Silvana (silvaubrey) | 2791 comments Haha, glad to know there are some MXTX readers here. I want to buy the MDZS one too, but since I watched The Untamed already it is not a priority as of now. Still working my way through the TGCF donghua, got bored halfway but my friend said the book is much better.

Beth, I also know nothing about RZFZX except that it is more comedic...

message 652: by Beth (new)

Beth (rosewoodpip) | 2005 comments I haven't read any of them yet, although I know that unofficial/unlicensed translations have been around for some time. Aside from the TV series that I mentioned, my main exposure to MXTX's work has been at second hand, through fan art on twitter. :)

message 653: by Amy (Other Amy) (new)

Amy (Other Amy) | 175 comments There is SO MUCH great fan art. Some really great artists love MXTX.

message 654: by Al (new)

Al Davidson | 33 comments The second book of Bryce O'Connor's Stormweaver series (Iron Prince was book 1).

message 655: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellehartline) | 3168 comments Michael J. Sullivan's Farilane!

LOL! Don't you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby!!! Don't you put that on us!

message 657: by Meredith (new)

Meredith | 1775 comments Fonda Lee has a prequel novella to the Green Bone Saga coming out in April: The Jade Setter of Janloon.

message 658: by Jeremy (new)

Jeremy (madbaker) The Golden Enclaves, Naomi Novik's Scholomance 3. Due in late September.

message 659: by Aaron (new)

Aaron (baelnic) | 5 comments Locklands and Golden Enclave for me, although I’m not sure I want either to end.

message 660: by Rebecca (last edited Jan 26, 2022 03:21PM) (new)

Rebecca Same Aaron! And I’ll begrudgingly add House of Sky and Breath in the Crescent City series.

message 661: by MadProfessah (new)

MadProfessah (madprofesssah) | 775 comments LOCKLANDS by Robert Jackson Bennett is probably #1 on my list…

message 662: by Ines, Resident Vampire (new)

Ines (imaginary_space) | 424 comments Mod
Don't Fear the Reaper by Stephen Graham Jones will be a sequel to My Heart Is a Chainsaw. I am really curious where he will go with the story, and by now his books are a must read for me anyway.

message 664: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline | 2428 comments There's a new Stephen King coming out. September I think. Fairy Tale. It was Stephen's book Sleeping Beauties that brought me back to reading and I buy every one that comes out.

message 665: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Oh, there is also whatever Tamsyn Muir puts out in the Locked Tomb series - I feel like there are a couple of books and maybe a novella/short story or two on GR but I'm not sure when they all will come out.

message 666: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline | 2428 comments Yeah I saw a thing this morning or last night about the cover reveal for Nona the Ninth being in a couple of days. Can’t wait for that one as well.

message 667: by Beth (last edited Jan 28, 2022 10:27AM) (new)

Beth (rosewoodpip) | 2005 comments The cover has now been revealed!

Nona the Ninth (The Locked Tomb, #3) by Tamsyn Muir

No skull make-up? And is that a six-legged dog?? How intriguing.

Vox has published a short interview with Muir with some very light spoilers for Nona. a search on "vox nona ninth" should have it as a top result.

message 668: by Eva (new)

Eva | 968 comments Love the detail with the faded burger joint t-shirt which further feeds my pet theory about this future! 😎🤐

And yes, definitely a six-legged dog. Thank you so much for the update, Beth! 🤗

Nicci (niccit) | 55 comments Scorpica by Greer/G.R. Macallister
Last Exit by Max Gladstone

My first time reading these authors. Based on reviews, Scorpica is similar to Circe, a book I haven't read yet.

This is the new release I'm most looking forward to too! (I've given up waiting for George RR Martin to finish Winds of Winter!)

message 672: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellehartline) | 3168 comments Fantistic Fiction sent me a terrific email today to write that Megan Whalen Turner is releasing another book in the Queen's Thief series...YAY!!! It's called Moira's Pen: A Queen's Thief Collection and due to be released the end of November.

message 673: by Kandice (new)

Kandice | 271 comments Gwendy's Final Task by Stephen King Gwendy's Final Task (The Button Box, #3) by Stephen King comes out tomorrow!

message 674: by Beth (new)

Beth (rosewoodpip) | 2005 comments One I've recently learned about is Tread of Angels. I'm curious to see what Roanhorse's take on dark fantasy is like (and slightly bummed that it's a novella rather than a novel).

message 675: by Amy (Other Amy) (new)

Amy (Other Amy) | 175 comments Oh, that looks interesting, Beth. I normally nope right out of angel things, but I imagine she'll come at it from a really different perspective. Also like the mining town/prospector/western-ish vibe.

message 676: by Kirsi (new)

Kirsi | 138 comments I recently stumbled across and was blown away by The Wendy and The Navigator by Erin Michelle Sky and Steven Brown. It's a Peter Pan retelling - I absolutely hate the original tale but oh boy oh boy did I ever love this one! I understand the final book of the series is coming out later this year, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

max (sad girl autumn version) (doitsushine92) | 8 comments I'm really looking forward to the final installment of The Dreamer Trilogy! I can't wait to see what's gonna happen

message 679: by Matt (new)

Matt Phillips (jmattphillips) | 37 comments Tamsyn Muir Nona the Ninth The third of a series. I liked the first book, hated the second (first half was boring, second half okay). Still want to see where this is going.

message 681: by Matt (new)

Matt Phillips (jmattphillips) | 37 comments Anthony Ryan 's The Martyr . Rarely do I try to read a book in one setting. I loved the first book The Pariah. Good main character involved in a consistent stream of misadventures, no slow chapters in this story.

message 682: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellehartline) | 3168 comments I've been on the fence about that Anthony Ryan, Matt. I might have to consider it some more ;)

message 683: by D (new)

D | 59 comments Sons of Sol by Kevin McNally (yes, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor!) is supposed to come out in paperback very soon so looking forward to that. Great recommendation from Stephen Fry!

message 684: by Meredith (new)

Meredith | 1775 comments The Mimicking of Known Successes, by Malka Ann Older.

I loved Older's Infomacracy trilogy. Charlie Jane Anders just posted an amazing review of this and I want to read it so much, but it's not coming out until next year. So, I am sharing my excitement (and dismay at the wait) here with you

message 685: by Anna (new)

Anna (vegfic) | 10434 comments Meredith, it sounds so cool! I seem to have added it to my GR in September, on the same day a bunch of others have added it, so it must’ve been featured somewhere?

message 686: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3167 comments I am also an Older fan- thanks for sharing! This does sound cool.

I still need to read State Tectonics I just realized.

message 687: by Anna (new)

Anna (vegfic) | 10434 comments Enclave, a new book by Claire G. Coleman, can't wait!

I've just read this! And now I'm listening on audiobook to pick up what I missed in my first gulping read.

Rachel | 1405 comments I’m also doing this on audiobook right now!! Peter. Now IS Kobna H-S fir me

message 692: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline | 2428 comments After finally getting around to finishing The Girl and the Mountain by Mark Lawrence (I’ve been carrying it everywhere with me for nearly 12 months while I’ve been trying to read it but exhaustion and eyes not working properly and not being able to get into much that is longer than a novella) today I can’t wait for the final part of the trilogy, The Girl and the Moon, which will be out at the end of April.

It totally agree! He's such a great narrator!

message 694: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline | 2428 comments I just saw a story that says that the third book in The Name of the Winds trilogy will be release on 11 July 2022. Apparently Patrick has finished it and it’s on its way.

It's been so long since the second one, that I will have to re-read the first two (and the novella) before I could even contemplate it!

I hadn't bothered with the first 2 and the novella until this one came out. I have them but haven't read them yet.

message 697: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellehartline) | 3168 comments Really, Jacqueline?! It's been so long. But I'll believe it when a copy is in my hands.

Beth (rosewoodpip) | 2005 comments Michelle wrote: "Really, Jacqueline?! It's been so long. But I'll believe it when a copy is in my hands."

I have my doubts about this, too. Wouldn't a book this hugely long-awaited have at least a one-year hype cycle in front of it? ARCs? posts slyly hinting about NDAs?

as he has said that he will tell us when the date will be and there's nothing on his blog or twitter, I doubt it's correct. I couldn't find a single reputable source confirming that, just the click bait ones.
