the first name question since it's been mentioned by more than one member.
Does his first name begin with A-F? No
That brings it down to:
Amis, Kingsley
Anand, Mulk Raj
Andrzejewski, Jerzy
Ballard, J.G.
Barnes, Julian
Bassani, Giorgio
Becker, Jurek
Beckett, Samuel
Berger, John
Bernhard, Thomas
Blanchot, Maurice
Böll, Heinrich
Borowski, Tadeusz
Bulgakov, Mikhail
Claus, Hugo
de Chirico, Giorgio
Delibes, Miguel
Durrell, Lawrence
Dürrenmatt, Friedrich
Eco, Umberto
Fleming, Ian
Fowles, John
Frisch, Max

I am completely overwhelmed by the entire author game. Sorry, team. I feel like we'd have to ask something like, "Did he ever own a cat named Bambino?" [answer: Mark Twain] in order to narrow this down at all. Ha!
