Laurel Question,

A friend of mine was giving me some suggestions for a short story that I've been working on, and he told me that editors no longer like to see two spaces after a period ending a sentence. (He's published and has experience in these things, so I trust his Obi Wan knowledge). Am I out of the loop. When did this happen?

On a related note, I'm old enough to have taken typing in school and find I cannot break myself of the habit. Although, I guess I will have to try?!

message 2855: by Laurel (new)

Laurel PS - I typed that entry with two spaces after the periods. Goodreads autocorrected me?!?!

Dogs and cats, living together!

message 2856: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Type it how you type it, and then when you're done, do a find and replace to make 2 spaces into one space each.

Also, I totally read "Obi Wan Ke-nowledge".

message 2857: by Laurel (new)

Laurel See, that would have been WAY wittier. I bow down to you, as well ;)

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2976 comments At work we have an annual biometric screening as part of our health insurance.

For the last two years, when they took my height, they said I was 5'1".

The first year I was skeptical, and thought it was just a mistake.

The second year I thought maybe I'd been wrong all this time, and I actually had that extra inch.

But this year...

This year they took it away!

They took away my inch!

I never really trusted the inch. It, like the cake, was a lie...

*snort*

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2976 comments Always glad to see people appreciate birthdays.

So many people I work with are all like, "I don't celebrate birthdays 'cause I'd rather whine about being old. Waaaa!"

Agreed.

I'm going out, eating a great meal, enjoying the company of friends and drinking good drinks. Unless someone brings a bitch along, the night should be great!

On the day before my b-day we're going to a comedy show. Laughs! :-D
