week seven: Native american & Boots
book: Secrets of the Moon by Kristy Centeno
finished on 18/10/2013
rating: 4 stars
review: Marjorie had so much going on with her. she was still kind of coping with the accident that she had gotren her friends into and then Kyran comes along and just adds even more to her plate (dont they always?). I liked the way Centeno approached the werewolf topic in this book. even though Marjorie stayed clueless for over half of the book, I was really glad that the author didn't rush Marjorie and Kyran's relationship nor Marjorie being submerged into the supernatural. The "I have a werewolf stalker" was also pretty nice. I would definitely recommend this book.

Review: Tallis Carrington is the senior jock/jackass of the high school. James A Barry aka Lex is the pudgy freshman boy that Tallis picks on the whole year until his family is humiliated and they move away. So what happens when your high school nemesis moves back to town and you're gay and still find him hot as hell. Oh, you've lost the pudginess, he doesn't recognize you at all and applies for a job at your coffee shop?
That is the premise. This was a sweet book and I really enjoyed getting to know both Lex and Tally. Interesting to find out why he was such an asshole. Was awesome watching them fall for each other and then try to find out what this was - real or just some fun? My oh my the author certainly did take me back to all those angsty, crappy feelings of high school with this one. Seems some people never grow out of that stuff - too bad for them. So what is Tally going to do when his old crowd from school start hanging out with him and have no idea he is gay - has been all these years?? Tally and Lex both have some growing to do in this book. I enjoyed the ride and want to find out who the next book will be about... Amy or Drew?? Welcome to Rock Bay!!
Again - thanks for the recommendation Ezi!!
Fireplace pg119 ... on the stove and burning cedar from the fireplace...
Pink pg 81 ....mother's fluffy cream colored towels that were covered with bouquets of pink garden flowers.
Super Bonus - King pg 8 The last thing he needed was something else for the self-proclaimed king of Rock Bay High School and his loyal sycophants to torture him for.
Rain pg 13 It was raining. Again. the kind of rain that fell in large wet drops...
Sun pg 277 ...woke the next morning to sun streaming through blinds ....
School pg 8 The last thing he needed was something else for the self-proclaimed king of Rock Bay High School and his loyal sycophants to torture him for.

EDIT: Only 1 avail from winter besides fireplace but need to see if Dawn ok's the use of the word in the sentence. Off to check in that thread..

Jenne - when I re-read the line that had camp in it - I don't think it would have been accepted. It was a camping chair - not referring to a camp. Used Sun instead.

Its good so far! About 100 pages in. Going to be really reading in it tomorrow when I have time since its kind of a long one.

For my extra item, I can claim coat, king, dad, moon, or prayer. Any preferences on what I go with?

Unfortunately, no. The only other spring word I could do would be Tree.

This was probably my favorite entry in this series so far. It grabbed my attention right from the start and never let go. I'll avoid saying much about the plot because I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't read the series yet. The story picks up shortly after the end of book 4, as Joanna deals with the fallout of her actions. There is a ton of action in this installment, and also some surprises, one in particular that made me want to re-read the first 4 books to see if there were any hints along the way. I love when a book surprises me like that! I'm sad, knowing that the next book is the last one, but at the same time, I'm eager to see how it all turns out!
Items
Fireplace - ...my gaze caught on the fireplace. KL 3560
Bonus Item: Pink - ...poured into hot pink leather cut both too low and too high. KL 186
Flower - ...shattered picture frames, littered flowers - already wilting... KL 1518
Fireworks - ...uses as their fireworks sequence... KL 2559
Leaf - ...Fletcher grumbled as he plucked leaves from a topiary. KL 1991
Extra Item: King - "...my one true love and future king..." KL 201

Review:
I'm very late to the IAD party but let me tell you I love these books. I've read them out of order which I never do but it doesn't seem to be a problem with these. They're perfectly fine as a stand alone. This was a different twist to the PNR genre the heroine is a ghost. I had a very hard time putting this book down and I'll be reading more from this series in the near future.

I really like it! It's fairly dark, but really good!

Weird - I haven't gotten updates from this thread.
That is always a bummer Jenne. At least you had time to swap books. Hope you found all the words you wanted.

Good for you - I don't remember being able to fit in that much reading when I was in school.

claiming Fireplace, Rain, Swimsuit, Pie, and Pink. other words in the book-- snow, hat, flower, planet, sun, grass, school, costume, prayer. not sure if all of those are still available for me though

Review: I remember after I read the first book that I wouldn't be finishing the series, but this has made it so worth it! Christian and Ana (Anastasia is such a nice name) were a wonderful pair. There will never be another Christian, that's for sure. It's been a while since I've had a character that I actually hated and loved. Nice to know I'm not completely crazy yet. *wooh* But I totally recommend this series. Most people probably want to read it because of the whole BDSM thing, but that's really not even the main focus of the story, and I like that.
FIREPLACE - "leather couches surround a stone fireplace" pg 219
RAIN - "sheltering under the awning from the rain" pg 223
SWIMSUIT - "I doubt I'll be able to wear a swimsuit" pg 32
PIE - "white wine and apple pie" pg 310
PINK - "who looks stunning in pale pink" pg 8
SUPERBONUS: SCHOOL - "She's enrolled in art school" pg 351
