How about this for a cast of a new film being made now

Big Finish

jerry Lewis (89 years old)
Debbie Reynolds (84 years old)
Don Rickles(90 years old)
Tim Conway(83 years old)
Bob Newhart(87 years old)
and a young Mary Tyler Moore (79 years old)

Hope it gets made

That is my biggest fear if Bernie does not get the nod. I will vote for whomever is the anti-Republican. However, I fear that many of Bernie's voters will not vote. I also feel that Bernie is more electable. (1) Bernie wins blue states not red ones which are the ones that will vote Democrat, (2) Bernie wins caucuses versus primaries which means his message resonates, (3) they same percentage of voters distrust Hillary as dislike Trump (60%), (4) Bernie is always on message - he as been giving this message since he was a mayor.

Regardless, you must go out and VOTE! Libertarian or liberal, conservative or progressive, you must vote.

In our last congressional primary for my county, 30,000 of 100,000 registered voters actually voted. More people will vote in a presidential primary than the lower positions unfortunately. I personally believe your local and state officials have more impact on your daily life.

Sorry, I'll get off my perch now.

I wish I could claim credit for the origin of the phrase "ReThuglican," but I can't. The phrase has been in existence since at least 2012.

Kirsten, unfortunately I have come to the following conclusion: "You have no right to b***h about your government and expect it to do anything to CHANGE the government's direction if you don't vote, but on the other; given the political climate, you STILL have no right to b***h about your government and expect it to do anything to change the government's direction even if you DO vote because YOUR vote no longer counts, if it ever did! The ONLY votes that count are from "people" like Hobby Lobby , the Kochs and/or Exxon-Mobil."

This song is appropriate for the mood I'm n because of this topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdSqL...

Knock on wood, Christine. I've had allergies since I was a kid (probably born with them). When the Russian olive trees bloom around here, it's hell on earth. (In fact, I don't believe they were in the Garden of Eden.)

Though, I feel lucky. Many of my allergies went away after adulthood. And I became better able to deal with them. My sister, who had fewer allergies as a kid, now has many intolerances. I wouldn't trade lives with her EVER!

Vera (Estante da Vera) (estantedavera) | 82 comments Is it okay if I ramble a little bit here? I just need to get this ouf of my chest.

I am a smart, intelligent, independent woman, and yet, all people care about is how I look. They don't care that I speak two languages and I'm learning a third one, or that I have a vast knowledge of music and pop culture, or that I've been working for the same agency for the last fourteen years. All they care is that I'm not pretty or sexy or skinny.

I shouldn't let this bother me but it does. And it sucks.

Thanks for the space to vent. Hugs!

Diane Lynch (dianedesmarrstlynch) | 306 comments Vera you are noticed and appreciated by the right people I hope. Meaning the ones that matter. People who are shallow and superficial should be irrelevant to an accomplished person like yourself. I'm sure you know this and just wanted to vent.

Amber Martingale If it makes you feel better, every woman in this video has been called overweight by Americans:, even though non-idiot American males prefer women who LOOK like real women, not "super model" stick figures: Celtic Woman - A New Journey - Mo Ghile Mear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6b9x...

I suspect most of the vitriol comes from jealous American women who are insecure about their bodies...in other words, every single American woman who has bought into the hype of the so-called "beauty" mags... .

I'm annoyed because I've double checked today and for reasons only known to Goodreads, it's not picking up one of my books that I've read this year. Can't think why. I've marked it as read, reviewed it but it's missing off my 'read' shelf. Heck people, every book counts! Any ideas? What am I missing?

I agree with Amber. A lot of times it's said out of jealousy. And in your case, Vera, jealousy because you're bilingual, successful, and obviously intelligent. Good for you!

Jean | 2387 comments Hugs back, Vera! I'd like to say that "those people" don't matter, that if they don't want to know you, it's their loss. But if they are people you need to impress to get a job or a promotion or something else that's important to you, then that's painful and hard to accept (and discriminatory but difficult to prove). Better to have a few caring, trusted loved ones than many acquaintances who do not value you for who you truly are.

Not pretty? Your profile photo certainly disputes that claim, Vera. Besides, beauty is transient, intelligence is forever.

Love your last comment and the new picture!!!!! So cute. Which kitty is that?

Was just thinking, and laughing to myself, I wish David and I would have bought a Tiny House........and leased a large storage area. lol. We have been renovating ourselves to death. House looks absolutely great. I knew it was a diamond in the rough. Just unloved and empty for the past couple years.

Remember, we loved this one from the moment we saw it on Zillow. Good choice. It's a happy home.

One of the downfalls is that I have a severe carpal tunnel problem. Will wait to have surg on it next month. We want the upstairs to be all painted and new.......and hopefully, the media room. I need to paint and then heal quickly. I have hooking waiting for me!!! Oh yeh.......we have trees to plant and landscaping to do. Better work faster.

My reading is suffering. And I have lost 10#, but that's due to joining WW. If Oprah can do it........I can do it. I sure miss chatting with my GR buddies!!!!!
Xoxoxoxoxox
P.S. If you cannot tell ----- I am sooooooo much happier in MO!

I have heard crumpling up a brown paper bag (resembling a wasp nest) helps. Also cucumber slices (but who wants rotting vegetation in their mailbox?).

Point one. It was intentional.
Point two. More important things to worry about in life than my occasional 'casual' speak on a public forum.

message 7998: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Ehhh..if it was intentional, I can't really call you on it, can I? Don't answer, please. That was rhetorical. *s*

It was either that, or try to annoy you with a metal guitar version of Scotland the Brave, Janet. *wink* As it is, anyone who says Classical music is boring has never heard this version of the Imperial March: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEuBP...
