Torch nodded, shocked. "We have strong kids."London nodded, hugging him tightly. "Dont ever go." She urged.
Lexi smiled and nodded. "She'll be coming soon." She said softly.
Mae nodded and looked at Zach "beautiful children..." She smiled at the twins "get home and get some rest you still have school tomorrow!"James nodded and smiled at his mom "get better?"
Damon grinned "I can hardly wait! She'll be so perfect..."
Torch smiled, joy radiating in him. He had a family he loved with all his heart.London nodded in agreement. School, now that was a scary subject to consider. What would it be like?
Lexi smiled. "You dont have long to wait now Damon. There are no issues, but I feel her moving. Id give her a couple of days." She said, rubbing her stomach.
Mae smiled and kissed Torch softly "get them home and ready for school tomorrow!"James smiled at her "it'll be fun! Demetri will be there too!"
Damon grinned excitedly and kissed her lovingly "I'm going to go pick up Dem."
Torch nodded and saluted. "Yes ma'am." he said, kissing her forehead. "Get better for me, ok?" Then he turned to the kids. "let's go. We need you in bed early to be ready for school!"London nodded, but she was nervous. "I hope so." Taking off into the air she followed Torch out and back to their house.
Lexi nodded in agreement. "Alright. I'll drive back to the house then." She said, slipping the keys from his pocket as she kissed his cheek. "See you in a few."
Mae smiled and nodded hugging each of the twins "have fun so you can tell me all about it ok?"James nodded and smiled "I'll take care of Loo! Promise!"
Damon took her hand and kissed it "be safe?"
Torch smiled. "See you soon Mae." He promised, leading the kids back to their house.London tightly held James's hand the whole way.
Lexi nodded and smiled. "Always. Now go get our son." She said, pushing him a little as she grinned and walked down the hall to the front door.
James grinned when he saw that the tree house was complete and just how he imagined it! "Dad it's the best thing ever!"Damon laughed and headed down into hell heading towards Lukas' cave "knock knock."
Torch smiled. "Well I'm glad you like it. You both can play in it after school tomorrow." He promised. Despite her nervousness, London's eyes lit up. "Alright! Let's go to bed now so tomorrow will come quicker!"
Dem heard his father and jumped up from the puzzle he was working on, running over to him and leaping on him in delight. "Dad!"
Lexi got in the car and drove off down the road. Taylor took the opportunity to kick, hard, and Lexi winced, rubbing her stomach. "Hang on little girl. It's almost time." She promised as she arrived back at the house.
James grinned and hugged his dad tightly "goodnight dad!" He handed him his teddy "so you don't get lonely without mom..." He explained Damon grinned and picked him up holding him closely "hey! Did you have fun? Were you good?"
Torch smiled, warmed by the soft heart of his son. "Thanks James." he said, kissing his son's head. "Now off to bed you two!" He kissed London's cheek before shooing them both up the stairs. After they had gone, he hugged the bear and sighed. Dem nodded enthusiastically. "I was good! I promise."
Lukas smiled and nodded in agreement. "I don't mind watching him at all." He assured. "He isn't an ounce of trouble."
Lexi slipped out of the car and hobbled into the house, pausing at the door to catch her breath as she unlocked it. Once she got inside, she drank a glass of water and went straight to bed, curling up on her side, her hand on her stomach.
James crawled into his bed and yawned "goodnight Loo...I love you, don't be scared..."Damon smiled "thank you Luk...he may be here more often, when he starts to get his powers...were having a baby girl and I worry you know?"
London nodded slowly. "Love you too." She turned over, and then whispered. "I'll try not to be. Lukas nodded in understanding. "That is just fine with me." he promised. "I remember you being that age too, you know." He reminded, smiling.
Damon grinned a little and shrugged "I've gotten better!" He held his son close and smiled "ready to see mom?" Mae rested in bed completely exhausted she felt pain and the doctors wouldn't let her sleep since she was a 'zombie' in their eyes.
Dem nodded eagerly. "Yes! I haven't seen her all day. Is she alright?" He asked him. "Has my sister come yet?"Torch checked on the kids once before flying to the hospital to check on Mae before he tried to go to bed.
Damon smiled "not yet, maybe in a couple of days!" He flew them up to the house and tucked him in before going to Lexi "hey...are you in pain?"Mae smiled and held him close "are you ok? Is that Jame's teddy bear?"
Lexi opened one eye when he came in, but didn't move on the bed. She just nodded slowly and closed her eyes again. Torch nodded, snuggling with her. "Yup. You?" Then he smiled. "Yeah. He gave it to me so that I wouldn't be lonely."
Damon picked her up carefully "come on it's time to go to the hospital...Dem! Get your shoes on it's time for your baby sister to come!"Mae smiled "so sweet...I'm feeling better, Zach is off of his stomach pump "
Lexi winced, but stayed quiet, leaning into him. Her guts felt like they were tied in knots. Hold on Lexi. She told herself. You can do this.Dem leaped out of bed and ran to hi parents, his eyes flying to his mother in worry.
Torch smiled. "Well that is progress." he agreed. "I am so glad to hear you are both doing well."
Damon quickly drove them to the hospital and to the maternity ward. He rubbed her shoulders "Lex I need you to talk to me baby!"Mae smiled and kissed his cheek "me too...I'm glad that your crazy idea didn't work!"
Lexi shook her head slowly, pinching her lips into a thin line. She was trying very hard not to groan. "It hurts." She managed to whisper.Torch smiled sheepishly. "It did... kinda." He said, kissing her cheek. "I love you."
Damon frowned and helped her get changed into the gown as the nurse checked her "6 centimeters."Damon massaged her back "shhh they are going to get you an epidural!"
Mae smiled and nuzzled him "I love you more...will the kids be ok at school?"
Lexi's head was swimming, and this time she actually did let out a small moan. She gripped his arm to try and stay upright as the world spun. "Hurry up!" She gasped. Torch nodded. "They will be, I'm sure." He promised. "Dem will be there as well. They'll make friends together."
Damon quickly called a nurse to get the epidural, they inserted it and Damon cuddled with her on the bed "hey...you are doing great.."Mae smiled and sighed "I'll miss their first day of school..."
Lexi gasped and then sighed in relief, crawling into the hospital bed with him. She moaned and shook her head against his chest. "Can't do this..." She whispered. Torch smiled sympathetically. "I'll send you pics and a video, and come tell you about it, ok?" he promised.
Damon rubbed her back "yes you can...you can do this honey...think about Taylor..."Mae smiled and nodded "make sure James combs his hair and London looks cute!"
Lexi nodded slowly, closing her eyes. "I'm trying." She whispered. She reached down for his hand and gripped it. "Gosh Damon." She whispered. "I'm scared."Torch nodded, "Will do." He promised. "I've got it under control."
Damon stroke her hand "is the pain easing at all?" He stroke her stomach lovingly "what can I do?"Mae smiled and kissed him "I know you do...I just miss being home already!"
Lexi nodded, wincing again. "It is. Slowly." She told him honestly. "I don't think there is much we can do until the contractions start." She said honestly, chewing her lip. Torch held her close. "I know." He said gently. "Get well soon, and I'll bring you home again." He promised. "I'd take you now, but the doctors know how to care for you and Zach better than I do."
Damon kissed her softly and had Demetri come in "hey son...come lay by mom." He set him on his lap and smiled "in a couple of hours we'll have your sister..."Mae nodded and sighed "I know...but it's hard, they are human!"
Dem smiled happily. "Really!?" Then he looked at Lexi seriously and lay a hand on her shoulder "Are you alright Mom?"Lexi nodded, managing a smile despite the strong cramping in her gut. "Yes, I'm alright." She reached out a hand to stroke his cheek. "Taylor should be here soon. And I'll be happy when she comes."
Dem nodded in understanding. "Take care of her, ok Dad?" he said seriously, trying to be grown up.
Torch nodded and sighed. "You don't have to remind me. But I think they are doing a good job." He smiled and kissed her forehead. "I wouldn't leave you with them otherwise."
Damon chuckled and nodded "I will son, she is safe in my hands...there's a book in my bag for you to read Dem!"Mae nodded "I know...I just don't like being stuck in one place."
Dem nodded in satisfaction, and then his eyes lit up and he ran over to grab the book and start reading. Lexi smiled despite her pain and kissed Damon's chin. "He's quite the charmer. Just like you." She teased.
Torch sighed, kissing her gently. "And I wish I could just stay here with you, but they're going to kick me out in a couple of minutes."
Damon chuckled and smoothed back her hair "what are you feeling?"Mae sighed "I wish you could go invisible like me..."
Lexi grimacd. "Like im waiting for something horrible to start. The suspense is terrible! Why does labor have to take so long ? Why cant it just be like two minutes of intense pain and then its over? Like seriously." She complained, rambling on not because she was annoyed, but because she was trying to stiffle her fear.Torch sighed. "I wish you could come home sooner. But I have to go back to watch the kids, remember?" He smiled and kissed her cheek.
Damon smiled and held her close "it's going to be just fine...the pain will go away and you'll have a beautiful baby girl in your arms..."Mae nodded and smiled kissing him "goodnight Alex...see you tomorrow?"
Lexi nodded hopefully, and closed her eyes tight. That was when the first contraction hit and she tensed and groaned, panting. "Little girl. Our little girl." She said through gritted teeth. "That is the only reason I'm doing this!"Torch smiled at her fondly, liking her use of his real name. "Goodnight. Ill come visit after I drop off the kids for school." He assured.
Damon started to rub her back and sides "breaths honey...in and out..."Mae nodded and smiled "lots of pictures!" She yawned and started to fall asleep "goodnight...love you."
Lexi pursed her lips and tried to take deep breaths, deep breaths that were interrupted by a cry of pain from the second contraction.Torch nodded. "I promise. Night, Mae." He said softly, smiling as he left her.
James woke up excited and pulled his clothes on and gently shook London "first day of school!"Damon worked with her all night trying to keep her calm and breathe through the contractions.
London groaned and pulled her blanket over her head. "Five more minutes..." She moaned. The doctor sat at the end of the bed, waiting to receive the child. After hours of labor, it was almost over. "Push!" He encouraged.
Lexi was on her last thread of energy, drenched in a cold sweat and just wishing it to be over. She grit her teeth and strained with all she had left in her as their daughter slid out and took her first breath.
James grinned looking for his lucky comb "don't want to be late!" He urged and ran downstairs "morning dad!"Damon felt this amazing powerful emotion when he heard Taylor cry. He wiped up her brow and kissed her lips "good job precious..."
Torch already had cereal and bowls out for them. "Morning James. You all ready?"London sighed softly and got dressed for school, making sure to brush out her hair. Her heart was pounding in nervousness now, and she swallowed slowly.
Lexi sighed and relaxed on the bed, a shaky smile growing on her lips. She was trembling all over from exhaustion, but it was worth it, she had a daughter. She smiled at Damon. "Where is Taylor?" She asked hopefully.
James nodded excitedly "it's like mom said! A new fun adventure!" He waited for London before he started to eat "she's scared dad..."Damon smiled "getting her cleaned and measured..." He pecked her lips and went and took his perfect little girl and put her in her arms.
Torch smiled. "Yes! You'll have a lot of fun." He promised. "That's normal. Just be there for London, she'll warm up. And no power or wings around the other kids!" He said seriously. London took a deep breath and finally went downstairs, pouring herself a bowl of cereal.
Lexi waited patiently for Taylor and when she saw her in Damon's arms, she almost burst into tears. She eagerly took the small girl and smiled down at her. "Hey baby girl." She whispered.
James smiled and sat by his sister, he gave her a little keychain "for good luck today!"Damon smiled down at his two girls and kissed Lexi lovingly "is she worth the pain?..." He took Taylor's tiny hand and caressed it.
London smiled softly and kissed his cheek. "Thank you." She said, finished up. Torch nodded. "Alright. In the car! It's time to go!"
Lexi nodded, not able to take her eyes of their daughter. "Yes. Yes this is worth the pain." She whispered.
James grinned excited, he had never been in the car before. He bounced not having his seatbelt on.Damon smiled "can we bring Demetri in?"
Torch nodded, making sure they had lunches and backpacks. "Seatbelts! Let's go!" He said, starting the car. London sat beside James, and slipped in her belt before looking out the window.
Lexi nodded. "Yes, he can come in now, and see his little sister."
James watched amazed and hugged her again "then I'll just stay..."
Damon felt a strong kick and chuckled "Taylor is getting strong!"
