Kirsten (kmcripn) oooh!!! Just Googled empire biscuits! They look nummy! What kind of jam do you put in them?

message 6517: by Patricia (new)

Patricia | 1266 comments Been working hard around the house. Due to storms, we got a new roof and had our deck repaired and painted. I decided the rest of the house (inside) needed to be cleaned up and have been on a tear. Cleaning out closets, donating old clothes, books, snd so many other hobby items I can never accomplish. I'm thinking of getting that Japanese book on decluttering!

message 6518: by Sue (new)

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments Wow Pat. I need to do the same! You are my inspiration.

message 6519: by Patricia (new)

Patricia | 1266 comments I really am not an inspiration! Thanks for the kind words. I'm thinking about how much stuff we have and anytime I want something, I can't find it! I told my husband if I start watching Hoarders I'll really kick into high gear!

Pat, can I borrow you !!

My wife has jut done a complete clean, hoover, polish, wash everything, Sunday is our only day we have time.

And sister- in law arriving tonight, and staying with us for 7days.

Up till late last night again watching Murray slaughter Nishikori in the semi-final (who had beaten Nadal in the quarter for the first time) 6-3 6-0 !!

Sadly Djokovic in the final again

Sharon Mccall Christine wrote: "Oh my, Sharon. I googled empire biscuits as well. I LOVE shortbread! Yes, what kind of filling are you using?"

I used strawberry jam and hundreds and thousands on top as I don't like cherries. Empire biscuits are a bit more buttery than shortbread but have to say they have turned out well

I am not sure I can move my legs anymore - PT today involved flipping tyres weighted lunges and box jumps among other things before I went off and played hockey in a very warm sun

got murray and agent carter on the telly and I am closing this down I think to work on my cross stitch and chill

ok I remember someone said they had an interview on Friday - how did it go?

I have sold on Etsy and don't want the hassle. Goodwill appreciates the donations and I want to keep it easy. Still in my hyper phase so going strong. Attacking my crafts - good grief, how many quilt patterns have I saved? And beading? And cross-stitch? At least I don't knit!!

Amber Martingale Never heard of Empire biscuits.

What was I up to all weekend? St. Matthew's UMC (that's United Methodist Church to those of you unfamiliar with the abbreviation) Community Meal on Saturday. The menu was Fried chicken, mac & cheese, corn, rolls, margarine and dessert bar, including at least ONE sugar free apple pie. The drinks available, as usual were lemonade, coffee (reg/decaf), water, sweet tea (iced) and unsweetened tea (iced) as well as a bout a half dozen types of hot tea if you wanted that instead of coffee. Instead of the usual four clothing items for free, we got to get a whole grocery bag full of clothes at the church thrift store since they WERE trying to get rid of the summer clothes.

Don't ask about Sunday. I wish I had slept most of Sunday because I didn't get to sleep this morning until 1/4 to 4 AM local time and my freaking BLADDER woke me up an hour before the alarm on my cell phon ewas set to go off.

I'm just catching up with the thread. That sounds like a great idea Sue as my husband is a bit of a hoarder too and it drives me crazy. If something is buried in the garage he just buys another because he knows it would take an age to find it. :)

As you can my first day after a week with family over, busy every day.

Sharon Mccall just a quick wee catch up while I have a chance :) not really been on computer too much as ive been so busy at work and been very uninterested in logging on at home at night. still been going to gym - no strength wods this week but did manage 30kg for my thrusters on Thursday night for the WOD which was about 2.5kg more than I would normally use (actually for thrusters probably about 5kg if I honest I usually go as light as I can with this one lol) still managed the workout in under 20minutes so yeah go me :)

had induction day for my faculty's new students on the Friday so was a mega busy day but this week coming they officially commence the new full time classes so it will be all go!

Saturday saw me and the buster boy down the beach no running cos my ankle was a bit tight from hockey on sunday still so we just did a 2.5 mile walk although I did embarrass him at one point when I started singing and dancing to one of the songs on my ipod - he will get over it what he hasn't forgiven me for is losing his tennis ball!! well he should have paid more attention to the direction in which I threw it

today was personal training and after last week when I struggled to walk properly til weds this week its my arms that are going to be the problem!! Atlas stones, sprints, sumo deadlifts, kettlebell swings, goblet squats and a 600m row all featured in todays torture

decision has been made by me that I will giving up my hockey sticks and hanging up my hockey shoes as I am really suffering with my tendonitis after the games. I had managed over the summer to reduce the pain of this but I think wearing shin pads and having my movement limited by this is aggravating it and to be honest the thought of another season playing in the wind rain snow and cold is not appealing.

hope everyone is doing well and I will hopefully return to normal service soon :)

PS still managing to find time to read tho
