***after I posted this I noticed the 75% requirement for the setting...and I'm not sure this work qualifies under that....for the following reasons.....I'll leave it to the moderators:
The book has 165 pages...but doesn't begin until p.7.
Pages 7 to 24 are set in Mexico.
Pages 25 to 140 are set in New York City
Pages 117 to 140 are very strange.... they seem to be dream sequences with 10 different scenes, roughly of the same circumstances set in different places in Africa. Now...the main character, while in New York, had just escaped from being a sex slave....and reports that she found a passport and ticket that permitted her to go to Tangiers. So...my argument is that this is most likely NOT reality ...but a set of dreams she experiences in NYC. (To add to the likelihood that this is NOT reality, this teenage, former sex slave, strikes up a friendship with the author Jean Genet in Tangiers and becomes something of a prodigy to him.)
pages 141 to 165 are illustrations and unconnected text.
If one grants that pages 117 to 140 are dreams occurring in NYC...the book meets the 75% threshold.
