Laurel wrote: "I think I'm the only human left who hasn't tried Candy Crush..."Stay stong, Laurel!
It's addictive because it's so easy to play and it ends up sucking too many hours of your time. :(
Until yesterday, I had a $20 phone for the last 2 years. I was given an iphone for work (after holding out against it for a long time) but I will resist downloading anything like Candy Crush lol.
Chris, I'm not sure. I haven't downloaded any music yet, only books. I just know for Google books I can find them under Play Books. But, for the Kindle books I can see the covers, but can't read them unless I'm connected to wi-fi.ETA: Are you trying it from the Play Music app?
I wish I was as strong as you non-Crushers. I'll probably end up deleting these off of here soon - I'm not linked in with the facebook, so I have nobody to give me help and or lives, so when I get stuck, I'll get annoyed and just delete them. LOL
Yeah, using the Play Music app....It's just odd that one is there and not the other. I figured it would be one way or the other. On the Kindle app, I found that if I open a book on the wi-fi, it downloads and I can later open that book when I'm not in range.
Chris wrote: "On the Kindle app, I found that if I open a book on the wi-fi, it downloads and I can later open that book when I'm not in range."Yes, that's how it should work with any reader - you're not streaming it, it's on the device, so you can access it from anywhere even if there's no internet connection.
I've used the Play Music app on my phone, but only to play music I sideloaded, not downloaded. But I don't know why it would be streaming - it should have downloaded as normal.
Maybe try deleting it and re-downloading (you shouldn't have to pay again if you download from the cloud), then turn off the wifi and see if you can play it.
Colleen wrote: "Laurel wrote: "I think I'm the only human left who hasn't tried Candy Crush..."Not the only one..."
Agreed
Chris wrote: "On the Kindle app, I found that if I open a book on the wi-fi, it downloads and I can later open that book when I'm not in range. "Oh, you're right. I've downloaded quite a few, but have only opened one and that book I can read.
Ugh. Do you guys ever post in a topic, then completely forget which group it was in? I posted about me and my brother's collaboration project, now I can't remember where that topic is for the life of me lol.
I have the kindle app on my phone and my nook, and I've never had any trouble with either one. Sideloading is super easy (you just email a mobi file attachment to the kindle email address associated with the device), and as long as you have authorized the email address you're sending from (via your Amazon account), it'll automatically load the book to the app when you have internet connection. The app will show you all of the books you've purchased in the cloud, and all of the ones that you've downloaded to the device. I usually only keep 1 or 2 on my phone at a time to save space. The nook isn't quite so memory-strapped. LOL
What I really like about the app is that if you have the same book on multiple devices, it will sync between them. Read 3 pages on your phone while waiting in line at the grocery store? When you get home and pick up your nook, it will ask if you want to sync to your last location. AWESOME.
Luke wrote: "Ugh. Do you guys ever post in a topic, then completely forget which group it was in? I will look at my homepage, scope out the threads with updates, click on one, and during the loading process, I will forget which one I went to first and confuse myself when I expected something different. LOL
I just completed level 419 on candy crush after 4 days. I hate this game lol and like Becky I haven't linked it to facebook so I've no help.
The Nook app syncs the pages too. On the phone at least. It's funny, it'll pick up my progress from the Nook Dinosaur, but won't update the old thing.I have the Kindle app on the phone too, though I haven't tried syncing with the new Nook because well. I haven't read anything.
Gerard wrote: "I just completed level 419 on candy crush after 4 days. I hate this game lol and like Becky I haven't linked it to facebook so I've no help."O_O Goodness, Gerard! I'm right around level 130 something. After MONTHS.
I need to delete this game.
Chris, that's good to know. I didn't know the nook app synced too. I don't really use the nook app. I don't like it as much.
Laurel wrote: "I think I'm the only human left who hasn't tried Candy Crush..."Thankfully my old iTouch can't install it. :)
Gerard wrote: "I just completed level 419 on candy crush after 4 days. I hate this game lol and like Becky I haven't linked it to facebook so I've no help."Good god man lol. How much have you spent on it?
Gerard wrote: "I've paid nothing, i'm just a stubborn git lol."Nice, that's how my wife does it too. It makes it nice and challenging lol.
I'm do everything in overkill whether its reading, tv shows, sport or whatever. Then when i'm sickened i quit for a period of time lol
Gerard wrote: "I'm do everything in overkill whether its reading, tv shows, sport or whatever. Then when i'm sickened i quit for a period of time lol"I'm exactly the same way. Binge watch/read/play and then as soon as it gets old, start bingeing on the next thing.
Although the hiatus lasts a little longer sometimes. I used to play golf about 6 days a week when i was a student. I quit in 2003 and i wouldnt have played 10 rounds since.
I don't play candy crush BUT I just found this game: Smash Hit: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/smash...OMG. Soooo additive. I've refused to buy the full version so far...so I can't do my check points which SUCKS.
Gerard wrote: "I'm reluctant to check out the link incase its candy crush all over again lol"lol!
No candy, I promise.
You get to smash and break stuff instead. :-D
Regarding music on the Google Nook app-You have to go into your music library on your device and download it from there to use offline.
The Google apps work the same way. You can delete apps from your device but they remain in your possession to download again.
BTW - I got NIN too :)
I found how to do that, Nienna. it acted really weird for a bit but I eventually got the music player set up.

I would just like you to know Mrs. J.. that in the last 24 hours, all three of my children and myself have become addicted to this game! I not only purchased the full version for myself, but for my youngest son as well.
You may have expanded your empire from not only "book pusher" but also "game pusher" :)

lolol!! That full version does look good.
I've played a few games, get addicted for a bit, and then get bored. Probably why I never made a good gamer. I tried an RPG back in high school, but got bored trying to level before I ever got high enough to do anything interesting. Jer, otoh, has been playing WoW for 8 years, and I see him do his raids and farming and grinding for stuff, and I don't know how he hasn't wanted to dig his own brain out yet. (He says 'cause it keeps being a new game with the patches but, for me, it's all just hitting buttons.)But because I know I get bored eventually, it's easier for me to resist the initial temptation. Especially if there's money involved...

I basically did nothing else that entire year. I'm glad I eventually got frustrated with it, or I'd still be wasting my life.
It's probably the same part of me that doesn't like these multi-book epic series... I keep waiting for things to be interesting...
Four year old wanders by and asks what should we do. Play a game? No. Watch a movie? No. Play some cars? No. Dance? He looks at me and smiles and says YES!Thomas D'Arcy Credit

I did put Words for Friends on it, though.
And yes, Jackie. I've been on Google Play. But here's my question. I "bought" two free songs, one from NIN and one from Weezer. Played both fine.
I get to work where there's no wi-fi, and I can play the NIN song but the Weezer doesn't show up. Does it d/l or stream from Google Play?
Also put HBO Go on there and watched a Steve Harvey special.
