Review

I'm only three books into this series, and I'm already thinking that each one gets better than the last! This one starts off fast, with Harry and a new character, Michael, hunting down a ghost in Cook County Hospital. The action really never lets up from there. I was on the edge of my seat a large majority of the time.

The only negative thing I can say is that I did occasionally feel a little lost, like I had missed a novella or something. The missing backstory was eventually revealed, but it was a little disconcerting for a while to feel like I was missing something. In the end though, I really liked the book and can't wait to read the next one!

I'm sad that I put off reading this series as long as I did! I'm trying to convince my fiance to read this series and also the Iron Druid series. I'm not sure how successful that attempt is going to be though lol.

I've recommended the Iron Druid series to my son. He's probably going to start it soon. I read him a chapter of the third book the other day so he could see if he was interested.
Hubby has no desire to read for relaxation - at least not as much as myself or our son :D Next time he has sleepless nights I'll recommend these to him. I have to make sure I then have them avail in paperback form. I did get him to read Baldacci - he is slowly reading them...like snail pace slow,lol Tiny baby steps I say

I really don't know where to start. I just finished the conclusion to this trilogy and my feelings are all over the place. I read this chunkster of a book in less than 24 hrs because I had to know what happens.(view spoiler)[ Am I upset yes, am I surprised no. Let's face it dystopians don't always end on a happy note. This book almost brought tears to my eyes and I can't believe it went down the way it did. (hide spoiler)]

Review: So this second in the series is Hop and Lanie's story. Let me just say while I love KA books I was not looking forward to Hop's book due to stuff from Tack and Tyra's book. That being said when you find out what really went down - wow his ex wife was a total bitch. Then you begin to understand he's not a total ass. Granted - that does not occur until about 75% into the book and is not "freely shared" shall we say. Lanie is one messed up chick with a whole lot of throwing drama in her. She hasn't gone back into the dating saddle since her ex - fiance got her kidnapped, shot and he was killed approx 7 yrs ago. She decides she wants to proposition Hop for one night of straight up no complication no strings attached sex. Shocker - that is not what she ends up with. Hop decides he's not done with her after one night and so sets us off on their journey. Lanie aggravated me on so many levels. She has the bad habit off opening her mouth and letting the first thing come out instead of maybe asking a question. She has a dysfunctional family along with crap from her childhood that she should have dealt with a long time ago. For all those KA readers this on reminds me of "For You" (which is not a fave of mine at all) in some respects - where stuff has happened and we put our head in the sand for way too many years. Hop - as usual total badass alpha biker dude who can be a total pain in the ass. Then there is the 'friends' who mean well but spill crap they don't know anything about but feel the need to share anyway. This is one of the plot lines I tend to not like but she has this in a lot of her books. Anyway - all in all I enjoyed it more than I thought I would based on whose story it was.

Happy Halloween!! don't know about you all but we have terrible weather today for the kids to trick or treat in. Wish we lived in a town that did trick or treating the weekend before. It was nice out last weekend:(

It's been raining for two days. I checked the rain gage before I went to bed and we were at 5 inches before it rained all night. It's suppose to clear out this afternoon though.

It started raining here yesterday afternoon, and I don't think it's really stopped since then. They're saying it may clear up during the later part of the trick or treating hours, but it's just an icky day overall.

Although I do prefer this to the snow we had last week. I couldn't believe it when I came out of my office and saw that it was snowing. It didn't stick to the ground, but that's not the point!

lol, that certainly sounds about right. I remember I was still wearing my winter coat occasionally this past May.

I think in general, Chicago can sometimes be a little colder because of Lake Michigan, but other than that, the weather is pretty similar. I listen to the Cubs radio station a lot in the summer and the weather forecasts I hear are fairly similar to the ones for my area.

Yep - there is a *boat* (not really - never leaves the dock ☺) in Elgin and another gambling place in Des Plaines I think - it's not really my thing. Having some one scoop away my money with nothing to show - don't like it. I'd rather go out for martinis, a play, or go to the spa... but that may just be me,lol

Review: This book was really kind of slow at places, and that made it a little harder to read. I loved when Laurel was in Avalon, though. It was such a bright and cheery place. On the topic of Team David or Team Tamani....definitely Tamani. He appeals to me (and Laurel, I think) much more.
