Torch had only just reaches the mansion when he got Mae's message. He immediately spun and flew back. He paled when he saw James and immediately started to heal him. "What happened?" He asked."H-he fell...." london managed through her tears.
Lexi was trembling head to toe, much of her body bruised, visible through the little she was wearing. She looked up at Damon with dull eyes. It took her a couple of seconds to recognize him, and when she did, she just started sobbing.
Mae frowned and held London close "Torch there isn't any change...we should get him to the hospital..." She said worriedly and looked at Demetri "I'll stay here with Dem and Zach."Damon felt a rumbling of anger and the whole mansion came crumbling to the ground in a pile of debri. He took her home and started a warm bath carefully cleaning and dressing her wounds staying silent.
Torch nodded. "Alright." He agreed quietly. He lifted James into his arms and took him to the hospital. He immediately went into the emergency and got the attention of a doctor.Lexi winced when her abused body touched the water, but other than that, she didnt move much. However, she didnt stop trembling for one second, and her eyes held flickering fear.
The doctor immediately took him back into a trauma room and got him hooked up to monitors and equipment to check his brain functioning.Mae held London on her lap trying to calm her down "he's going to be ok Loo..."
Damon swallowed hating that he wasn't there, he was worthless he caused Leci to go through something he swore would never happen to her again...he got her dressed and tucked into bed watching over her with pained eyes.
Torch watched nervously, pacing back and forth. He frowned, clasping his hands together. This was his fault... the fort should have been safer.London shook her head, crying softly. "He's dying, isnt he?"
Lexi relaxed a little when she felt the sheets around her, smelling, feeling, and seeing familiar things. She was still trembling, but she seemed more aware of her surroundings. She mercifully drifted off into sleep for a half hour, amd when she woke, she actually looked aroundthe room once. "Damon..." she whispered, wincing as tears sprang into her eyes. She closed them tight and let one of her wings fold out to show it to him. The tips had been snipped off. She was clipped.
The doctors let him back into the room informing him that his brain still functioned he just injured his spine very badly and they won't know how bad until he wakes up.Mae shook her head "he's not...daddy won't let that happen..."
Damon felt like he had been shot multiple times in the stomach, he felt tears spring in his eyes and he just held her stroking her feathers softly. She was grounded, he had no idea where his baby girl was...he wasn't sure things could get much worse from this point.
Torch nodded slowly, chewing his lip. He sat by his son, praying that he would be alrigh.London nodded nervously and hugged her, tryng to be brave.
Lexi hugged him tightly like she was scared she was going to be wrenched from him. "My whole body hurts." She whispered softly, hiding her face in his t-shirt. "I was so scared. It was exactly like last time." She stammered, trembling in his arms. She didnt even want to think about her wings.
Mae stroke her hair back and sighed "tell me about your first day at school?"Damon cradled her in his arms holding her tightly afraid to let her go "I destroyed the entire place...I'm so sorry..." He whispered painfully through his tears "do you know where they took Taylor?"
((Last post for tonigh. Sorry.))London smiled faintly. "I got a friend, and a boyfreind. But then he broke up with me..." she bit her lip.
Lexi shook her head. Her life was slowly returning to her eyes. "It wasntyour fault." She whispered seriously, trying to control her trembling. "They took taylor to a nursery. In new york. We can get her back. Its alright." She promised, still hiding against him. It would be a long road to recovery for her.
((All good goodnight!))Mae frowned and held her closer "well that was a dumb thing for him to do!" She said kissing her forehead "boys are dumb at this age anyways..."
Damon stroke her hair and sighed pressing his lips against her forehead "can I do anything to help?" He whispered softly knowing that it would be a long time till she was alright...it would be a long time till he was alright!
London smiled a little and nodded. "Alright then." She hugged her. "James isnt dumb." She said softly.Lexi bit her lip. "Just be here. Please." She said, clutching him. She was afraid of being apart from him, afraid of being taken again. She leaned her head on his chest and closed her eyes, trying to relax.
Mae shook her head "your brother is a special case..." She sighed worried about him "go wash up for dinner!"Damon just held her close and tightly pulling the blankets over them "I'm here...not going anywhere..." He whispered meaningfully and closed his eyes.
London nodded and hopped up, obediently going to get washed up. She was worried for her brother, and she wanted to see him again. Lexi nodded slowly, sighing softly in relief. She kept her arms wrapped around him, hiding. But for once in the last twenty four hours, she actually stopped trembling.
Mae sighed and contacted Torch 'how's he doing?' She stirred the mashed potatoes and smiled at Demetri "is it fun being an older brother?"Damon stroke her back trying to keep in the energy of calmness and safety, he was getting sleepy though he used up a lot of power.
Dem smiled and nodded. "Yes it is Mrs Milton." He said politely. "Taylor is so cute and small."Torch sighed softly, watching over James. 'They say they wont know the damage until he wakes up.'. He told her softly.
Lexi found herself drifting in and out of a restless sleep, not able to stay awake because she was exhausted, but not able to fully fall asleep either because of the nightmares.
Mae smiled a little though her eyes were worried about her son, he still hadn't woken up..."your parents tell me you're really smart!" She heard London come back downstairs "we'll visit him after dinner!"Damon had crept into her mind and replaced those memories with memories of them and peaceful calm thoughts. It took everything he had left in him and he fell asleep.
Dem smiled and flushed softly. "Thanks." He said, looking down sheepishly. London nodded excitedly. "Is he alright?" She asked, worried.
Lexi finally passed out when he mind quieted, and she slept soundly, her body trying to heal and regain energy.
Mae smiled at the both of them as she plated the food "we won't know till he wakes up...but the doctors seem very hopeful!" She added trying to convince herself of the very thing. She remembered the Phoenix in Torch's study and frowned wondering why that was coming to mind.
London nodded, believing her mother's words. She smiled, thrilled. "Well that's a relief." She said softly.Torch squeezed his son's hand gently. "Come on James." He whispered.
Mae nodded a little and smiled "finish your dinner..." She headed to the study and picked up the book on Pheonix's she frowned making checkmatks to everything that James had ever done or experienced.James moaned his head turning on the pillow "ow..."
London nodded, finishing her dinner in silence. She was hopeful now, that James would be alright.Torch sighed in relief. "Hey bud. How are you feeling?" He asked gently.
James slowly opened his eyes and it took a minute for him to recognize him "dad..." He croaked quietly. Everything hurt but that wasn't what scared him he couldn't shift in the bed he couldn't move.Mae came down and smiled "ready? We'll take the car."
Torch smiled and hugged him gently. "James. I was so worried for you. Are you feeling alright?" He asked. London nodded and jumped up, racing out to the car. Damon followed her, and hopped in the other back seat.
James nodded and frowned poking at his legs "I can't feel them though...everything else hurts..."Mae drove to the hospital and stopped at the gift shop so London could pick something out for her brother.
Torch bit his lip, but hid his dismay. "You're so brave James." He said, holding his hand. "The pain will go away, I promise."London got a book for James to read, and a stuffed animal to keep him company, holding her mother's hand and waiting in anticipation to see her brother.
James smiled and leaned back into the pillow "thanks dad...is Loo ok?" He asked worried about his sister "Max broke up with her..."Mae smiled and let her in the room "You two can spend some time together." She pulled Torch out into the hall and hugged him "how bad is it?..."
Torch raised an eyebrow when James said that London and Max had already broken up. But when London came dashing in, he smiled and let them catch up on their own. He hugged Mae back then, and whispered. "Paralyzed waist down."London had leaped on his bed, hugging him tightly. "James!" She cried, dumping the book and teddy bear while they embraced. "I was so worried..."
Mae swallowed and buried her face in his chest crying softly "at least he can still fly?..." She whispered trying to see the positive of this.James hugged her tightly "I didn't want to worry you Loo!..." He sighed not wanting to let go of his sister "Max is stupid...he doesn't know what he's missing!"
Torch held her gently, kissing the top of her head. "Yes. His wings still work quite well." He assured. "But he'll need a wheelchair at school."London half laughed, half sobbed and nodded slowly. "Thank you." She sighed. "I don't know what I would do without you...."
Mae swallowed and nodded "at least it was nothing worse...right? James is still with us and he doesn't seem too upset."James smiled wiping her tears "you'll never have to worry about that!"
Torch nodded. "Exactly." He lifted her chin to look at him, "Hey. It'll be alright, ok? The best thing for him right now is to treat him as if nothing is wrong. Pitying or coddling him will make him feel worse. We can get through this." He promised. London nodded slowly, hugging him tightly once more before pulling away and grabbing the book. "This is for you." Then she handed him the bear. "And so is this. To keep you company." She said, giving him a small smile.
Mae nodded and gave a small smile "you're right..." She sighed "Zach needs to be fed..."James grinned excited "this is great, thank you Loo!" He hugged her "but I want you to be my company..."
Torch nodded and hugged her. "Alright. I'll let you go do that then." He said softly. London smiled. "You're welcome." She said. She lay down beside him then, resting her head on his shoulder. "I'll stay as long as I'm allowed to." She promised. "You have to get better soon so you can come home with me."
Mae kissed him softly "are you ok?..." She took the baby carrier on her arm again.James smiled and nodded "yeah, so we can play!"
Torch nodded. "Just worried." He promised. He managed a small smiled. "It's nothing really. It'll be ok."London nodded and grinned. "Yes! And we can play in the tree house again. And play soccer at school!"
Mae smiled and went to the bathroom to feed Zach, she texted Lexi "I need to talk..."James swallowed "um the doctors say I can't walk ever again..."
Lexi moaned and jerked awake to a buzzing on the nightstand. At first she forgot where she was, and she started trembling all over again, but when she remembered, she tried to force herself to calm, and reach over a shaking hand to pick up the phone. London gasped and she stared at him. "W-what?"
Mae swallowed "Lexi...James is paralyzed...I don't know what to do, I just..."James sighed and shrugged "I get a red wheelchair!"
Lexi fumbled with the button and turned the phone on, reading the last two messages. "Oh no." She breathed. She quickly texted : coming right now. She leaped out of bed and changed into clothes, running downstairs and leaping into the car. London hugged him tight and tried to keep from crying. "This is my fault..."
Mae sighed and went back out to Torch and sat in the waiting room and held his hand "Lexi is coming..."James frowned and hugged her "no it isn't...I should have flew.."
Torch nodded and smiled softly. "Good, she can keep you company."lexi arrived at the hospital and ran in, finding Mae and immediately hugging her. "I'm so sorry!"
London shook her head. "But if you weren't going to get something for me, you wouldn't have fallen at all."
Mae held her tightly and led her to the other waiting room while she sobbed out everything "I just...this wasn't going to be his life...oh my gosh what happened to you?!"James frowned "don't...Loo it isn't your fault, I love you!"
Lexi held her as she cried, feeling awful for her friend. "Let's not talk of me now Mae, this is about James. I'm so sorry to hear that happened." She said, sincere. London shook her head, sobbing. "It was my fault. I love you and I caused you to get hurt... I'll try to heal you!" She said, determined. But London, with the little magic she had as a child, would not have enough to heal him if she tried.
James shook his head and held her hands "I'm ok, I can still fly and that's all I care about ...I need you to act like nothing is wrong..."Mae sighed "what happened Lex...who touched you?"
London bit her lip and nodded slowly. "Alright." She whispered, hugging him. Lexi looked away and sighed. "It wasn't Damon. If that's what you're asking." She said softly.
Mae frowned "were you...a slave?" She whispered "where is Taylor?..."James looked up and saw Max "what are you doing here?"
Lexi bit her lip and nodded slowly. "I was." She agreed, not looking at her friend. "They put Taylor in a nursery in New York. We haven't gotten around to getting her back yet." She said softly. "Her and I were taken yesterday morning. Damon got me back last night." She explained. Max bit his lip and shuffled in. "I came to see how you were doing. I saw you fall... and I wanted to check on London too." He whispered.
London moved so she was on the other side of James, and keeping him inbetween her and Max.
Mae covered her mouth and hugged her friend close "Torch will go and get her...I can't believe that happened to you guys "James sighed "London is heart broken...I'm paralyzed and still want to be your friend but...you hurt Loo."
Lexi hugged her back, closing her eyes. "Thank you so much. I'm still recovering but we're alright now." She said softly.Max looked at him sympathetically and nodded. "Sorry to hear about your legs." He said softly. "And I'm sorry London, for hurting you. Can we still be friends?"
London bit her lip and watched him for a moment, then she nodded slowly. "Alright." She whispered, still a little nervous.
Damon waited and he saw Lexi come out, a shell...he careened to her immediately and took her in his arms "Lex..."
