Lexi nodded. "He crumbled the house to the ground." She said, smiling faintly. Torch nodded. "On it. It may take me a while to find her though."He said, taking off.
London nodded slowly, her smile growing, and Max smiled back.
Mae smiled "good boy..." she squeezed her hand "you better get home to Damon before he destroys the world looking for you!"James sighed tiredly and snuggled in his pillow "Loo..."
Lexi paled. "Right." she agreed. "It was great talking to you! We have to visit again soon!" She called over her shoulder as she ran out to the car. She sped home and leaped out again, running into the house. She was worried Damon would be mad because she left without telling him. London smiled and snuggled against him, resting her head tucked up against his chest. "I'm here." She whispered.
Damon was sitting on the bed and sighed in relief when she came in "I was so scared...going to start a search party."James snuggled and sighed "I'm going to miss running..."
Lexi quickly went to him and hugged him. "I'm so sorry. James was paralyzed, and Mae wanted to talk." She explained. London bit her lip. "We're going to have so much fun flying together, and when I can, I will heal you so you can run again." She promised.
Damon frowned "oh no...my gosh? How are they handling that?..." He held her close kissing her hair "are you ok?"James smiled a little "I don't want to hurt you though...Daddy can't heal me..."
Lexi bit her lip. "They're working through it." She said softly. She leaned against him and nodded. "stiff, but ok." She promised. London smiled. "Well I heal faster than Dad. And when I'm stronger, I will be able to heal your legs." She said confidently.
Damon rubbed her arm and sighed "I'm glad you are doing better...anything you need I'll do it! Demetri is asleep downstairs..."James smiled "I have the best baby sister!"
Lexi nodded. "Great." She kissed his cheek. "Torch is getting Taylor for us. The only thing I need is you. I just need to feel safe. And you're doing that for me right now." She said, smiling softly. London flushed and smiled up at him. "Thanks. I love you."
Damon sighed in relief and rested back against the wall "I need to go through a week long coma...with everything, Demetri is starting to develop his powers, Lukas thinks he is more powerful than even me!"James smiled "love you too...is mom and dad ok?"
Lexi smiled proudly. "Like father like son." She said softly. "I have no idea how I'm going to keep up with you two!" She said, and shook her head. "But I hear you on the coma."London nodded slowly. "Mom was crying with Lexi. But I think she and Dad are ok."
Damon chuckled "you don't need to worry about catching up! You're the mom you have more power then you give yourself credit for!" He ran his hand through his hair "how's Mae?..."James frowned, he didn't want to make his mom sad! "Oh..."
Lexi smiled a little. "Thank you." She said honestly, feeling a little better about herself. Then she bit her lip. "Crying." She said honestly. "But she says she's ok."London hugged him tight. "It's alright." She promised. "She said she was ok. I think it was just a bit of a shock, that's all." She assured.
Damon sighed "I wish there was something we could do? They do so much for us..." He put his head in his hands in thought.James sighed in relief "good!...we can still play in our treehouse! Dad can make a ramp!"
Lexi nodded slowly. "I know... but what can be done about a boy with no legs?" She asked softly, biting her lip. "I guess he and I relate. Seeing as I can't use my wings." She said softly. Changing the topic quickly, she said. "We could make meals for them, to make it easier on Mae..."London nodded. "Of course. And you can still fly up there if you want to." She reminded him, smiling.
Damon grinned and nodded "that's a great idea! Maybe get a toy for James that doesn't involve using his legs?"James grinned "oh yeah! I can still fly!"
Lexi nodded eagerly. "Exactly." She agreed, smiling happily. She hugging him tight then, sighing. It was times like this that she could forget what happened yesterday. Then a thought came to mind. "Damon..." She swallowed, and continued. "Do you think you could cut my wings off?"London nodded and hugged him. "Yes you can." Her hand went to his back to check for the bumps that marked where his wings were hidden, and she smiled. "They still work just fine."
Damon nearly let go of her from the shock that filled his body "I...what?...no! I couldn't ever hurt you like that Lexi!" He pleaded, the last time he hurt her he vowed would be the last he'd hurt anyone deliberately.James grinned, that made the color come back in his cheeks and he actually did feel happy! "That's great! Let's read this book you got together!"
Lexi bit her lip and nodded, rather disappointed. She looked down. "Alright." she said softly. "I just hoped that... well... I don't want to be clipped forever Damon... And the only way the wings will grow back whole, is if the old ones come off." She said softly. London nodded. "Alright." She agreed. She grabbed the book and put it in his hands, snuggling up beside him. "Read to me?" She asked hopefully. "I'll read a page, you read a page?"
Damon swallowed forgetting about that fact he pulled her into a side hug and sighed deeply "I'll do it...but I just can't stand to see you hurt or in pain so I'll get a potion to put you to sleep..."James nodded and read the title and the author as he turned the page "once upon a time there was a mother duck that had just lay her eggs." He turned the page smiling at her so she could read.
Lexi nodded, smiling then. She hugged him back. "Thank you." She said. "Can we do that as soon as possible? They'll take a while to grow back once they're off, and I want to have them whole again." She said honestly..London smiled, looking at the pictures. "One egg was bigger then the rest. But the duck still sat on them all to keep them warm." She read, flipping the page.
Damon nodded and kissed her cheek "I'll go talk to Lucas and get what we need, oh! He's dating Anne by the way!"James laughed at the size of the really big egg "Finally it was time for the eggs to hatch, the duck wobble and shook until the ducklings popped up from underneath. The big egg shook more then the others and out popped a baby dinosaur!"
Lexi nodded. "Great." She agreed. Then she grinned. "Seriously? Well now that's a match made in heaven. Er, well, hell rather." She said, laughing softly. "Go on then. I'll be waiting." She promised.London giggled, grinning at the book, and then James, and then back again. "The mother duck loved all her ducklings just the same, even though one didn't quite fit in, and the dinosaur thought he was a duckling like the rest of his siblings!"
Damon smiled and pecked her cheek "there's a revolver under the mattress use it if anything happens alright?" His eyes showed nothing but seriousness, he couldn't take any chances leaving her alone.James laughed at the pictures and grinned at London "how can a dinosaur think it's a duck?"
Lexi nodded seriously, shivering at the thought of having to use it. "Alright. I'll be fine." She assured. She didn't tell him that she had been taken without a fight last time, that would just worry him. "Go on! I want my wings back!" She urged, shooing him away. London giggled and shook her head. "I don't know! He must be pretty dumb." She said, enjoying spending time with her brother.
Damon chuckled and headed down to Hell and knocked on Lucas' door he could hear laughing on the other side...oh brother! "Luk it's Damon!"James shrugged "I don't think he is, he's cute!" He flipped the page since it was his turn to read "the dinosaur tried flying...but that didn't work. The dinosaur tried swimming and that didn't work either. His siblings would tease and laugh at him.
Lucas got up and walked to the door, opening it. "Damon. I'm busy, come back another time." he said, starting to close the door again. London nodded. "Yes he is, he's very cute." She agreed before he started reading again. Reading like this made it easy to forget what was wrong. She continued. "The dinosaur was feeling very badly for himself. But as time went on, he started to grow..."
Damon caught the door immediately "I need surgical supplies and a sleeping potion, and Anne I'm sure will be fine waiting 2 minutes!"James' eyes went wide as he stared at the dinosaur grow "soon the dinosaur was 10 times bigger than the nest which was his home. Sadly the mother duck had to say goodbye to the dinosaur and sent him on his way.
Lucas paused then, raising an eyebrow at Damon. "I'm not even going to ask why." He said, shaking his head. He sighed softly. "Wait here." He disappeared into his cave for a moment, and when he came back, he had a case full of surgical instruments and a bottle of milky liquid in his hands which he immediately handed to Damon. "Good luck on whatever you're doing. Keep in mind that the potion only lasts two hours." He said, smiling briefly before shutting the door and going back to Anne.London's smile disappeared as she looked at the picture of the sad little dinosaur. "It started to rain, and the dinosaur walked and walked, trying to find somewhere to stay."
Damon swallowed, no pressure...two hours would be plenty of time right? He headed back up and turned their bed into a sterile sheet environment. He rubbed Lexi's back trying to her them both calm.James frowned watching the dinosaur look around for some shelter "he could stay in our tree house?"
Lexi spent a nerve wracking ten minutes waiting as stiff as a post for Damon to return. When he did, she sighed in relief and got off of the bed as he prepared it. She was starting to get nervous now, her heart pounding. When Damon started to rub her back, she relaxed a little, closing her eyes and breathing deeply. Then she looked at him, waiting for instruction. "Do you want me to lie down now?" She asked, wondering if she should take her shirt off as well. London nodded. "He could... if he would fit!" She said, as by now, in the story, the dinosaur had gotten much bigger.
Damon sighed and nodded, he couldn't do this! "Lex...can't we get someone else?...I can't hurt you! What if the potion wears off too soon?" He saw the look on her face and he took a deep breath "Alright..." He handed her the bottle "drink up..."James frowned "true..." He kept reading "eventually he found a cave that was much bigger than he was, he scurried in and curled into a ball to stay warm!"
Lexi nodded, obediently crawling onto the bed. She pulled her shirt off and took a deep breath, letting her wings appear on her back and stretch slowly. She traced the jagged, cut tips and bit her lip. "Come on Damon, we've gotten this far..." She said when he started protesting. She smiled then and took the potion from his hands, popping the stopper off. She drank it in one gulp and then grimaced. "Man that was nasty..." Her head started to spin and she sighed, laying down on her stomach quickly as her world darkened, her wings draping limply over her bare back. London smiled, happy for the dinosaur. "The dinosaur was safe and warm in there, and he slept for the whole night. In the morning, he saw big footprints in the cave that weren't his!"
Damon sighed and pulled out the tools as he stroked back the feathers and started to cut them away from the bone. He was just trying to imagine this was a chicken that he was preparing for dinner not the love of his life.James' eyes got wide and excited as he traced his finger over the big footprint. He quickly turned the page. "He looked at his own feet, three toes and then back at the monsterous footprint, three toes! He quickly began to follow the footprints deeper into the cave.
Blood leaked from the small incision and started to run down Lexi's back. She stayed motionless, except for the gentle rise and fall of her shoulders as she breathed. London grinned, clenching her hands in excitement. "The dinosaur followed the prints until he heard a rumbling in the darkness, like another animal. He looked around nervously...."
Damon grabbed a cloth and wiped it all up as he snapped off the thin bone letting the first wing come off. He quickly sewed up the skin and bandaged it as he worked on the next one.James was practically jumping on the bed he was so eager. "Out from the darkness came two very big feet, that were attached to two strong legs. He looked way up and shivered seeing very big teeth.
Lexi stirred when he started stitching her wound, and when he started cutting the second one, she groaned softly, wincing, but she was still mostly unconscious. London laughed in excitement and grinned. "And those teeth made a huge smile as a Mamma dinosaur stepped out!" She exclaimed, giggling.
Damon swore softly and got it done quickly, her wincing and moans were driving deep into his heart as he stitched and bandaged her carefully pulling the blankets back and getting her as comfortable possible. He stared at the wings having no idea what to do with them.James fist pumped in the air excited that he called it and that the dinosaur was so happy. "The dinosaur jumped and reached out his arms knowing exactly who she was. They hugged and mama dinosaur promised to never let him go again...the end!"

Lexi slowly came to a few minutes later and she gasped, her face scrunching up. Her back was lit with searing fire, but she didn't dare move for fear of making it worse. "What did you do!? Cut off a limb!?" She muttered, then she winced and shook her head. "Never mind. Don't answer that." Her eyes fell on the wings and her heart filled with both relief and sorrow. "Thank you."London grinned and laughed with pure joy. "That. Was a good book." She said, leaning her head on his shoulder. "Thanks for reading with me."

Damon shrank back his face full of sorrow and guilt. The pain she was in...he swallowed and took the wings out to the dumpster and covered them with trash before coming back. He distracted himself with cleaning the tools and shook his head as the tears streamed silently "I'm s-sorry...I'll get something for the pain..."James grinned and nodded "the best book ever! You are getting really good with reading Loo!" He looked up when the door opened and smiled seeing his mom and brother "aww Zachy!"
((have to go to bed early tonight, last post :( ))Lexi watched as he left with her wings. She bit her lip, watching him clean the tools. He was crying. He was actually crying. That hurt her more than the pain in her back did. "Hey." She said softly. "I asked you to do this Damon, please don't cry. The pain's not that bad, really." She whispered, trying to force away a wince and smile.
London grinned and kissed his cheek. "Thanks! You are too!" She saw their mother and lit up. "Hi mom! Hi Zach! How are you guys?"
((Aww goodnight love!))Damon shook his head and sighed "you're a bad liar Lexi...I'll get the tools back to Lukas and get some pain reliever and coolant..." He pecked her forehead and headed down knocking on the door again.
Mae smiled "we are good! Zachy wanted to see his siblings!" She let London hold him and kissed James' forehead moving his hair back "you doing ok?"
James nodded and smiled "we finished a really good book!"
Lexi winced, but only because he had seen through her. She shrugged a little, which was a bad idea on her part because pain exploded in her shoulders and she groaned. Luckily, Damon had already left. Lucas came to the door, huffing. "Back so soon? How did it go?" He took the tools from him.
London took Zach gently and rocked him. "Hey baby boy." She whispered, smiling at her younger brother. Then she nodded enthusiastically. "We did! we read it together."
Damon sighed "do you have any pain reliever or coolant?..." He ran a hand through his hair his whole body weighed down by stress.Mae smiled "that's great! It's too bad you don't like each other!" James frowned instantly "what?! I love loo! She's my best friend!" Mae laughed "I know darling...it was a joke."
Lukas nodded slowly, still curious as to why he would need it. He handed Damon a salve. "Rub it on the wound once daily. Itll sting at first, but it numbs after." He warned.London was shocked when her mother said they didnt like eachother, but she relaxed when it was explained to her. "Good. Because I love James. He's my best friend." She said seriously.
Damon sighed hating that it'll still cause her pain "thank you..."he said numbly and headed back up. He saw her tremble with pain and sat on her bed "I have some salve...it'll sting at first but it'll go numb."Mae smiled and nodded "I know!" James started to get really delerious and Mae knew visiting time was over "come on London...time to go home say goodnight to James!"
Lexi had been gritting her teeth and trying to control the pain for the past few minutes, but she relaxed somewhat when Damon came back. "That's alright. Just put it on." She urged, wincing. "It hurts, and numbing would be nice."London's eyes grew wide and she shook her head. "But I don't want to go! I want to stay with James! I want to stay here with him!" She said, hugging him tightly.
Damon sighed and gently rubbed it on both incisions carefully. He kissed the side of her neck and took her hand "Denetri is asleep...he's excited to go to school tomorrow...with London..."James sighed "it's ok mom...she can stay..." He nuzzled her and started to go to sleep.
Mae sighed "ok honey you still are going to school tomorrow."
Lexi sucked in a sharp breath when the cool cream bit into her flesh. She tensed, and then sighed in relief when the pain slowly dulled. Lexi looked sad then. "I'll be missing his first day of school..."London nodded. "Alright." She agreed, curling up with James and yawning, starting to fall asleep.
James smiled "good we are all friends again!"
