Started and keep putting aside the hard copy of The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway. Definitely intend to finish it. Hard copies always seem to get pushed aside when I have library books with a return deadline.
Started Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell yesterday. I enjoyed her novel North and South. This is a 1001 Books group read so more people may be posting starting it.

It sounds interesting. Not readily available though. Where did you get your copy?

Rachel (Sfogs) wrote: "Starting On Beauty by Zadie Smith, and The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri soon."I'm going to read On Beauty after I finish "Howards End"
George wrote: "Under the Skin by Dutch- Australian Michel Faber. Described as a horror/scifi/satire."Huh. I read this last summer and I don't think I realized that it was on the 1001 list. Anyway, this was a pretty unsettling read, but I could not put it down. I'll be interested to see what you think of it.
I started listening to an audio book version of Don Quixote a few days ago. It is read by David Gase and is very entertaining.
The antidote: Happiness for people who hate positive thinking.this book is good so far... totally recommended.
Just started The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides. Trying to get back with flowing the group reads!
I started Nights at the Circus by Angela Carter, and am liking it so far. It's also in the Feminista list.
Just started The House with the Blind Glass Windows . I needed a female protagonist for #fempowerathon, but still needed a classic list book.
I will start re-reading The Invisible Man today. Why? To celebrate re-reading is finally here! And it seems to work.https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I read it about 30 years ago, and at the time it was one of the best books I had ever read. I wonder what it feels like now. I will read that and one more before The Dispossessed in May.
