I found out yesterday, (I love author newsletters 😍) that Robert McCammon has a new book in the HF Matthew Corbett series coming out on Halloween called "Seven Shades of Evil". Yay!!! GR doesn't have it yet or I would've linked. Excellent, excellent series.

I read on Janny Wurts' site last night that the last book in the Wars of Light and Shadow, Song of the Mysteries, will be out in May of 2024. That's so exciting!!! There's no link on GR yet.
Patrick Rothfuss is publishing a new novella about Bast this Fall! I just read it on his blog. Too soon for a GR link.
Looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of Impeccable by Jack Campbell, which will be out in July. Also, I just found out that there's going to be a new novel set in the Whitespace universe by Elizabeth Bear. Out sometime in 2024. The worldbuilding in Whitespace is so well done, I can't wait to read it. :)

and you can pre-order it on Amazon right now in either Kindle or Hardcover. I've already pushed the button.

it's on Goodreads now but you can't find it by searching. It's here:

And that reminds me! @Ryan, did you ever read Suelen yet?"
Yes! When a new Tuyo book comes out I am almost always happy to put down whatever I'm reading for it. I don't rave about Neumeier's work enough.

She's worth raving about :) She's working on a Tuyo World Companion, too, at the moment.
Amal El-Mohtar is going to have four books with Tor. I don't even know what they are about yet, but I'm really looking forward to them.
Michelle, we’ll, I’d better get to reading Tuyo then! I bought it on your recommendation a while ago after all. And Kaa, I just adore Amal Rl Mohtar’s writing. Even her non-fiction is so beautiful and evocative. She is a fabulous poet from a family of poets. I think I’d read a shopping list she wrote.

I hope you enjoy it Diane! If not there's going to be egg on my face for sure :)
I've started Tuyo and really liking it so far. Great characters and an original, fascinating world to immerse oneself in. Haven't come across this author before, so thanks to the discussion here :)

I think if you like one Rachel Neumeier novel you'll like (almost) all of them. I've yet to read anything of hers that I've disliked as they tend to feature the same themes.
Tor announced a new book from P. Djèlí Clark - The Dead Cat Tail Assassins, coming in March 2024. I have really enjoyed everything I’ve read of his, so I’m very excited.I’m also excited for Amal El-Mohtar’s recent 4 book deal with Tor. I’m glad that she will finally have a book of her short stories, which I love, though it looks like the novella will be published first, in Fall 2024.

Starter Villain by John Scalzi has already been mentioned, but I just wanted to note the cover, if anyone was wavering.... [image is a cat wearing a suit with tie]
Sadly, I am waiting for a book that will never come. The next in Vincent Trigili's Lost Tales of Power series. He passed in 2020, so....
I'm really looking forward to the 3rd book in The Divide series by JS Dewes, The 6th Sun Eater book by Christopher Ruocchio, which I believe is titled Disquiet Gods, and the final installment in William Gibson's Jackpot trilogy. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a release date for any of them yet, though

"We are living creatures, just like you, only usually better looking . . ."
Sounds promising. Well, between that and the author it goes on my list too.
Exordia by Seth Dickinson! Absolutely adored the short story it seems to have been expanded out of, looking forward to see how the plot develops.
For those who enjoyed Neom this month, I saw today that Lavie Tidhar has a new book out in September (and it got a starred review in Publisher’s Weekly): The Circumference of the World. It’s not set in the same world as Neom, but it looks interesting.
Courtesy of a post on tor.com featuring upcoming books: The Blue, Beautiful World by Karen Lord. I enjoyed Lord's The Best of All Possible Worlds a couple of years ago (it was also a BOTM here) and am interested in seeing what another will be like.Robin Miles is narrating the audiobook, too. ❤

I just preordered the 2nd book to Legends &Lattes. It is Bookshops & Bonedust. It wont be out until Nov 7 but I am stupid excited about it. Just had to share.
Vampires of El Norte, Isabel Canas* (*insert tilde). I really enjoyed her debut, Hacienda, and I'm eager to read this one once it's out, and the weather turns spooky.https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...
Bookshops and Bonedust the prequel to Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree. I preorder it, so excited. I really enjoyed the the first one.

Also, Holly by Stephen King and The Hexologists by Josiah Bancroft.
Holly Gibney is probably my favourite Stephen King character and The Books of Babel series by Josiah Bancroft came as such a big surprise that I'm really looking forward to what else the man has up his sleeve.
Shaggy wrote: "The doors of stone. It’s crazy how much have we waited"but Rothfuss does have a new book about Bast coming out soon: The Narrow Road Between Desires. I'm looking forward to this one.
Shaggy wrote: "That’s awesome. I have to confess I forgot how to read a book. These days I only read on kindle"I ordered it on Kindle
Shaggy wrote: "Oh didn’t know you could do that. I’ll do that !! Thanks!"I currently have several pre-orders for Kindle books most of which are mysteries from Scandinavian countries.
There are two for which I'm am currently looking forward to, Lolth's Warrior: A Novel (The Way Of The Drow Book 3) By R.A Salvatore. Who is one of my all time favorite author.
Deap Threat Path of the Ranger book 19 by Pedro Urvi.
Both books are by excellent authors and I've read most if not all of their books. If you like fantasy fiction AKA: young adult I truly recommend you check them out.
