Done. Should 'finally' have a capital F?

message 4: by Edie (new)

Edie (auntedie) | 6 comments Thanks! Didn't capitalize F in finally because it is in the middle of the sentence and I didn't include the beginning because it was story specific. If that makes sense.

Also gently is obviously supposed to be gentle. You know, I sent these quotes all day yesterday - typing them into text msgs and emails. Not a single typo. I decide to share with the goodreads peeps and I am all thumbs. I pinky swear promise to triple check before posting quotes in the future.

P.S. READ THE BOOK. EVERYBODY. PLEASE.

Jess Scott (jesscscott) | 6 comments Hi,

I am the author of the following works that were quoted from.

I would like to request that the following two quotes be deleted:

(1) https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1173...

(2) https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1173...

* * *

This quote should be attributed to Brian Robinson, who wrote the poem, and not me (the lines appear in one of my eBooks copyrighted to him, and with his permission):

https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/4533...

* * *

These quotes should be merged, and they should reflect the exact words in the book:

"When someone loves you, the way they talk about you is different. You feel safe and comfortable."

https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/2922...

https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1178...

https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/9984...

Thanks so much for your help!

Moved to Blood Promise. I think that is correct.

Edit: no it isn't. Research, research...

Edit 2: strange. The quote, "Juliet had it easy; she never had to kill Romeo" is referenced on many sites as being in Blood Promise or Last Sacrifice. It isn't in ANY of my ebook editions of the complete series.

I've removed the book attribution but since there are nearly 2000 likes I'll do some more checking. I don't think it is likely to be from the movie since it was added before the movie was even written.

message 13: by Banjomike (last edited Aug 29, 2014 04:40PM) (new)

Banjomike | 5166 comments Ok, it is official. Richelle Mead doesn't think she wrote "Juliet had it easy; she never had to kill Romeo"

Quotes from Richelle Mead (herself!!) on Twitter:

"People keep attributing "Juliet had it easy; she never had to kill Romeo" to Last Sacrifice. Does someone have an actual page number for it?"

"Because I'm not finding it in a Word search of Last Sacrifice or Blood Promise, which seems like a likelier candidate."

"I don't recall writing it. But a gazillion people on the internet have attributed it to me."

"For those who've asked, I've also checked SK (Shadow Kiss) and SB (Spirit Bound). No luck. If you've got a page in a book to reference, I'd love to know about it. :)"

"Sooo, re: the quote I didn't write, it's not on my blog either in any of the Last Sacrifice posts."

I've added the tag "attributed-no-source" while I see if I can identify the true author. Otherwise it gets deleted. Someone will certainly add it again but...

Edit to (ignoring quotations):

"The first mate slid, almost bonelessly, down the wall. Baltsaros shoved his softening cock almost angrily back into his pants; he felt strangely unsatisfied and frustrated. Tom looked up at the captain with wet, red eyes as Baltsaros undid the belt that was looped around him.

What was it about Jon that had him so wound up?"

Delete this quote from Bey Deckard's page (also made by me):

“What do I see? I see a man who has higher and thicker walls than I will ever have. I see a terrifying beast enveloped and hidden by a cleverly fashioned mask. I see tears that will never fall. I see blood and death. I see a heart that devours itself. I see the promise of a pain and deceit. I see a lot of things, Baltsaros. Many of them frightening,' Jon said.

Baltsaros showed no surprise over Jon’s words. Instead, he leaned towards him, intrigued. 'And you’re not afraid,' he said. - Deckard”

#31, this is one of those cases where both quotes should probably stay. The short version is more pithy (and funny) while the longer version, in my opinion, is too long but might appeal to Jane Austen fans.

Don't forget the space in your author name otherwise you won't be able to select a book.

Rana El Ibrik (ranaelibrik) Hi, I just entered this quote but I made a spelling mistake, can someone correct it for me please. I am not able to get the link to the quote either, excuse my ignorance! Here it is:

((The mistake is "placeless" it should be "spaceless" ))

I am also wondering whether or not I can add a book title, because I was only given 3 books choices and the quote was from neither and I couldn't add or select that one; it's Memories, Dreams, Reflections.

Thank you.

“At times I feel as if I am spread out over the landscape and inside things, and am myself living in every tree, in the splashing of the waves, in the clouds and the animals that come and go, in the procession of the seasons. There is nothing in the Tower that has not grown into its own form over the decades, nothing with which I am not linked. Here everything has its history, and mine; here is space for the placeless kingdom of the world's and the psyche's hinterland.”

The primary author of Will Grayson, Will Grayson is John Green so all quotes from that book should be attributed to him and not to David Levithan. The Levithan quotes should be changed to John Green and then combined (NOT deleted). This is mainly because there is no way to attribute to two authors and there is (usually) no way to know who said it. Is that what you are suggesting?

could be. i just thought that they should be differentiated since there actually is a way of knowing which quote is penned by who (all-lowcase passages = levithan's, as told in the book), but maybe that's not the case.

I didn't know that. I'll grab a copy.

message 50: by Banjomike (new)

Banjomike | 5166 comments Hm, it looks like you'd need to know whether the chapter that the quote is from is even- or odd-numbered. John Green wrote the odd-numbered chapters and David Levithan wrote the even-numbered. That could be a pain.

1st combined and fixed format
https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/4257...

Others done, changed attribution, combined etc
