Ice Cream Origin (Lux, #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout You've given five stars to the first three in the series
Jellybean Crossing Borders (Crossing Borders, #1) by Z.A. Maxfield I'd been looking at this author for a school project
Potato Chips Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead from your TBR or The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires (Half Moon Hollow, #1) by Molly Harper which made me laugh
Pretzel The Boy with the Painful Tattoo (Holmes & Moriarity, #3) by Josh Lanyon New

Thanks for picking for me-good choices! I'm thinking I'll read the
Once Upon a Tartan (MacGregor Trilogy, #2) by Grace Burrowes or Forged in Fire (Red-Hot SEALs, #1) by Trish McCallan or Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison . I recently discovered Burrowes and have been working my way through her stories. Love the cover on Forged and Dragon Bound has been recommended to me a few times so I should move it towards the top. I'll see what I can get a hold of.

message 266: by Erin (new)

Erin (dindrane) My first time doing this! So exciting!

I've included 4 from the "to-read" shelf, and 4 "new" picks, that weren't on that list... I hope that's correct. :) If not, I'm happy to re-pick of course.

Sweet and Gooey:
Chocolate Truffles – Zorro So, SO good.
Ice Cream – Guards! Guards! This is one of my comfort reads, and the start of a mini-series that is the best of all Discworld. I saw that you'd read Going Postal and were a bit lukewarm about it, but I think you'll really like Guards! Guards! ... or I hope!
Jellybeans – Absolution by Murder You like Cadfael, so you may like Sister Fidelma.

Salty and Crunchy:
Potato Chips (betcha can’t eat just one!) – Captain Alatriste --This series is amazing! Perez-Reverte is a favorite of mine.
Pretzels – Oh Danny Boy
Mixed Nuts – Morrigan's Cross The only real "romance" on this list... oops. Time Travel!

Combination:
Trail Mix – Nature Girl
Bacon Sundae (don't knock it until you've tried it...) - You don't seem to have much travel in your "read" list, but you seem to like clever writing, intelligent authors, and humor, so I'm going to recommend the following: In a Sunburned Country, which is hysterical and educational in one. :)

Roxy, thanks for the picks. I have read and rated
Night Film by Marisha Pessl and Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri . :-)

I disliked The Casual Vacancy so much that I'm very wary of J.K. Rowling's latest efforts, but I'm glad to see you liked it.

I will try to read Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter , Orange is the New Black My Year in a Women's Prison by Piper Kerman , and The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri . Just put all 3 on hold at the library. Thanks again!

Thank you, Erin. These look really great! I have most of these on hand, and can't wait to start them. Now I only have to decide which one to start with first. (Oh, and I have already read 'In a Sunburned Country' one, but so long ago that it isn't posted here because I haven't gone back that far with my 'Read' list yet. But never fear, if I get all the others read, I can always substitute another one of Bryson's, because he is so hilarious, or another travel book.)
