Judith Post | 30 comments I took a break from mysteries and read Warprize Warprize (Chronicles of the Warlands, #1) by Elizabeth Vaughan by Elizabeth Vaughn. I loved it! A heroine with a big heart and a warlord that has joined my ranks of lust after book boyfriends. Comparing "barbarians" to high courts and their intrigues was a plus for me.

I'm about 1/3 of the way into this book and find the protagonist one of the least likeable ever encountered. I have no empathy for her and find her actions and lifestyle disgusting.
If you've read this book, please weigh in to let me know if she ultimately displays some sense of decency, pride, or compassion for others.
