Hello,I seem to gotten into a bit of a quoting pickle! I started adding some of my quotes, and made a few mistakes. When I realised I couldn't modify the quotes, I added them again, without mistakes, so now I have some good ones and some bad. Finally, I figured out how to associate the quotes with the book they are quoted from, but I don't think I can change the existing quotes to reference the applicable book! :(
What I'd like to do is the following:
I'd like to delete https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/4841... as I created a crazy typo error when formatting the quote!
I'd like to delete https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/4841... as I have rewritten this quote with the correct book reference.
I'd like to delete https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/4837... as I have messed up the formatting..
I'd like to associate all the following quotes with my book, https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
quotes:
I managed to get one quote perfect so far: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/5286... this is precisely how I'd like them all to look :)
Sorry for all the problems, I promise to try harder in the future! ;)

Done, and formatted.
On one of the quotes I added ("band-aids don't fix bullet wounds" Taylor swift) I accidentally added the number 15 in the quote and would like that number to be deleted.

Thank you for fixing and formatting!
Please remove the number 15 from this quote so it should read "Band-aids don't fix bullet holes" Taylor Swift. It currently reads "15Band-aids don't fix bullet holes" Taylor Swift.
I've sent you an e-mail on this, but then, discovered this venue. I apologize for the duplication and any inconvenience. The gist of the problem stems from an error in your book pulldown menu and the fact that two of my novels can be found on the same line.
Specifically, on your site, in the pulldown menu where the book is to be selected for association with a quote, one of the pulldown menu entries contains both House of Cards: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Lilith: Demon of the Night (Louis…..). What happened was, of course, that when I posted two quotes from House of Cards, the names of both books showed up.
I deleted two of the erroneous quotes in Theodore’s Quotes, thinking I could fix the problem (before I discovered the issue with the pulldown menu), and it only compounded the problem in Theodore Jerome Cohen’s Quotes, which cannot (for some strange reason) be deleted. (I thought if I deleted a quote in one place, it would be deleted in the other.)
I am at a total loss to fix anything here, and now, Theodore Jerome Cohen’s Quotes are a total mess.
Would it be possible just to delete all the quotes in Theodore Jerome Cohen’s Quotes except for the same two remaining quotes in Theodore’s Quotes, and we’ll leave it at that until the book pulldown menu is fixed (if ever).
Thanks.

All of the quotes at the above URL should be edited or combined into one or 2; the quote is attributed Philip K. Dick, not 'Anonymous' as in two cases.
Thank you!
Combined the Philip K. Dick reality quotes. There will still be two of them because one is the Quote of the Day and is, therefore, Untouchable.
Hi, I'm sure you can tell that "convinved" here should be "convinced":https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/5099...
Thanks!
Perhaps what I posted on January 11 was too complicated.Would one of the editors be so kind as to delete ALL of the quotes on my page...the quotes in both sections. Best just not to have any at all at this point, given the errors there.
Thanks.

re 269/274, the problem isn't the pull-down menu, the problem is that you changed the titles on one of your book to include both titles in the title field. i have reverted that change, and your quotes should appear to be from a single book now. if you still want me to delete all your quotes, let me know.i noticed you left a few librarian notes on your books. i am sorting through some of them now to figure out what is wrong with your ISBNs. however, i'd strongly suggesting posting a new request in the librarian group next time you have a problem rather than leaving a librarian note. Librarians rarely see those unless they're responding to a request left in this group.
Hi, Z-squared! And thanks for looking in on these problems. I have no idea (!) how one book ended up with two titles, but thanks for fixing the problem. The correct attribution for the two quotes in question is House of Cards: Dead Men Tell No Tales, so the one below should show that book, if you could add it in. And yes, I'd like to leave them.
“So, what are you going to do about it?”
"Watch this!"
"Oh, that’s just freaking great. ‘Watch this!’ The two most dangerous words in the English language. I’m getting out of here before lightning strikes.”
― Theodore Jerome Cohen
There were some quote marks missing from the above, which I added above, as you see. (Two different people are speaking.)
As for the ISBN issue, I saw that. Remind which book is involved and I might be able to help. I suspect the problem may involve a pdf version on Google, but my memory is serving me well at this point.
Thanks, again, for jumping on these problems.
Ted
Ted, I think I've fixed everything. You might double-check that all your quotes are now attributed to the right book. Also fixed the quotation marks in the quote above.
Yes! You've righted the ship. Many thanks. One thing I don't understand is the difference between the two types of quotes. I suspect, but don't know, that one of the classes (Theodore Jerome Cohen's Quotes) are things from, say, my books. The second class, Theodore's Quotes, are things others have said. (???) But when you enter something into the latter class, it comes up as well in the first as well. I'm very confused about the whole thing (obviously).
Also, to revisit the ISBN problem, did you ever sort it out, and again, which book was involved?
Ted
Ohhh I think i know what you're talking about. On your author profile, there are quotes that are attributed to you, and then there are quotes that you can 'like', including from yourself or other people. "Theodore Jerome Cohen's Quotes" are quotes YOU said, and "Theodore's Quotes" are quotes you LIKE.At least, I think that's it. Quotes aren't my forte.
As for ISBNs, there were a couple Nook editions you'd removed the ISBNs from (which is against GR policy), and I reverted those changes. There was one book you'd apparently had trouble making an ebook edition for, but I have no idea why because when I went to add it in with the supposedly recalcitrant ISBN, it went smooth as butter:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
There was also another book I think you re-released with a new cover, then couldn't put the old ISBN on it. Instead, you put in a bogus rearranged/truncated ISBN. I removed that and turned that edition into an alternate-cover edition (ACE) here:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
If you're unfamiliar with ACEs, see here for more info:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
And if you have any more questions for me, please start a new thread, since this one is dedicated only to fixing quotes.
Aaaaaaah yes, the old alternate-cover edition problem LOL. On Frozen in Time, I couldn't use the AuthorHouse cover when I produced my Kindle and EPUB editions (before AuthorHouse had the capability, believe it or not), so I had to create an alternate cover. Then, they came out with their own Kindle version. Big mess!In any event, I'll cut this off here because (1) you've 'unscrewed' the problems, and (2), this is for quotes, as you say.
Thanks so much for restoring my site...and my sanity.
Be well.
Ted
Have a quote here to delete.https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1833...

Gone. Not many one-word quotes are original.
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/8448...This quote is actually by Albert Dietrich, not Albert Camus. See: https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=3...
I don't get the point of a quote like this if no one knows who said it.https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/6223...
Deletion pending on the two non-notables. Someone more familiar with the source may want to merge the fragment with a more complete version of the quote.

Hi everybody,I hope this is the good place to ask for this.
I added a quote but the linking to the book seems to have fail.
The quote is this one
And it should be linked to The Mysterious Island
Thanks

Shame about that. It is a really great quote. Can you confirm that it isn't in any of the other G.R.R.M. books before I delete it?
