What are you doing right now? Part 2
Yesterday, helped decorate the Christmas trees at church, then came back home and played Minecraft virtually with my niece and nephew in Seattle, making a virtual field of flowers and beehives to harvest honey. After that I started taking down the Thanksgiving decorations but I got too lazy and Ron & I binge watched the new season of Locke & Key instead.
So now, I am boxing them up tonight after work. Darn it. I feel lazy again, but I must exert willpower.
I . . . must . . . finish . . . it.
I really love having the house decorated, but I hate the process of actually doing it . . . and undoing it. It's a short suffering for a longer pleasure though - still worth it. Christmas decorations will go up this weekend, theoretically.

I usually do it on the 8th of december - in Italy holiday - but I'll be driving from Milan, where we are going to fetch Marta for Christmas. So I'll probably postpone it to the following Saturday

Back to work: today and tomorrow at my office, hoping to be free of travelling a little - in Italy - and go and spend New Year's Eve with friends in Liguria

We used to say "contrordine compagni" (that translated sounds something like "Countermand Comrades"): we're going to the same friends, but in Turin; from there we can decide if to go to Liguria or not

Well, I hope you have the best time no matter where you end up! :)

We had our traditional lucky Soba noodles and sweet beans yesterday - Ron's relatives tell me those are meant to confer luck in the New Year. And in our video chat with the Seattle, Washington USA relatives, our niece Sienna said she had "many and many" extra beans for extra luck. :) Let's hope it works!
And today we baked some traditional Mochi. Came out a little misshapen from the oven but it tasted good.
Hope everyone's first days of the new year are going well!

Nowhere whatsoever! The friend we were going to visit has turned out positive to COVID. So, even if we were already driving upnorth, we Uturned and went back home.
But I have to say that I almost enjoyed our quite New Year'a Eve at home, only my husband and me. And the first day of the year we went to a seaside close home. See the sunny side of life, especially these days!

Happy February Christine!
Did anyone celebrate Chinese New Year?
My coworkers in Taiwan have the whole week off, and we'll celebrate tonight at home with some various Asian appetizers. Ron's family is Japanese American, and the Japanese celebrate New Year on the same day as the Western calendar. But we are always ready for another holiday. :)

Happy February to all of us!
I'm at the moment in a very bad "working period": I can't get along well with my new manager, and I definitly need a new beginning. Hope I'll make it possible this month...

In Italy it's called "Il giorno della Merla" - the day of the she-blackbird.
We say that if it reins or is windy Winter will still be long, if it's sunny, Winter will be over soon. Today here is sunny and not too cold: I feel optimist!

That's too bad! Hope you find another job where you can use your talents with a manager that appreciates you!
Sometimes my work is very stressful, and I do get annoyed sometimes with my boss. But I am lucky in that deep down he really respects my work and opinion, and I respect his too. Overall, all my coworkers are great! Hopefully my boss never retires!! :)

You're lucky indeed; I don't mind stressful work, if only I could go on as before, with autonomy and trust. THings have changed so much I'm really upset.

How lovely Ruth to have two new babies in the extended family! It's an occasion for joy! :)
Glad too you were able to semi-retire. I'm only just past 50 but sometimes I wish for it myself. :)

And this is "Ghost Rock" that we saw along the way - the face is a naturally occurring feature in the rock due to erosion, pretty weird huh? :)
