Starting The Nose by Nikolay (or Nikolai) Gogol (1836). It's short so I plan to read a couple other Gogol stories to go with it.

Oh, maybe it will surprise you! I just read all three Gormenghast books and absolutely loved the first two. I thought the second one, Gormenghast, was the best, though.

Linda inspired me to request my library to buy the trilogy and I'm going to read the first one shortly. I love fantasy books and these seem to be quite quirky so they should be right up my personal preference reading alley!

I'm also reading The Charterhouse of Parma but I really need to up my reading otherwise I'll be falling behind in my reading targets for this year.
