When I was a college freshman I was in a department production of Slaughterhouse Five- I was Billy Pilgrim. I don't think I had read any Vonnegut before that but read quite a bit of his work later.

Have you watched the German TV series made by Fassbinder? Good, but quite long. I'm going to read the book some day.
