McKensie and Lara

Torch hugged her gently, holding her against him. "We are together." He assured gently, kissing her forehead. "I love you more than anything."

Mae smiled and plated the food she snuck a kiss and sat down "when is our anniversary of us meeting?"

"Tomorrow!" Torch exclaimed, smiling as he sat and started to gobble down the food she had made. "Crazy that its been a year... and thanks for the delectable food, ps."

Mae nuzzled him and smiled "the best year ever! That's what I'm here for honey!"

Even from lightyears away on another planet, Lexi's now much stronger core could feel Damon's pulsing back on earth. It made the cold cell and even colder chains on her wrists and ankles bearable. But it also made the pain in her hear overwhelming. Tucking her wings around herself, she curled up and cried.
Torch smiled, kissing her cheek. "We should hire a babysitter and go do something special tomorrow night." He offered.

Mae pursed her lips "not when James is in the hospital...I want to take care of Zach..." She sighed "I'm sorry just a worry wart mom..."

Torch nodded and raked a hand through his hair, feeling rather guilty. "Alright. We can just have a supper at home then?"

Mae caught his hand and held it to her cheek "I'd give anything to just have time with you...especially on our special day...but there's just too much...I want to be at peace and be happy on our date..."

Torch nodded, kissing her cheek. "Let me know a day when you think you'd be free to do a little something and ill be thrilled." He promised.

Mae smiled "you always make me feel like a girl in highschool Torch...all giddy hoping you ask me to the prom!" She frowned getting one of her visions her eyes clouded over "Taylor and Demetri are orphans..."

Torch smiled and shrugged. Then he tensed as tight as a bowstring, blood draining fro. His face. "But that means...." he gulped. His chest constricted. "What happened to Damon!?"

Mae swallowed "I didn't see that...I don't know Torch! But we have to get those kids out of that house! Demetri can't take care of Taylor she's a newborn!"

Torch looked stricken, but he nodded slowly, taking off. He went to Damons house and scooped up a protesting Dem, as well as grabbing Taylor, before bringing them both back to Mae. Then he just held his head in his hands.

Mae was shocked herself she sat by Demetri "when is the last time you saw your parents Dem?" She had to figure this out...only if just for closure.

Lexi's mind finally caught up, still slow because of the drug. Damon was here! She could feel him. She gasped for joy, tears stinging at her eyes. But then she heard his words. She heard that he was only coming to get her because Dem wanted him to. "He doesnt want me?" She thought, her heart broken.
Dem lokked down, fidgeting. "I havent seen them for a couple hours." He said honestly.

Mae nodded "did they say anything? Where they were going or doing?" She grabbed a glass of milk to calm his nerves.

Dem drank down the milk quickly. "Mom left Dad. And now he's out looking for her." He said honestly.

Mae looked up Torch wondering if he heard that "it's ok...you can stay here till they come back alright?" She showed him the twins room and let him sleep on James' bed. She was rocking Taylor, though it felt like she was getting sick whenever she held her "Lexi left Damon?...what? They just had a baby!"

Dem nodded and wandered off to go rest.
Torch was pacing the room, practically tearing his hair out. "I am going to wring that girl's neck." He growled.

Mae looked at him repulsed "you can't disrespect the dead Torch!" She snapped "we don't know what really happened...all we can do is take care of their kids!"

Torch scowled, still pacing. "We can go visit her in hell and see what she has to say for herself then." He snapped. He was blinded by anger and grief.

Mae was taken aback and didn't even recognize him "Torch! I can't believe what I'm hearing! These were our best friends our family!" She was continue but having Taylor in her arms made her feel unusual she collapsed to the ground hitting her head on the coffee table just a mere human.

Torch threw his hand s in the air. "Yeah! Until.... Mae!?" He ran over to her, setting Taylor down to the side. "Mae are you alright?" He asked, holding her tight.

Mae weakly opened her eyes, which were dull blue "I feel so strange..." She whispered touching the gash on her forehead.

Torch lay his hand on her forehead and gently healed the gash. He noted the colour of her eyes and frowned a little. "How strange?" He asked. "What do you feel exactly Mae?"

Mae shook her head "I'm human Torch...powerless...barely any strength..."

Torch stilled, his lips parting in surprise. "What?" He asked, even though he had heard her just fine. "But... but how?" He gathered her into his arms and held her protectively against him. The thought of his little angel helpless made him feel sick.

Mae shook her head "I don't know...it was like the baby took everything when I held her..."

"The baby....?" He said softly, as if just understanding. "Damon doesn't have that power..." He said softly, and anger contorted his features. "I swear if it is Lexi's fault that child stole your powers so help me I will--" He clenched his fists and shook his head, biting back the words he was about to say.

Mae winced his demon anger too much for her human senses. she sighed and sat on the chair "I can't raise the children anymore...they'll over power me...Alex...what am I going to do?"

Torch sighed softly, forcing himself to breathe and control his anger. He hugged her gently. "They wouldn't overpower you Mae. They love you. You're still the perfect mother and just what our family needs. I'll figure out how to get your powers back if I can." He promised.

Mae sighed and nodded trying to believe him "I love you...I don't want to leave...but I don't know what help I will be? I feel as weak as a feather..."

Torch hugged her, kissing her cheek. "A gorgeous graceful feather who can still hold her own in this house. You'll still be an amazing mother." He tried to convince her, kissing her lips this time.

Mae kissed him back tears streaming down her cheeks, his lips slightly burned but she could handle it. Kissing him was far more rewarding than being without the pain "why are you so good to me?..."

Torch cupped her cheeks gently between both his hands, smiling softly at her. His thumbs wiped away her tears as he held her. "Because I love you so darn much." He whispered, kissing her briefly again. "And nothing could ever change that."

Mae smiled and nuzzled him "I wish...there was a way to get them back though...I feel like a stranger in my own body."

Torch nodded sympathetically. "I will work my hardest to find a solution. There has to be someway to get them back..." He said, thoughtfully.

Mae nodded "don't touch the baby directly...use a blanket of else you'll be no better off as me!"

Torch nodded, eyeing the child with a strange combination of disgust and caution. "Point taken." He said, nodding slowly. "I really want to know where Lexi got those powers."

Mae frowned "Torch! She's just a baby she didn't know any better! She's your best friends so you don't need to keep looking at her like she's a bomb!"

Torch rolled his eyes. "A baby that took your powers!" He said, glaring at it before looking away again. "That thing isn't really Damon's. Dem is his. That.... is Lexi's." He said, actually growling. He was still overly protective of Mae at the moment.

Mae could not handle his anger at the high peak it was at, she tried to protest not understanding his animosity when her chest ached and burned she couldn't breathe "Torch..." She was having a heart attack.

Torch looked at her in shock for the moment it took him to understand. Then he swore. "Crap Mae! I'm so sorry! I didn't think that..." He bit his lip and lay his hand on her chest, closing his eyes as he worked on stopping the heart attack.

Mae breathed out and sighed in relief when the pain stopped "I can't handle your anger...I wouldn't handle it even if I was still a demon! So you need to forget and forgive! Or at least tell me what is really going on..."

Torch raked a hand through his hair and sighed heavily. "I'm sorry. I'm just worried about you... and... Those powers the child has... they're unnatural..."

Mae nodded and sighed "I'm sure Damon and Lexi were going to take care of it...make them stable...but they aren't here anymore! We still have to help raise her!"

When she shouted that they weren't there anymore, Torch shrank back like he had been struck. His best friend wasn't there anymore. He had been trying to deny it, but now there was no running from the truth. He curled up in a defeated little heap, his wings unfurling from his back and wrapping around his body. He didn't want Mae to see him cry.

Mae was shocked at herself when she yelled, she supposed she had pent up feelings too... She moved over and rubbed his back while his wings shrouded him "I'm sorry my love...I'm sorry..." She whispered and rested her head close to him .
Mae nodded "that would be nice! Why can't we just always be together?" She teased and kissed him lovingly and nuzzled him.
