15.3. National Library Week is April 9-15

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba

This book fits both options 1 & 2. William Kamkwamba, the author of the book, who is also the main character, learns how to build windmills and other devices by self-learning while he's out of school due to poverty. The library plays a huge role in helping him gain his knowledge, as that is where he goes to find books that give him all sorts of ideas on what to build and how to build them. Without the library, William would have been just another ordinary school dropout from Malawi.

For book 2, I read Pines (Wayward Pines, #1) by Blake Crouch - the woods are a good place to read - as the oldest of 5 kids in my family, I always had to go out and sit in the woods behind our house in order to spend time reading without being pestered by little sibs, or assigned more chores by my mother.
