I read "He Knew He Was Right" last year. I read reviews that said some thought it was Trollop's best work. I've read quite a few of Trollop's novels. I would say it is close to being the most annoying of his novels. ( "The Eustace Diamonds" is a toss-up for that honor).

I think we could all agree that the book is very long and very tiring.

Just started The Power and the Glory by Graham Greene, the Reading 1001 group's Jan book of the month.
This will be my 9th Graham Greene book, but just my 5th from the 1001 List. he originally had eight and still has five in the latest edition.

I definitely agree. I did enjoy it, but it could have easily lost about 300 pages. I liked Phineas Finn and The Last Chronicle of Barset more.
