This Mark Twain quote has a tag entitled "jerk." This should be removed?

I have added the below quote mistakenly & put author as Paulo Coelho.it was showing in my quotes.
I deleted it but it is still showing in search under the author Paulo Coelho
Request to delete that quote.
However I added the same quote again with author as "irrfan ishaq
Quote is as :
“Adversity tries you before it tries the rest"
https://www.goodreads.com/search?utf8...

Are these legit quotes? The "author" doesn't seem to have any books.

? "Author" of the quote connected to a book, but the book doesn't seem to have anything to do with the quote.

There are several reasons for this. The most likely is an attempt by a librarian or staff member to remove tag-bombing. Many quotations are added with large numbers of tags which often don't appear to be connected with the specific quotation.
You have a quote with 98 tags which some people would consider excessive.

While few librarians actively hunt for these quotes many of us will remove what we consider to be excessive numbers of tags when we find them.

can you please remove the [b] codes.

Thank you.

The last one is actually correct but I've combined it with:

The 'wut' looks like another random Kindle add so I've removed it.

Removed from Paulo Coelho.
Do you have an author page?

Should be affixed to The Victims' Revolution: The Rise of Identity Studies and the Closing of the Liberal Mind

This can be traced back to C.H. Spurgeon, Gems from Spurgeon (1859). It probably existed before Spurgeon, but here's how he wrote it: "A lie will go round the world while truth is pulling its boots on."

#477 is less obvious because the proof you are offering is essentially an advert for a book of quotes. And it looks to be incomplete (or at least wildly inaccurate) as many of these collections are. For example, on the Amazon page for that book there is the example "Live fast, die young, and leave a good-looking corpse" which is ascribed to Willard Motley in 1947. A very quick check shows that the quotation was in use much earlier in 1920 when Motley was only eleven years old.
When Spurgeon first used "A lie will go round the world while truth is pulling its boots on" in 1855 (not 1859) he himself described it as "an old proverb". That eliminates Spurgeon from contention. If it is a proverb then it will be deleted. The earlier versions by Swift, etc, are very different.
More research is needed but I have removed Twain from the quote and added the famous "misattributed mark twain" tag.

Could someone please look at and merge them if necessary?

Can this be fixed? Here's the original post from my blog that the quote was taken from just so you know I'm the original author.

(It's also attributed to me other places on the internet.)

It comes from The Prague Cemetery. The first word should be capitalized, the colon should be a semicolon, "travelling" is spelled with one 'l' in the English translation of the book, and there should be a period at the end. Thank you. "
Done, although my Houghton Mifflin ebook does have a colon.

It's Wisława, not Wislawa. ł not l. The first person must have written the name without the correct letter and it's just escalated because of the automatic suggestions. I haven't noticed it at first too.
There is a good author page for Wisława Szymborska and there are other quotes. They should be together... Please?

Moved the whole lot to the good page:
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

My paperback says that it should be :
"Thomas Edison's last words were 'It's very beautiful over there'. I don't know where there is, but I know it's somewhere, and I hope it's beautiful.”
Instead of :
"Thomas Edison's last words were 'It's very beautiful over there'. I don't know where there is, but I believe it's somewhere, and I hope it's beautiful.”
Please change 'believe' to 'know'
Thanks! :)

It has too many likes for a common Librarian to edit, it needs the attention of a Super Librarian.

My Penguin ebook has "believe" so that would make the Alaska quote correct. I've added some formatting to highlight the Edison part.
