I just bought a copy of Fahrenheit 451, signed by Ray Bradbury, for a whopping $1.50. It made my day. (found it on the shelf at the local Goodwill store, mixed in with all the other books)
I went to sell 3 smallish boxes of books at Half Price Books and, no surprise, walked out with 3...books, not boxes!

(found it on the shelf at the local Goodwill store, mixed in with all the other books)"Yeah, about three years ago around Halloween I found three signed books back in October of 1989 by Ray Bradbury in an random bin at my local library for $0.10. They were bought brand new at the time of the signing. I did not know they were signed until I bought them home and started to read them. The books were The Martian Chronicles, The Illustrated Man, and Something Wicked This Way Comes.

I always wonder what kind of journey an autographed book must take to end up on a discount shelf like that. Lucky for you and I, though, that they do.
Picked up a couple of books over the last couple of days.Babayaga

This one is funny, I order it from a local bookstore back on May 7th. Kept inquiring and they assured me that its coming. Realised two weeks ago they were waiting for the out of print hard cover. Thanks, Maggie. I keep a list (one of many) of books I'm "looking for" and then, when I'm at a used book store or shopping a sale like this, I can go down my list and see if they have what I'm looking for and if I want to pay that price. Of course, I usually also just browse when I'm at a bricks & mortar store, which generally leads to more purchases and more things to add to my list. There are still about 30 books on that list...

It actually saves me from buying books on a whim. I take a picture or write it down and if it still interests me it goes on the list. Then I keep an eye out for it. Most books never make the cut

My current job - the noble job of sorting trash from waste paper - has landed me the odd sci fi or fantasy title. For books marked with an asterisk, I found a translated - into Dutch - edition.
Bold-printed titles I have already read. What say you of the ones I have not yet read?
Fantasy:
Covenants by Lorna Freeman
Dragonquest* by Anne McCaffrey
Perdido Street Station * by China Miéville
The Book of the Dead* by Tanith Lee
The Diviner by Melanie Rawn
The Illuminatus! Trilogy: The Eye in the Pyramid/The Golden Apple/Leviathan by Robert Shea and Robert A. Wilson
The Opal Deception by Eoin Colfer
Science Fiction:
A Gift from Earth* by Larry Niven
Circuit Breaker by Melinda M. Snodgrass
De dag van Aldebaran by Felix Thijsen
Dune * by Frank Herbert
Makers by Cory Doctorow
The Algebraist by Iain M. Banks
The Gap Into Vision: Forbidden Knowledge by Stephen Donaldson
The Planet Explorer* by Murray Leinster
Wyst: Alastor 1716* by Jack Vance
I did not care for Tanith Lee's The Book of the Dead, but I didn't liked the couple books I've read by that author and so I've avoided any other books.
Stephen Donaldson's SF Gap series made my brain hurt but I'm glad I read them.
I like most of Anne McCaffrey's Pern books (of which Dragonquest is one), and I've also liked the books I've read by Melanie Rawn, although I have not read The Diviner.
Looks like quite a good haul!!
