Back again. But I really had a great time, and also the weather has been really good and warm, especially considering this time of year!

Yes, so glad you enjoyed it Laura. I hope your daughter's health is improved as well. How are your children doing?

Marta is, for the moment, well. No one can assure us that the splenectomy she underwent now three years ago will be effective for ever. But it's pointless to live with fear. We'll see if and when it will change.
Max has started studying again, and we hope for the best! Thanks for asking

I remember slush well Leslie, and it wasn't my favorite. A good pool of slush can soak a sock in a second flat. :)
Got to do some errands this morning, and then I plan to be lazy this afternoon.

Ha ha, I remember when I was a kid growing up in Illinois, my mother used to put plastic bags over our socks and put rubber bands on the top; then we would put on our shoes, and we would wear rubber galoshes over the shoes. Not sure we were going to wear any fashion contests, but I've got to say it was very effective! We walked several blocks through the snow to school.

After an extremely mild winter, it has decided we haven't had enough snow. More is expected later on this week!
I am ready for spring to arrive and to see the daffodils come up.
Yes indeed!
Has anyone has an Irish apple duff before? I had one on St. Patrick's Day for the first time and it was interesting. It was a whole peeled and cored apple stuffed with raisins inside of a fried flour wrapper. Pretty good!

I hadn't heard of it before either. One of the local small-chain grocery stores here had a deal in their deli with Irish Stew and apple duff for dessert. We picked them up and cooked them at home according to the instructions they gave us. Both were pretty good!

Sort of . . . a whole baked apple stuffed with candied raisins but the whole thing inside a flour crust. Like an apple pie where the apple is whole but with raisins in the center?

Interesting Laurel - I didn't know that!

Thinking exactly the same!!!

I’m checking out the just for fun thread and seeing if I can revive a few topics on there as a tiny antidote to oceans of bad news.

Good Luck!
And I'm getting angrier and angrier with my boss - who really can't understand the easiste things and pretends to wait for some illumination from above - I suppose - before doing anything
