At Swim-Two-Birds by Flann O'Brien. I've read his other list book, The Third Policeman, about a year ago.

Begun Solaris yesterday and as I'm reading multiple haven't gotten far, but what I've read is captivating, it's hard to put down!
Mia wrote: "I started The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain."
Mark Twain was the quintessential American new novelist of his time. I read Huckleberry Finn many years ago, and plan to read his Tom Sawyer this year. From reading all your American books you're going to be more immersed in American culture than many of us are, Mia.

It seems to be a book that makes fun of a young guy writing a book in which his main character is writing a book ;)

Started Daniel Deronda by George Eliot. This is my final entry for the author and I've enjoyed them all.
Mercedes wrote: "Why is Jack London's White Fang not on that list? He's pure joy. I'm captured from the very first paragraph, always."
I agree with you, Mercedes. It is as good as White Fang!
Peter wrote: "The Midwich Cuckoos by John Wyndham"Love John Wyndham!

Anita Desai's Clear Light of Day
Only 182 pages, and manages to create the complete world of one Old Delhi family.

Ugh. I wonder how you did... I couldn't.

I've just started The Blithedale Romance; also my first Nathaniel Hawthorne.
Kirsten *Make Margaret Atwood Fiction Again!" wrote: Good-luck!"This wasn't a planned read. And it started slow but the pace has picked up and he's pretty funny. I'm enjoying it. That's a surprise.
Mercedes wrote: "I hope you take your time with this masterpiece. It is a symbolic and profound jewel"I'm in agreement with you. It's very good and descriptive. I didn't imagine I'd develop an interest in whaling but his enthusiasm is contagious. I'm not a slow reader and expected this would take a lot longer to finish than it has. I plan on wrapping it up today.
George wrote: "I'm in the Moby Dick group as well. Still working on a couple other list books too."What are you reading in tandem?
Mercedes wrote: "It's hard to believe I've gone through life having skipped this classic of American lit."I read it last year and felt the same. It was quite good.
Mercedes wrote: "In between you might pick up In the heart of the sea by Philbrick."Thanks for the suggestion! I've added it to my list. It would be a great book to read sitting seaside on a lazy summer day. :-)
Started Cakes and Ale this evening. Hoping to finish by the weekend. I like it so far with a few chapters in.
My interlibrary loan for At Swim-Two-Birds by Flann O'Brien. I'm not too sure about it. You may have to be drunk or Irish (or maybe even both) to get into it.
