Read-a-Thon #2 - Team Bumblebee
You can be reading a book for a bucket at any time, you just have to finish the book when we're working on the bucket.
I have now added current reads, as much as possible given the info provided in the comment. Some I did a little extra research. Everyone can feel free to check to see if their info is correct.
The main thing is to just fill in the major gaps. Right now we need:
- A book inspired by a summer holiday (likely that we could use a book to fill one)
- Book on page 6 (I do have The Craftsman for this one but it's not my current read)
- Colored covers - yellow, blue and purple

We can definitely modify it as we go. So if someone finishes a book for the current bucket then we will switch them out and move forward.
Most early books can also count for later buckets so they will just get shifted forward.

I have on deck Maybe You Should Talk to Someone: A Therapist, Her Therapist, and Our Lives Revealed, which is by a woman and published in 2019.
I have 9 books on my TBR. I deleted it in February. No page 6 for me.
Edit: Only 7, lol. I started reading two of them.
Edit 2: I forgot about my audio line-up. I am listening to Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones, and next will be My Beloved World by Sonia Sotomayor, for my IRL book club.

For today I read 125 pages, I'm currently on 66% done with The Peace War (La guerra de la paz)

Edit: Totally forgot to mention, but I read a total of 130 pages today.

Hi All! New Bumblebee here.
If the books I read during the challenge but before I joined count then I read:
The Killings at Badger's Drift by Caroline Graham 265 pages - 128 pages read on 7th June
Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel 224 pages on 7th June

Yesterday I read 216 pages and finished The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek. For buckets this would work for:
Book by a woman
Book published in 2019
Book for the ATY challenge
Book by a new-to-you author
Book with a blue cover
Happy reading team mates! Make it a good day! :)

Not stupid at all, there are lots of threads to keep up with already. :-) Here’s the kickoff post. You just need to answer the questions there and then you can count it as completed.

I'm now starting Främlingen, it has a blue cover. It is over 700 pages but luckily for me the blue cover is in bucket 8 ;)
Edit: I think we earned a new guess, because more then 20 did the kickoff game
Edit 2: with the Secret Garden (Kathy Jo) and The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek (Dalex) we filled bucket 1 so we have another question

Is the author living?
is the author well known?
Has this author's books been made into movies or tv adaptation?
Does the Author live in the United States?
..."
I think the is the author living is a good question. And maybe about where he lives USA/Europe/Asia....

An American Marriage

I’m really liking it so far. I’m at about 100 pages in now and am at the point where it’s about to pick up. I’m just a little worried that it’s going to be similar to A Song of Fire and Ice series (where you fall in love with a series and have to wait years for the next book). It’s still early yet but I feel like I’m going to like this series more than ASOFAI!
With regards to Sugar Run I’m not 100% sure about it. I had seen it in a lot of Most Anticipated lists and bought the ebook when it was on sale for a few dollars. It doesn’t have the greatest rating on Goodreads but I still want to give it a chance 😊
Yes, Lieke is right.
We have 2 more questions.
Do we want to go with Lieke's suggestions?
Is the author living?
We have to ask yes/no questions so would need to decide how to ask where the author is living, in that format.
Good job, team Bumble!

Good job, team Bumble!

I really liked Sugar Run and am surprised at the ratings other readers have been giving it. I thought it had an excellent sense of place, an interesting protagonist, and a compelling story.

It can count for:
- written by a woman
- set in North America
- published in 2019

I also finished Calendar Girls Vol 4. Plug in where needed. Add 421 pages to our total. I don't count pages until the end of the book so if you need pages for a bucket, just message me.

Lieke: are you in Sweden? Got curious as I saw you were diving into the Swedish edition of the Outlander series! Love the TV show, it’s my guilty pleasure. But haven’t read the books yet.
On the reading side, I am making slooow progress on Mrs Dalloway, got in 50 pages yesterday - and they felt like the triple.. It’s rather boring so far, and I’ve yet to be captivated by the writing style. But; I had the same experience with To the Lighthouse, and ended up liking it in the end, so we’ll see.
I am off to a reunion party with my (high school) class soon, I suspect it will be quite the party - 80 people attending, some I haven’t seen in 20 years 🥳 [We don’t use the term high school here, but I think that is the closest I get when trying to translate].
Enjoy your Saturday 😊

No I live in the Netherlands, but I have lived in Sweden. And still go there at least once a year since my parents bought a holiday home there.
Enjoy your reunion!

It's not perfect but I'm sure we can tweak it as we go :)
I've added Bryony's book to bucket 2. We can only count it for one of the options so we can choose which one we want to apply it to once we get some more books done.

Just to confirm. Are these are next two questions?
- Is the author living?
- Is the author American?
- Is the author living?
- Is the author American?

Not sure how to help with planning."
Since I'm not sure where that one is set, I'm going to apply it for decade.
That means we now need a book set in a decade other than the 2010s and a book set somewhere other than North America.
ETA - unless 13 Minutes is set outside N. America. Then it would be better use it for the other continent, I think.

It can count for a book set in Europe.
I finished both of my books that had only 10 pages left
De Celestijnse belofte can count for 1990's
We should have bucket 2 complete now.
So The Boy at the Top of the Mountain can count for paper book.
Edit we where typing at the same time Laura :)
Holly also finished a book calendar girl vol 4

I had just found it when I saw your comment. Updating the spreadsheet now.
We have earned 2 more questions, one for bucket 2 and one for finishing another set of games

I am starting Interview with the Vampire Interview with the Vampire
It is paperback, for ATY, and a new to me author.

This was asked in the introduction topic and the mods answered that it is one question for every 10 games finished. So if 20 people do one game it is 2 questions.

Sarah I loved Homegoing, An American Marriage and Eleanor. so based on that I think I'll add Sugar Run. I have The Name of the Wind on my list, but so intimidated by the length. How are you finding it?
