What are you doing right now? Part 2

Walking in pouring rain is NOT as nice as walking in cloudy or sunny weather. I was trying to convince myself that it all depended on your clothing. You cannot see a thing with water streaming down your glasses.

I told my son to bring very hot clothes when he will come to Sweden. I even don't know if he bought some winter shoes. Oh well, when he will have cold feet, he will buy them.
Today I have seen that we have still 27°C under the sun. We are having a hot autumn this year.

Thanks Chrissie, and wow that is cold! You have to love walks a lot to go out at that temperature! :) Hope everything went smoothly with renewing the passports.

I am a little spoiled now that I haven't lived in a cold climate in so long. :)
Hope your walking weather improves!

Morning and evening are cold also here though I don't think it goes down to 10°C. I was surprised too today when going out I have seen 27°! I knew it was hot but not that much.

Have a safe trip and a good time with friends and relatives!
I'm through with my Jane Austen Saturday! And it went really well.
I can't upload all the photoes that have been made - don't ask me why photobucket isn't working - but some you still can see:

It was not fun. We called a neighbor who hunts them and told him where they were.
Oscar just looked at them like they were horses running by. I mean these things are big, chunky beasts. He looked kind of surprised. It was not like he made any attempt to run after them, thank goodness. With deer and rabbits he wants to chase them. Squirrels too. Today I saw him sitting patiently staring up at a tree and so I looked too and there was a squirrel. Both just looking at each other.

Cocoa sounds like a good dog to have around for one of these walks Joan! A smart dog! :)

Laura, great photos!
Chrissie--OMG, I'm glad you're okay. Sounds hair-raising.
It's a gray, gloomy 46F/7C rainy day in Cincinnati. It's near time for my husband to be driving home and traffic will be awful. (Drivers here don't do well in the rain.) I'm glad I'm cozy inside with a warm cup of coffee. Spent the afternoon writing reviews and catching up on email.
What a great World Series we're having!

How fun Laura - thanks for posting the photos! Great to see you in action with your event. It would be a dream job for me all these events you put on with/for writers and artists!

How scary Chrissie - I have heard boars are very agressive, but I've luckily never encountered one. I see coyotes and possums often, but those tend to steer clear as long as you leave them alone. Nothing like charging boars!!

If I had a brown female dog, but we always choose males, I would call her Java. Isn't hat a cool name?

You know what would be handy to have? A big foam hammer to hit your computer with.

That is a great name. My Cocoa is actually black -my husband called her Coco like Coco Channel but I thought he meant cocoa because chocolate is always uppermost in my mind.
I love spaniels though I’ve never had an Irish water spaniel - just cockers and springers.

Good job, Laura! I'm glad everything went well.

Oh my! I wouldn't be happy either to meet wild boars. Sometimes they come down in the city looking for food, above all in the river (it's a river without water) but I have never met one thankfully. This year, following the river, they arrived to the beach!

Irish Water Spaniels do not look like spaniels at all. Look here: https://www.google.se/search?q=irish+...
Ha ha about coco versus cocoa. So you are addicted to chocolate huh.
My daughter had the most adorable English cocker spaniel, which look very different from American cocker spaniels. He was called Hobson. He was black white and brown in clear distinct spots. He would look at you with these big eyes and of course you had to pat him or give him a treat. He KNEW he was adorable. He looked like this: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...
but he had brown spots on his back too. He was such a sweetie. We have had zillions of dogs in our family.
So did you have fun on that walk?

My husband who is native to Sweden has never seen them before. Even he was shocked. The person we bought our house from hunted boars in Poland. If he had stayed he wouldn't have had to travel there! He would practice out in the yard and for the first years I had to pick up arrows all over the place.

Did he kill them with arrows?! Not a hunting gun?
Joan wrote: "The boars come right into the city and down to the beach? They don’t avoid areas with people?"
I've heard that boars are unusually agressive Joan. Like hippos, they won't necessarily avoid people.
Chrissie, I imagine it takes some courage to hunt them with bows and arrows!!

I guess so. I was just annoyed because I found arrows stuck in trees all over the place.
I did not see the boars today, and that is fine by me.
I said it was dark here at six, but that was wrong. It is pitch black at 16:30! We moved the clock back last Sunday. I like winter time much better than summer time. I just wish it didn't change.

No, if they are looking for food they come also in the city though they prefer the river. Here you can see some pics: http://www.ivg.it/fotogallery/cinghia...
One or two years ago I arrived home with the car after have done some grocery shopping, I parked and went into my home. As soon as I arrived I heard too many voices on the street so I went on the balcony to see what was going on. A board was on the road where I parked a couple of minutes earlier. I'm glad I was already at home!

Happy belated b-day, Greg!
dely, I think Leslie' s reasoning could be quite on the mark. It is not so strange that you are missing him so you react by getting annoyed instead. We areONLYy human. I will go and check out your new photo.
Joan, sorry about Tiller! It is like a whole in the universe when a pet dies. Boy do I understand. Our pets are with us more than our spouses They rely upon us in a way that goes beyond human relationships b/c there is so much dependency.
Greg, sorry to hear you are not feeling well.........but having an excuse to cancel a dentist appointment is always nice. I'm joking.
It is pouring here too. Around 0 degrees C and 40km/hr wind. And now I have to go out and take my second walk. It isn't so bad as long as you take the time to put on the correct clothes. I am wearing two fleeces, long underwear and pants and rain pants and long raincoat with a hood. I look like a little kid bundled up to the teeth. After that we have to go over and get a new passport. Our old ones are no longer valid.
