Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments @ DA, If it makes you feel better, DA, it will take me 42 years to read mine, and I'm not 30, lol.

@Perri, I cannot tell you how wildly jealous I am!!!

Patricia | 1266 comments Christine wrote: "Hmmm, to finish my 2383 books, I will have to live to 112. I wonder if I should cut a few..."

You might want to cut down on a few. I'm trying to focus on who I know and have read before and a few less new authors. Can't keep up and time is passing and yes, I know I'll be adding more to the list.

Sandysbookaday (taking a step back for a while) (sandyj21) | 5101 comments I think I will be saying...."But I can't possibly die yet - I have all these books to read. Just book me in as "overdue" and fine me!"

DA - I love it!! Cut out the dross! I seem to run into too much of that and need to make it more do-able. And, yes, try to minimize buying.

Agree with Christine - jealous you are so organized with your reading.

Perri | -43 comments I haven't gotten into Net reading or whatever that is to reduce temptation :)

message 6459: by Patricia (new)

Patricia | 1266 comments Perri - good plan! I've cut way back on Netgalley. I feel too much pressure with it and my reading is for me only.

I've just returned from two weeks in Spain where the temperature hit 42 degrees c in the first week so I'm happy to come back to a moderate 20 degrees in Manchester. Time to get some work done I think. :)

Thanks Janet. Yes, I'm definitely one for staying in the shade as much as possible especially since I always get a red itchy rash whenever I'm anywhere hot. It's lovely to dip into a tepid pool whenever you feel like it though, and to walk out in the evening without having to wear a coat - ahh bliss. :)

I get a rash on my forearms whenever I am in the sun for a long period too!! Which sucks because I like being in the sun and on the beach!! Glad you are back to cooler temps!

Thanks Lorrea. I was glad of the reprieve from the extreme heat until I heard the rain hammering on my porch this afternoon. I don't suppose I'll every be satisfied. 20 - 25 degrees celcius and dry with a light balmy breeze suits me but that's rare in most countries. :)

Amber Martingale As of yesterday, while I was brushing my teeth prior to church, I found a FOURTH bone chip in the socket where my extracted tooth was until July 31st.

Hi guys! I've got my first interview on Friday, my first in 6 years since I've been off with my children. Bit nervous to say the least!

message 6484: by E. (new)

E. | 653 comments Congrats on interview!
A few years ago I had quite a few interviews when changing jobs. I nailed them all, by practicing answering interview questions. I googled "interview questions" and practiced answering them out loud. I got called back by all of them!
Good luck!

Good luck Kimberley!! I just went through the same thing myself earlier this year. I feel a lot calmer at work then I did home with the kids all day, but a also feel a little guilty!

Amber Martingale Uh...today's the 11th and the threads for next month aren't up yet in the PIFM section.

message 6496: by [deleted user] (new)

I know what you mean Lorrea... I also feel the guilt.. but I also know I have been very fortunate to be able to be a stay-at-home-mum as my partner could support us financially.. but my boys are now 6, I'd like to do something for me.. I'm just applying for a part time job.. I need to be able to take my kids/pick them up from school some times... so hopefully some shift work will work out. :)

Just back, now 9.15 in the evening, back from work 5.45, at tennis 6.00

Nearly 3 hours on court home after a great mixed doubles. Quick tea, quick drop in here then to bed to finish my book, that I only started yesterday lunchtime !!

Just brilliant, number 3 in the Beatrice Rose Trilogy by Mark Dawson !!

Last chapter, one of the best books read ever !!, and also best 3 books !!

I was the same way. My husband worked 2 jobs to support us and I was able to stay home with the kids. My youngest is starting school this year, he will be able to put them on the bus and I will be home in time to get them off. I work 4 days a week for 5 hours a day.
