This is the place to discuss any non-cozy books, be it hardcore mystery, young adult, romance, the classics or whatever other genres you read.

I know, I got so hooked after reading How to Murder a Millionaire, and bought all the books as they came out. At least through #7. Don't know what sidetracked me...

Right now I'm past the halfway point of Untouchable (Cutler, Sutter & Salinas, #3) by Jayne Ann KrentzUntouchable.

Karen M | 1149 comments I'm reading Saturday the Rabbi Went Hungry. This series is so close to a cozy and yet it's not. I'm returning to it finally after many years. I never did read it in any order so I'm just reading the ones I have not read. It's kind of a comfort read for me.

Finished reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Good, but it’s going to take a while to get some of the unsettling images from this book out of my head.

That book was good but one I will definitely never re-read!

Finished The Crucible by Arthur Miller this evening, which was an April book for a classics group here at GR. An okay read. Definitely a dark period in our history (Salem witch trials).

Yesterday before work, I had a bit of time to browse a local used bookshop (not HPB!), and lucked onto a book that has been on my TBB list for several years now, 84, Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff. Having finished the book I was reading, I was able to start it right away, and finished it on the bus home tonight. What a delightful read! It is in letter form, and covers twenty years correspondence between writer Helene Hanff and a bookseller in England. Highly recommend it!
