Thanks Greg. After last year of working short all the time where many nights I would end up being the only aide for 40 residents and then getting Covid in Nov 2020 I decided I was done. Only working two days a week has made my stress level go way down.. The only way I was able to do this was I got into a subsidized senior apartment which I am extremely grateful for.

Glad you found a way to get out of that situation Ruth!! - being the only aide sounds miserable and stressful. The call light must have never gone off!
At my work, they've hired two junior engineers to help me, and it has made things a lot better for me as well. There's still crush periods, but at least we can manage normal times much better.
It's part of the reason I have some energy for Goodreads and reading again. I didn't read a single book in 2020! But I am starting to feel more like myself again. :)

Greg: I’m glad to hear your work situation is better, and I’m sure I speak for a lot of us at AAB that we are glad you have the energy and time for our group. Your thoughts are always so encouraging and enlightening! Enjoy your reading, and thank you!

Thanks so much Steve! :)
Thanks so much Steve! :)
Hey everyone. I'm going a bit mad rn; Goodreads has stopped sending me notifications for everything - discussion posts, reviews, likes, comments etc. I went through my account settings, the option for sending notifs is turned on. can't seem to figure out what's the issue here. anyone has any clue what could possibly be going on?

I've noticed that too on and off Damini! The notifications seem really buggy. What works best for me is to do Community->Discussions. At least that lists the most recent ones, even if the red "(new)" is sometimes missing.

Cool Christine. I find it odd that in different countries it takes place at different times. In the UK, daylight savings time isn’t until the 27th, which is also our Mother’s Day then.

It was daylight savings day here today - I lost an hour of sleep and am sooo tired! :(

In Italy - and Europe I suppose - it will be on the 27 of March - I think

Happy Spring everyone! It's lovely weather where I am at the minute and the sun is shining. I hope it continues.
It's the begining of summer here (not even spring) and someone get me a time machine so I can fast forward to October, which is when it starts to get cool!

Hello, everyone. I've been ill these last few weeks. Still too sick to read anything. Keep me in your prayers. I look forward to returning to Goodreads.
Fighting against a nasty migrain at work!
But it's mainly my fault, since I don't wanto to take a FANS!

Now I'm much better thanks!
I've had a really nice evening yesterday with some friends in a dinner with reading from Ivan the Fool by Leo Tolstoy.
Still we've not learned the lesson...

Stuck in traffic on my way back home from work, and really wishing I'd chosen to stay home today, so I could crack into my latest read. Instead, I'm breathing in fumes and staring at the backs of the heads of motorcyclists.
I’m visiting my sister in the house we grew up in, awash in memories of my childhood and my parents.

I can immagine! The houses of my childhood and young age are both sold; and sometimes I think it's better this way!
